Today Claire writes for you! Enjoy!
Ok ladies, now let’s get information. We have serious business to tend to, the business being looking absolutely stunning for the two big events of the season – Christmas and New Year’s Eve. We’re going to be taking care of your complete looks, from hair to outfits and the tiniest details, so follow us and get ready to dazzle on the sparkliest evenings of the season.
Let’s talk makeup

If you’re spending your Christmas with family and then heading out, we have the perfect look that is suitable for both. Golden shadows, whether bright or muted, are usually very creamy, and you can simply apply them across the lid and take them up to the crease. They are understated yet ultra-flattering and festive, which makes a look using these perfect for those family gatherings. A fresh, dewy foundation is preferable with a golden eye look, and you can build it up a little or set it with a good spray when the time comes to hit the town. A champagne stick highlighter that will give you that fresh, glossy, ‘wet’ look goes perfectly with the rest, and finally, lip gloss during the day, and for the evening, amp things up with coppery metallic lipstick.
When it comes to December 31st, go as wild as you want, especially with glitter. Now that there are tons of holiday eyeshadow palettes loaded with glittery shadows, duochrome shadows with micro-glitter ones. Grab a favorite and start from there. You can create a burgundy eye look, deep blue or even emerald. All of these are all the rage right now. There are such palettes as the Cherry palette from UD and Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadows, all of which will make you look super-metallic, glittery and fabulous. Top things off with the Diamond Bomb sheer highlighter that contains the most insane amount of micro-glitter to give you that ultimate glow. Finally, what is New Year’s Eve without a red lip? You can go with a simple matte lip or top it off with a gloss for a lip look that won’t crumble or dry out the lips. There, you’re all set.
Flash those pearly whites

Here in Australia, we take some real pride in our amazing pearly white smiles. Truly, a good smile can trump even the best of makeup skills. So if you’re feeling a slight lack of confidence in the smile department, make an appointment with your dentist now. You can either go for a safe whitening or get something fixed – you never know what could be looming. Aussies also don’t like to wait, so they make it their business to book their appointments through services such as MyHealth1st. This way, there is no waiting time, just a great professional waiting for you to give you the smile you and your memorable festive photos deserve.
Festive hair don’t care

Again, we have two tasks – Christmas and New Year’s. For Christmas, we’re thinking something low-key. Something along the lines of a loose low bun or classy waves you can make with either a curling iron or a flat one. Both options are chic without being too much. And you can always touch the do up during the course of the day.
Now, New Year’s deserves a whole lot more glam. So what we have in mind are those Blake Lively old Hollywood waves with a dazzling pin that will push all the hair to one side. Now, if you want to go to the ‘a little too much’ side, you can always follow one of the current trends and place glitter on your roots. In that case, we suggest an intricate bun full of braids, to make the look a bit more festival-like.
Finally!

Yes, we’ve finally reached the outfits! Okay, this is going to be super simple. For Christmas, both daytime and nighttime festivities call for a pair of golden sequin wide-leg trousers and a gorgeous flowy V-neck blouse. Preferably with highly trendy puff-sleeves. You can wear either white or nude block heel boots with this outfit. A pair of golden structured earrings, and bam, you’re all decked out. Stunning, yet appropriate for all the family festivities, yet equally attractive when you take the party into the night. Silver shoes are a must.
The glitter extravaganza continues straight into New Year’s Eve, but this time it’s bigger and almost larger than life. What you want, nay, need, is an incredible sequin wrap dress with a decently high slit. A dress of this sort is a definite showstopper. Now, since ultra-violet is still the color of 2018, you can go for something as ethereal as a violet dress. However, Pantone has announced that the color of 2019 will be Living Coral a highly poignant and festive hue, so if you want to get a jumpstart on trendiness or simply think this is your color, then start scouting for it, certain brands must have created it already. In this case, golden sandals are a definite must.
As promised, we have given you inspo for everything – head to toe, literally. Now, you still have a sufficient number of days to go and shop for clothes, shoes, accessories and makeup. Book that dentist appointment as well as an appointment with your hairstylist. In case you can’t do it on your own. Good luck, happy holidays, now go, and slay them all.

These are good tips! And it’s funny as I do intend to curl my hair for Christmas day, haha! 🙂 I won’t be doing anything special for NYE though, I’ll probably be asleep as usual! 🙂
Hope that you had a nice weekend and are excited for Christmas 🙂 Our celebrations kick off with Christmas eve family time traditions on the coast so I’ll be taking a little blogging break for a few days but wanted to wish you merry Christmas!

I’m glad gold was mentioned in the outfit section–I completely forgot about adding gold this season, other than jewelry. Merry Christmas, Nancy, God bless!

Great ideas for holiday festivities. I keep it pretty low key myself, but it’s fun to see what others get up to!
