It may feel like sweater weather but I don’t remember ever wearing them! Not really. I’ve never liked a sweater. ( and then I scrolled threw my media library after I wrote this post, and saw that I did have a sweater! Didn’t like that one though, to sporty….it’s long gone) I don’t like a sporty style, so that’s probably it. But you know, nothing is more changeable as a woman, so today I’m showing you my new sweater.
Is it sweater weather?
Sweater weather actually means, it’s not cold enough to wear a coat, but to chilly for short sleeves. For me, when I wear a sweater, or jumper, it’s also time for a coat! A sweater, as the name suggests, is originally a piece of clothing that was worn during a workout, during sports. Hence the sporty image. And although I am very sporty, I go to the gym 4 times a week, I don’t like a sporty style. But I really needed some warm sweaters or jumpers.
Although it has not yet been colder than 10 degrees, I think it is terribly cold outside. It feels as if it’s winter already, so that promises something. I really need warm clothes. And sweaters are usually nice and warm, so I decided to give them a chance. If I wore the sweater on the bicycle with jeans, which is the intention, it would look so terribly boring. I always look boring when I cycle, accept when it’s 25 degrees Celcius( 77 Fahrenheit) or more, lol. But it will keep me warm on the bicycle so it has to be done. But if I don’t have to go on the bicycle, I would wear the sweater like this!
How I wear a sweater
With feminine counterparts to tone down the sporty character of the sweater. And then I really like it! And gosh, sweaters are really nicely soft and warm right? Mine has some pink details. And I have a beautiful pink statement ring to accentuate the pink letters. Because well, matchy matchy girl! Also I am wearing very very old pink earrings. I adore these and they are not that heavy. The skirt is by Marc Cain and really great quality. A bit heavier than most satin look skirts. And this one doesn’t sign so much.
Now you might think, well Nancy, it does. Yes, that’s true, but I hadn’t worn any corrective underwear underneath either. When I go out for dinner, or lunch, and I wear shapewear, my stomach just hurts! It’s to tight! Am I the only one who experiences that?

It looks really cute with the silk skirt. I have been wearing sweaters like this in the evening or in the morning when I am dressed down a lot but I did do this with a leopard skirt and really liked the look! Going to have to do it again when it cools off.

I LOVE sweaters ~ and tight jeans! Easy dressing ~ pull them on and go. I DON’T like “layered looks” ~ too much hassle with shirts that need to stay tucked in, or jackets that always seem too bulky or just TOO MUCH of everything! My typical Fall outfit is above (the cold-shoulder animal sweater and tight ripped-knee black jeans) ~ it’s usually still somewhat warm in North Texas, so that’s fine… (and my mind has a hard time accepting that I’m 75, so I don’t think I’ll ever “dress my age” or whatever that’s supposed to mean).

I’m always calling the sporty ones “sweaters” and the knit ones “jumpers”. As I don’t like a sporty look either, I usually wear jumpers and not sweaters 🙂 Although now that you mention it, I might have bought a sweater last year … which I haven’t even worn yet.

I love the sweater with the skirt! I own a couple of hoodies in sweatshirt material and love them, but it’s only recently I’ve been wearing them. Like you, I didn’t want to wear sporty clothes for everyday outfits, but they’re so comfortable so I’m converted!
