First Saturday in May-The Beauty and Style Spotlight Team

First Saturday in May

The first Saturday of May! Time flies, doesn’t it. But we had such gorgeous summer weather already, fabulous. I finally could wear my summer boots! Have you joined my Fancy Friday linkup party yet? I really would appreciate it if you could. And you put your blog in the spotlight, what’s not to love. Now it is time to see what great posts we have for you this morning. Enjoy your weekend!

First Saturday in May post

Dr. Althea ABC Glow Whipped Serum is a perfect product if you are looking for luminous, soft, smooth, supple and hydrated skin. Lola’s Secret Beauty Blog loves this effective and affordable K-Beauty gem, and thinks you will too.

Have you ever tried TikTok shopping? Or is that social media channel not of any interest for you? Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style discovered some very nice ladies who sell clothes a few times a week on TikTok. And she tried it and was totally a fan of it!

On Our Good Life this week, Terri argues that improving water quality, especially switching from hard to soft water, can simplify your beauty routine by helping skin retain its natural oils, leading to smoother, more radiant skin with fewer products. She also explains that hard water can damage the skin’s protective barrier and disrupt pH balance, causing irritation, so better water supports healthier skin with less effort.

If you have a difficult time getting fragrance to last on you, try layering. And not just layering with any fragrance-free lotion. Allison from Never Say Die Beauty has been layering with Rare Amber Vanilla Fragrance Layering Balm. Rare comes in a variety of other scents too.

Angie at Your True Self Blog shares a style tip on how to revive old classics and make trends work for you. Since classic pieces last through the years, there’s no need to discard them. And if you don’t like the thought of being a slave to trends, there is a way to use them so that they fit right into your outfits.

In this guide, Barbie Ritzman of Barbie’s Beauty Bits explains how to choose handcrafted jewelry colors that complement your skin tone and personal style. It covers how to identify warm, cool, or neutral undertones, which metals and gemstones tend to work best with, and how to choose pieces that look good on you rather than just following trends.

I love how much joy you are getting from TikTok shopping! I still prefer in shopping in stores, but stores seem to be getting fewer and fewer these days which is forcing me to shop online more. Like Marsha, I am not on TikTok which is probably a really good thing! Have a great week. Talk/Zoom soon!

I had never heard of Tiktok shopping before! I always buy my clothes via Vinted. But this sounds interesting.

I buy a lot via Vinted too, but lately I can’t find any interesting things there.
