Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series after we had hosted The Bad Buy Book for a year. Now we are ready for a new challenge! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book about?
It is a collage of outfits! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We will keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc.
But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!
So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Our Formal Wear!
First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge
Here is my Good Buy Dress. Although I didn’t actually buy it. This olive green formal dress was gifted to me by Rosegal. I have worn it a bunch of times on my blog and in real life. It is super lightweight and really comfortable. I wore it to my brother-in-law’s wedding two years ago which happened on the hottest day of the year and I was thankful for the flowy, loose fabric that day. The simple lines make it a very versatile dress to wear formally or casually. And I love the olive green color.

I’m attaching a photo of this dress I found on Small Business Saturday in November. This formal dress shop was going out of business and this one was marked down to $12. How could I not buy it?? I wore it for my birthday party and I plan to pull it out every year.

This dress was a Good Buy! It was thrifted so was a great deal and I wore it to my brother’s wedding. I just love the color of it with the navy blue under-layer and how well it fits!
This is Kim of Fierce Fashion
I don’t really have anything that constitutes formalwear, but this is as close as it comes. It is a lace dress that I purchased for a White Masquerade party. This is from two years ago. It’s BCBG and I felt so stylish in it.
And finally my formal wear.
This silk dress and jacket are perfect for a formal party. I love the brown and yellow in the dress and the golden cat head bag gives a fun twist to the outfit!
July’s theme will be: Orange!

I don’t think I have anything that constitutes “formal” wear, and if I do, I’m certainly not keeping it for formal occasions. That would be such a waste, wouldn’t it? No we don’t! But I do it every Saturday, almost every Saturday, just for the fun! And we have dinner with wine and all kind of tapas in the evening! Just like a date night only in our own home!
