Such a real autumn color combination, brown and green. Also very predictable, but that doesn’t matter at all. There is almost no colour combination that isn’t predictable is there?( and looks great of course). Shelbee and I had brown as our theme for October and although it is not a popular colour at all, we still received a lot of beautiful outfits to admire. I also wear brown with black a lot, but today with this green combat skirt that you have seen before.

Why is it always afterwards, when the photos have been taken, that I’m thinking: I should have added something….. In the case of this brown-green outfit, it is a belt. A gold-colored belt would have gone very well with this look. The skirt has a wide elastic band that accentuates the waist, but you can’t see it at all. Nancy, get it into your head, always add one more thing!
I love gold-coloured accents, so the buttons on this jumper appealed to me. The fact that the skirt has silver-coloured zippers and the necklace also has a bit of silver doesn’t bother me that much. It would normally, but I am loving the skirt to much to bother. Although I would have liked it better if the skirt had gold-coloured zippers. The suède boots are from two years ago. A bit saggy, for a relaxed look.
Brown and green in nature
I already blend in quite nicely with the garden, which is also quite brown and green, but we have almost everything in the garden evergreen. Only 1 tree will loose it’s leaves and the rest will remain green. That’s wonderful, I love that. When I come home in winter and I drive, or cycle, through our lane, none of the trees have leaves anymore. And then I come into our driveway and it’s all green! Luxurious I find that!
But if you would ever doubt if a colour combination is a good one( which btw IS, if you think it’s good!), look into your garden or just into nature. You can find the most beautiful colour combinations there! Especially in a English Castle garden! Oh Heaver castle….their garden was on Monty’s last Friday.

I’ve always adored all the earthy colours (I’ve read it’s because I’m a Capricorn, but I don’t know lol!) but I don’t actually wear them that much…purely because I don’t have that much of it in my wardrobe. I must try and find some beautiful earth toned clothes! I love your outfit and totally agree that gold accents would look fab too…you can’t beat a good gold accent, right?!

I love that your garden stays green year round. Our grass hibernates in the winter and turns yellow-brown and a lot of the trees in the woods that back our backyard lose their leaves.

That’s a pity. And it takes such a long time before it all gets their colour and leaves back.
Sadly my whole yard is basically brown at this point so I tend to start reaching for brighter colors. I love this color combo you pulled together and all the “extras” of both pieces (like the zipper of the skirt and the buttons on the shoulder) are so fun!
