Can I still wear white sneakers? Or is it to old fashioned? The tittle timeless appeal of white sneakers says enough right!
And here we are already in May! My goodness, why is it going so fast. Hole of the winter I am waiting impatiently for spring to arrive. And then it takes so long before it is getting a bit warmer! We still have very chilly days. No temperature to wear sandals and bare legs. No such weather to shop for summer clothing! But I already have so many beautiful pieces of clothing in the shopping carts here and there. Even something red, can you imagine?
Are white sneakers timeless?

Because it is still pretty cold here for the time of the year, today I’ll show you how I wear my beloved blue trousers. With a Vinted jumper that immediately goes into the trash after the shoot. Well, this was another bad buy. Hardly worn, they say, and then it’s pilled. I hate that so much. But I do like the colours of it with these trousers. But what shoes am I going to wear underneath?
I must honestly admit that I still think white sneakers have a timelsss appeal. That’s just my opinion. But isn’t it a bit old-fashioned already? Look, I’m all for wearing what you want. But I would like to keep a bit of a modern look. Even if only in my own eyes. So I also tried the blue Converse underneath, which are not actually Converse because I went for the cheap version…..I really try not to do that anymore because…..cheap is expensive.
White or blue sneakers, what looks best?

I feel a bit like a clown wearing these blue sneakers. That’s because of that white part near the toes. You probably didn’t even notice it and now you think, yes, a clown’s shoe. Btw, I hate clowns. Should have bought real Converse….. Anyway, this is not a outfit that I love. The jumper, apart from the pilling, feels also outdated. I really feel old in this look. So why wear it then?
Well it’s a good outfit for cycling. Dresses and skirts are not ideal for when I go cycling for hours. I keep on pulling the skirt down. I will wear these trousers with a striped or a band tee. That’s more to my liking. I do love, however the military style jacket with these trousers. Because the cut of the jacket is to the side, the flow with the trousers works very well. So, bye bye jumper, hello timeless white sneakers!

Pilling drives me crazy too Nancy! You are right about cheap shoes being expensive. I’ve learned as well that it’s better to get the actual item as it saves money in the long run.
I like the white sneakers better and agree they are timeless! I don’t think you look like a clown in the other ones but I understand what you mean about the white cap toe part.
xo,
Kellyann
I hate when clothing items I like just don’t hold up either with pilling or pulls or the elastic breaking. I feel like even some of my more expensive buys just aren’t holding up well anymore. I had one pair of pants I just bought this year that I already had to toss and I loved them so much too! I think your outfit looks equally good with both sneakers but I’m partial to the blue ones since I just love the color blue.
I agree Nancy, clothing is just not being made the way it used to be, no matter how much you pay for it! Too bad about the pilling sweater, since it goes so well with the rest of your outfit, and seems perfect for cycling! Our weather this spring has been up and down and all over the place, it is hard to know what to wear. I have yet to finish packing up my fall and winter wardrobe because just as soon as we have a nice day or two, I need tobacco up and rummage around for a jacket or sweater. Thanks for sharing and the link up, and hope you have a lovely weekend!
I don’t think white sneakers will be going anywhere, they’re too popular – a bit like skinny jeans! I have a new pair of white and gold trainers.
Thanks for the linkup!
I think both sneakers look great with the outfit.
I know what you mean about the white tip on Converse sneakers but I think after you wear them a while you get used to it. Because when I used to see him on other people I think they were so cool looking and then when I wore mine they just seemed strange.
But I think I’m used to it now on me and I still love them on everyone else too

I like both pairs of sneakers work, but I know exactly what you mean about the white toe. My white Adidas are too white, but I don’t wear them enough to get them grungy. And, I only like them grungy! I love that military jacket…it’s just so cool! Thanks for the link up, Nancy!

Hi, Nancy – I like the blue sneakers better! If they are not true Converse, they are called basketball shoes. No one would call Converse shoes clown shoes anyway. Lol! I do love that military style jacket, too. I always enjoy your candid conversations. Thanks for hosting the linkup – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com
White sneakers are so classic! They look good with everything, including your blue trousers!

I’m loving the comfort and style of sneakers! They add such a great casual vibe to an outfit. I really like the white one with your outfit!

Thank you Mira!
I love both styles of sneakers: I wear my white ones the most but I have several other pairs that I do enjoy wearing! My white ones right now are my favorites so much that I bought a back up pair!

Haha, what a good idea! Thanks Mireille.
Honestly, both pairs of sneakers look fab with those pants. I keep trying with the sneaker look and, for some reason, I don’t think it fits me. Maybe because it’s so far out of my usual aesthetic? I don’t know. Anyway, you’re absolutely correct about cheap being expensive. It definitely is. It’s always best to go with what you can afford the first time around.

Yes you are absolute right Daenel. I try to keep that in my head!
Love it. You look great!

Thanks Patrick.
I don’t think you look old in this outfit, Nancy, and nor do I think it’s old-fashioned in any way. And I don’t think the fake Converse look clownish at all. That said, I’m not exactly a fan of white sneakers … xxx

It would be really weird o see you in white sneakers, lol. Thank you for your kind words Ann.
I like your outfit. The sneakers looks good on you

Thank you Melody!
I do not own white sneakers, but I am playing with chunky sneakers more and more. I like the Adidas (of course) with the outfit.
Author
Thanks! On the hunt for green ones now!
Nancy, I really like this outfit on you! It is sassy and chic and modern. I actually favor the blue sneakers over the white ones! But both look super cute. I do think this would look way cooler with a band tee though! Ditch that silly jumper and give me The Cure! Hehehe
Shelbee
And thank you for the feature! That was a happy little surprise!

Haha, indeed! Can you believe that I don’t even own a The Cure tee!
You can’t beat a pair of white sneakers with any outfit, both pairs look fab. Thanks for linking with #pocolo
I love this outfit, it’s something I would wear for sure. I would wear my Stan Smith white sneakers if they didn’t rub my bunions. The Converse lookalikes look great too. I bought a little device for de-pilling jumpers, it’s been very useful…and it’s very satisfying to use!

Those blue pants are really elegant, so I can see why you love them. And those white sneakers compliment them while adding an edgy vibe to your look while converse are a bit too casual for me. But then, I never liked them that much, because I don’t think they are that comfy. But that’s just me, I guess.
Enjoy the long weekend. xo Sabina
