Contrary to popular belief, having perfect skin is actually completely under your control. It depends on your daily habits that might not seem important, but are in fact crucial for skincare. These 10 things women with great skin always do, will help you maintain healthy and radiant skin.
10 Things Women with Great Skin Always Do. They remove all makeup before bed
One of the most important things to do if you want to have clear skin is to remove all the makeup before going to bed. No matter how sleepy you are, make it a priority to clean your face properly before you go to sleep. This will help your skin breathe and regenerate itself during the night. This simple, yet very effective habit can make a huge difference. Make sure you do a proper double-cleansing method when you get home and your skin will be thanking you.
They get a good night’s sleep
Beauty sleep is also important. When we sleep, our hydration levels are rebalancing. In other words, if you’re not getting enough sleep, you are more likely going to be prone to water imbalance. That’s how you end up waking up with puffy under-eye bags, dry skin, and wrinkles. Many women also made it a habit to sleep on their backs. This way they minimize the risk of having their pillow irritate their skin. Or you can switch to silk pillowcases which are much more soothing to the skin than the regular cotton ones.
They drink plenty of water
Speaking of hydration, it’s also very important to drink enough water throughout the day. Drinking plenty of water will help your body flush out all of the toxins and will, as a result, help you get that radiant, glowing skin. In addition to that, drinking water will boost your metabolism as well and improve your overall health. Alongside staying hydrated, it’s good to get into a routine of taking supplements. With the huge variety online, it can be daunting and hard to choose a specific one, supplements that contain saw palmetto powder or extract are fantastic as it aids in having healthy and clean skin.
10 Things Women with Great Skin Always Do. They don’t skip sunscreen
Though it is nice to spend time bathing in the sun, its UV rays can be our skin’s biggest enemy. They can be extremely harmful and even cause skin cancer. Not only that, but sun exposure is also the number one cause of premature aging. That’s why keeping your skin protected with a heavy SPF lotion on a daily basis is crucial. And if you want to have that bronze, glowing look all throughout the year, consider using an organic natural tan for your skin.
They wash their face twice a day
Washing your face daily is important for keeping your skin glowing and healthy. However, you need to find the optimum. Neither over-washing nor under-washing is good for your skin. Both of these can cause some serious skin problems. Now, many women opt for washing their face with a facial cleanser twice a day. However, since everyone’s skin is different this doesn’t necessarily are good for you two. Try washing your face twice a day at first, and if you notice it’s too harsh for your skin, switch to washing it only before going to bed.
They use minimal makeup
Going for minimal makeup looks is the key to keeping your skin healthy. On those days when you don’t need makeup, use only a minimal amount to only highlight your beautiful facial features. Make sure you are using organic and natural makeup that isn’t heavy on your skin, and rock the natural look.
They take time to de-stress
Constantly feeling stress can really have a negative effect on your skin. It can cause serious breakouts. That is why you need to implement some daily de-stressing habits. It can be whatever you want, as long as it helps you relax. You can either try practicing yoga, listening to some soothing music, or reading your favorite books. Just make sure you dedicate at least a few minutes of your time a day to yourself. Find new relaxing hobbies that will help you de-stress and your skin will glow.
They exercise at least twice a week
Consider exercising regularly. It will increase your blood flow which will nourish and revitalize your skin cells. Having a better blood flow will also help your body carry out waste products from working cells more effectively. Plus, working out just, in general, feels nice. It will help you relax.
They keep their hands away from their skin
The worst thing you can do to your skin is to constantly touch it. Picking the pimples will only make everything worse. This way you will only leave scars on your face and make it harder for your skin to heal. The best thing would be for you to let the pimple heal and use acne treatment at night.
They drink green tea
Lastly, drinking green tea is amazing for your skin health. They are full of organic barley grass, organic wheatgrass, organic spirulina, and other nutrients that your skin needs in order to stay healthy and glowing.
Conclusion
In conclusion, it’s very important that you take care of your skin properly. Skincare mostly comes down to paying attention to your skin’s needs and changing some small daily habits that will improve the health of your skin immensely.
I should do my best to not touch my face all the time. But the rest I do. And I invested time in finding out what would be the best cream for me and that paid of! And it is a lot cheaper then the ones I used to use!
Would really appreciate it if you would share my photos on Pinterest.
I always remove my make up and wash my face twice a day. I try to get a good night’s sleep and drink lots of water too. I think that helps my skin the most – lots of water!

Thanks Lieske.
I fail on drinking green tea – can’t stand the stuff! But I’m quite good about the other rules, although I hate using sun screen. It always seems to pill when you add foundation, no matter what brand you use!

I only use sun screen when I stay in my garden. I don’t like the feel of it on my skin.
Well, at least I’m doing some things right. I need my “beauty sleep” so I’m always having a good night’s sleep after having taken my make-up off. I’m also drinking plenty of water, never skip on sunscreen and wash my face, although not necessarily twice a day! xxx

Good job Ann!
Good advice! I follow most of these except for sunscreen (I’m alergic to it) so I keep out of the sun or wear a hat. A healthy diet is important. I eat plant-based: lots of veggies, fruit, grains, beans, nuts (no animal products). But that’s also because of compassion for animals. 🙂

That is so good of you Carmen, I use as little animal products as possible.
Good advice! Not only for your skin, but for your overall health too. This is one area in which not wearing any makeup is to my advantage.

Haha, it has to be in your system!
These are great tips to having great skin, however, I do have say that I have never done any of these things and I think I have pretty decent skin at 45 years old. So I think sometimes genetics prevails! Haha. Sorry, that sounds like I am bragging a bit. Maybe I am. But at 45, I am changing my skin care routine so I can maintain my healthy appearance! Thanks for sharing and linking up.

Not as good as yours!
I agree with the removal of the makeup before the bed. I never go to bed with makeup on. The good night’s sleep might be the tricky one sometimes (sight), but this is the best tip, I think.
