It does sound a bit sad, and I only had lunch twice (outside), and I work-out a lot but missed it on Saturday and Thursday. But it was a fairly quiet week, which I don’t mind. Last Saturday we celebrated my in-laws’ 65th wedding anniversary. We had lunch with 18 of us and our five great-grandchildren. And it was a truly magnificent afternoon. My sister-in-law had decorated everything in Valentine’s Day style. It looked beautiful. My in-laws had a wonderful day, which they certainly deserved. But we all enjoyed it. And because it was just lunch, we were back home for a relaxed evening. I like that too, we already have something planned for the coming weekends.
I did more then just lunch and work-out
- This photo is so cute. 89 and 87 cutting the wedding cake together.
- My lunch on Saturday.
- For once a baby who doesn’t immediately start crying when she sits on my lap. Great grand child Esmee.
On Sunday we went to the park, but it was so cold and the wind was so strong. My feet were still cold that evening. I booked a few days at the seaside for our May holiday. That will make it a year since we last went to England. That’s becoming more and more of a problem, I miss England terribly. When I watch Escape to the Country on TV, I get teary-eyed. Gerben made a delicious risotto withh shrimp and green asparagus. Monday, well, you know the drill: laundry, exercise, emails, blogging.
Tuesday, I worked-out at home first because the gym was closed for Carnival. I don’t know if you know what that is? I’ll explain briefly, and I’ll also say that it’s not my kind of party. Carnival lasts four days. Everyone dresses up in ridiculous clothes, there’s a parade through the villages, and people drink from morning till night in the pubs and bars. Now, I have to be honest, if you’re in a club and you know everyone, it’ll be pretty fun…just in case any villagers are reading along, lol.
Let’s continue with my week
- This is what I wore on Wednesday.
- Sunday’s breakfast.
- With my dear girlfriends having lunch.
On Wednesday I had lunch with two friends. There’s a nice little restaurant less than a minute’s bicycle ride away, so it was perfect. We had a great catch-up. And of course, I had croquettes on bread again. My favorite lunch. Thursday night I coughed pretty much all night. I was so hungover that morning that I canceled my work-out. I checked with the lung specialist first, but she thought it might be a virus. So I just needed to recover. I’d thought I’d exercise at home, and in the afternoon I wanted to do some cleaning. But I actually played it smart and just did nothing all day. I really hate that, I think it’s a waste of time. But sometimes it’s the wisest thing you can do. Rest is the best medicine for recovery. So that’s what we’ll do so we can have a nice weekend. I wish you the same!

And now it is time to join a Fancy Friday Fashion party!
Every Friday you can put your blog, or social media account, in the spotlights and meet other bloggers. Even if you’re not a blogger you can join! But it is a fun way to let others know about your blog posts, and to support each other. It would be nice if you would comment when you join the linkup party. I also pin my favourite on Pinterest.
My Fancy Friday Favourite of last week is: Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge

I would also appreciate if you shared a link to Nancy’s Fashion Style in your post or give a little shout out on social media to promote the Fancy Friday linkup party! And now share your post!
By joining the Fancy Friday party, you agree to receive a weekly reminder email for the linkup party.

Sounds like a good week with two memorable lunches. My husband hasn’t been too well lately and has to be persuaded to take a rest day, but it always pays off. Love that pleated skirt. It’s not a style that works on me, sadly.

Thank you very much Jill.
Aw, Nancy, thanks so much for the feature! What a lovely surprise. I am so sorry that you have been struggling with the all night coughing fits. You must be exhausted. I hope you have rested enough to enjoy your weekend. I would not want to be around the Carnival chaos either! Quiet weekends at home are totally my thing. Except this weekend, it’s too quiet. My boys went on a hunting trip and so I am all alone this weekend and I don’t really like it that much! Love all your outfits and food pics!

Time with friends is always nice! I love eating outdoors and this week, the weather has been like spring so I have been able to have lunch and some breakfasts on the porch. And it is also nicer for my walks and runs. Lovely pleated skirt outfit! Have a wonderful weekend!

Oh that is fantastic! I am so looking forward to eat outside again, but it will take a few more months!
Love this chic look Nancy! Glad you decided to rest. I feel the same way about rest too. I know it’s good for me but I also feel like I’m wasting precious time. Hoping you can get to England soon. Travel makes me happy as well.

No, I can’t go to England as long as I am on the transplant list. So it will take a while. But thanks Kathrine!
65 years married is sure something to celebrate. It sounds like you had a wonderful time. Thanks for the party.

Nancy, sounds like a lovely week all in all, sans the nasty cough. So nice to have a party for your in-laws to commemorate their 65th wedding anniversary. That is quite an achievement! Also, I can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon than lunch with good friends. I have never heard of Carnival in the Netherlands. It sounds like a fun thing to watch from afar, but I don’t think I would like to be in the fray of it. Thanks for sharing and hosting the link up, and hope you have a nice, restful weekend!
