Not that this flattering dress is to tight, no, it has a huge side slit! So I guess that I have had sitting shoes, and this is a not sitting dress, lol. Sorry, dat is so lame. I think this is the only black item I bought this season. Unbelievable. I don’t wear black that often anymore. It feels a bit strange, I almost feel a bit guilty about it, haha, strange right? Angie, Your True Self, asked me if I felt different. I don’t know actually. Perhaps I feel more relaxed, perhaps I’m just getting older…..and softer…..lol. But I’ve been wearing a lot of black for so long, and now I don’t even miss it. But I couldn’t resist this dress. Even though I actually bought it for the festival and didn’t wear it there.
Flattering dress for a festival, or perhaps not
I wanted an easy dress for the festival. A dress because it’s more comfortable when you have to go to the bathroom (bathroom? Dixie’s I mean!), otherwise, the hem hangs on the floor, when you wear a short or trousers, and those mobile toilets aren’t usually very clean at a festival, right? And the dress shouldn’t be too long or too wide for the wheelchair either.
When this one arrived, along with about five other dresses for the festival that didn’t work out, I thought, no, not suitable. Too formal, too tight. But when I tried it on, it was actually really comfortable, and the pleats at the waist make it a very flattering dress. So I decided to keep it. It was in sale too. And I think it’s absolutely gorgeous! But didn’t wear it at the festival, I wore this dress though.
Yeah yeah yeah, finally something black again
I can’t wait to wear this dress with boots, but black boots are a bit too heavy for me in summer to wear with this flattering dress. So for now, I’m wearing it with sneakers, preferably, and sandals. I’ve actually had these pink sneakers in my closet for a few months now, and I wasn’t too happy with them. I found them a bit too bulky and a bit too tight. But I decided to wear them one evening, and I’ve been in love with them ever since. Now they’re incredibly comfortable, and I think they look great under this flattering dress.
Especially with pink accessories. A bunch of beaded bracelets, Temu…..yeah shame shame. And two gold coloured necklaces with a sea theme and pink. I thought of wearing a statement pink ring too, but that would be to much for me. So I kept my earrings basic too for that reason. I love to wear a denim jacket on dresses and even better on a black dress! Could have worn my leopard print scarf, as I always wore such a scarf with a denim jacket! I have somewhere a photo from 20 years ago, where I wear a denim jacket with a leopard scarf. Always wore that combination. I am so predictable!

Nancy you look stunning in this dress. I like it💕 I have a very similar dress in red. It looks great with the denim jacket.

Thank you very much Tina!
Good to see you back in black! I bought some black jeans this week, snd a camel jumper, so I’m going in the opposite direction….away from colour!
Author
Haha, would love to see you in black! Thanks Gail.
That is a really pretty dress but it does look like it would be hard to sit in.
Author
Yes, only because of the split. Because the dress is very stretchy.
I love the dress and how you accessorized it! Can’t wait to see how you style it in fall as well. It’s been a while since we’ve seen you in black! 🙂

Haha, indeed Kathrine! I love colour more and more!
Oh, a great black dress is always a good thing. I love the gathering and the split makes it really fun! My attention was drawn right away to the pink sneakers. I am glad they turned out comfortable!

Me too Mireille, I wear them all the time now!
It has been fun to see you start wearing colors and even jeans! This black dress is a good one and I agree, a dress is easier for using the restroom for sure!
You look great Nancy!

So stylish! I love it paired with sneakers and denim jacket. I don’t wear much black either; too much of a lint collector for me.

Thank you very much Amy.
It’s a stunning dress but I agree that it wouldn’t be very practical at a festival. More of a going for a drink or lunch/dinner dress, I think 🙂 And I am so hearing you on having to be careful when sitting. I’ve got a wrap skirt which I’m thinking of getting rid of because it’s so annoying to having to keep rearranging it when sitting 🙂 xxx
Author
Yes it is annoying, because I have a skirt like that too. The denim one from a few weeks ago.
Nancy, you look amazing in that dress! I also love how you styled it to wear right now, and I’m excited to see how you style it for the fall. Have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you very much Caroline.
I can see the need for careful sitting, lol! This is a beautiful dress on you, Nancy. I love the draping, and it will be so versatile. The perfect blank canvas for accessorizing. It will be great in the fall, too. Thanks for hosting the link up and, hope you have a good weekend!

Yes, I would love to wear it when it is a bit colder, with boots! THanks Di.
Nancy, I don’t care what color you wear…you always look fabulous! I love the pink accessories. They’re not what people usually wear with black. Your brown boots would look cool with this, too. I hate using public restrooms for that very reason…you never know…and don’t want to know…what’s on the floor! Thanks for the link up!

Haha, I don’t have a problem with it at all, while on the other hand I am super hygienic.
I think this dress is super flattering! How tall are you? You seem tall and this dress is just made for you. I really do like the pop of pink, probably because it’s my favorite color. Have a great weekend.

I love your festival dress, Nancy! The gathers and draping is very nice on you. This reminds me of my lime dress that I just wore! Thanks for the link party!

That dress is stunning! I really like the pleats and ruching! It looks amazing on you!

I like it with the denim jacket. The slit would be way too high for me, but it looks good on you and I think I complimented you on the pink sneakers before! (Not a pink girl myself, but I do miss my pink satin sneakers)

Thanks Cat!
Hi, Nancy – The ruched waist on this dress looks so good on you! I’ve had a very hard time keeping myself from wearing black. I finally changed over to charcoal gray and am trying to wear navy more. What I am really hooked on now is turquoise and teal. The majority of my clothes are in those colors. The good thing is that they go with each other and everything else! It’s interesting that you say you feel more relaxed and softer in colors than in black…Thanks for sharing! – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

I like teal a lot too. And navy and charcoal. It all comes down to wear you feel the most comfortable in. And one day it can be this, and the other that. I think that is okay, as long as you dress the way you really want too!
