The allure of peeptoes! The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book

collage peeptoes

Gosh, I love peeptoes! Sadly I don’t wear them that often annymore, because of the heels. But back in the days, when my health was a bit better, I had more peeptoes then normal shoes I believe. Pumps and ankle boots! I can remember I had peeptoe pumps in all colours! And the same ankle boots with peeptoes in different colours! Peeptoe extravaganza. What a joy. Let’s see who also loves them!

Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series in February 2018, but we had been working together a year previous. So you can say we really like to host these series! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join us. The more the merrier!

What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book?

It is a collage of outfits from all different women! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We’ll keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc.

But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!

So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Peeptoes!

First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge

I bought these gold peep toe heels years ago for full price which I never do! But I could not resist their shiny charm. I don’t wear them often but I keep them for rare special occasions because they are just too good to part with. And they aren’t terribly uncomfortable for heeled peep-toes. A Good Buy, for sure.

Marsha of Marsha in the Middle

Here is a pair of peep toes that I love.  They are so old, but, if they would make them again, I’d buy all the colors!

Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style

purple and lilac peeptoes

These toe shoes were fabulous find at a thrift store for only $5. They’re from a brand that’s not made anymore and they have that very vintage look. One of the things I absolutely love about him is how the leather is so soft!

Di of Di-Alog

jeans and peeptoes

This outfit is a go-to jeans and a blazer outfit, worn with a pair of taupe suede peep toe booties with side cutouts. These spent a few seasons in my closet, but I found them a bit difficult to style and did not wear them much. They are unusual and add pizzazz to a simple outfit, but they seem to go more with fall and winter outfits, and open toes during those seasons give me cold toesI I hope they turn out to be a good buy second time around with someone who is not so cold sensitive!

Sheila of Ephemera

black peeptoes

These are one of my few retail buys – picked up on sale at a local shop for $69.00 in 2018, so they are nearly 6 years old. I’ve worn them over a dozen times, and while my husband absolutely loathes them (“horrible shoes” he says), I love them! They’re a Good Buy! This time I’ve worn them with leggings and a silk tunic. And…these are the first painted toes of the season, so thanks for the nudge, Nancy!”

And here are my peeptoes

These are very old ones, but still wished I had them. Although they were worn out. The right ones were soft pink, they had a little heel, easy to walk on. I adore peeptoe ankle boots. Both were a very Good Buy.

The ones on the left had fringes and a wedged heel. Good Buy, as I loved the fringes and the heel was easy to walk on. The ones on the right I can’t even remember. I think I sold them on pretty quick as the heel is preety high. I’ll bet it was a Good-Bye! On Shelbee’s blog I am wearing peeptoes that I still have and love!

June’s theme will be: Eyewear!

Send your photo with a few sentences if it is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlights! Send it please before the 10th of each month to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to batennancy@gmail.com

I love all the fun peep toe shoes! I do find them terribly uncomfortable most of the time though. They get all pinchy! But they sure are cute!

I like a peep toe shoe, especially living in a hot climate, they make a lot of sense. I LOVE the gold ones that Shelbee bought!

What a fab collection of peep toes. I love them in the summer months, but it is all about comfort now!

Thanks for posting this fun challenge, Nancy! I love your peep toes and seeing all the different styles of peep toe shoes. The ladies did a great job with their outfits. I only have a few pairs in my closet now, and mostly wear them with my retro or vintage look outfits. Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Hi, Nancy – I have a pair of suede peep-toe booties which I love, but hardly ever wear them. I go from boots to sandals. In fact, I hardly ever wear any of my suede footwear because it usually seems to be raining or snowing! Thanks for this subject. I was looking for new ways to wear my peep-toe booties. I hope to keep them and not have to let them go! – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

I still have my peep toe booties even though I rarely wear them anymore. I love Shelbee’s gold pair! Anyway! Have a wonderful weekend! Xo

I think my PC bought me my first pair of peep toe shoes. They were Bongo shoes – black fabric with patent trim. Oh, I loved those shoes. I felt so feminine in them. And because only a peep at my toe nails was visible, I didn’t have to have a perfect pedicure to wear them. It seems that pretty well across the board we all agree our peep toes were good buys!!

What a wonderful idea! I absolutely love the concept of the Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. It’s such a fun and engaging way to share our fashion triumphs and let go of those pieces that just didn’t work out. Peeptoes are such a stylish choice—it’s great to hear about your love for them, even if you can’t wear them as often anymore. I’m excited to join in and see all the fantastic contributions from everyone. This series is a fantastic way to celebrate personal style and make fashion a shared experience. Kudos to you and Shelbee for creating such a delightful community project!

I absolutely love this idea of the Good Buy/Good-Bye Book! It’s such a fun and creative way to celebrate fashion, and I can totally relate to the joy of finding those perfect peeptoes. It’s wonderful to see a community where we can share our favorite pieces and also learn to let go of the ones that no longer serve us. Shelbee and your collaboration sounds fantastic, and I can’t wait to see the diverse and stylish contributions each month. Thank you for creating such an engaging and inspiring series!

Although I love peep toe shoes and sandals, mine are still in storage, as the weather keeps letting us down here.
    My favourites are Jodie’s! xxx

I have lots of peep toe shoes stored away under the bed but I rarely wear them now because of my bunions. I love those pink ones of yours!

I never knew shoes that showed your toes were even called peep toes. You have/had quite the collection. Thanks for linking up with Ageless Style.
