Different style, same dress. Black dress with slide.

different style same dress

I wanted to show you this dress, which you might have seen before, in a different style than the first time. Although I’ve only really worn it with sneakers, this version is a bit more formal. Perfect for going out for dinner or a party(as if I have parties….). I also want to give you a glimpse into my life. What’s happening and what I’ve been up to. Because there is nothing much to say about the dress right! It’s black, it’s simple and I love it.

What’s going on in my life

It’s actually been quite busy and stressful since the green light conversation for the transplant list at the hospital. The conversation itself wasn’t that good in my head. Because I have plaque on my coronary artery, they told me  that it is a extra risk for the surgery. They were doubting wether to put me on the list or not. So while Gerben heard that they decided to do so, I only heard the bad news and was totally stressed and angry after the conversation.

We were going to a festival the next day and I did not even want to go anymore. In the evening I decided to go anyway. While we were driving the next day to the village we stayed during the festival weekend, we got a call from the hospital saying I hadn’t had a blood test and had to go back.

Well, that ended up being Monday after the festival. We were supposed to stay at the festival Sunday night, but we drove home Sunday evening and then to the hospital on Monday—a two-hour drive there, a fifteen-minute blood test, and a two-hour drive back.

Different style same dress, but we are not talking outfits today

Then we were told there were extensive construction plans next door and behind us. We live in the middle of the village, but completely free. They’re going to build apartments next door. Now, we do plan to move again, (after a transplant) but those construction plans aren’t exactly ideal after a transplant and then having to recover for a year afterward. I mean, all the dust you get from construction.

So that’s stressful. Then it turned out Castor, our Maine Coon, is a kidney patient. Well, he had to go to the vet several times. It didn’t always go smoothly.

He’s still not well; six teeth had to be pulled too. Anyway, a small monthly salary later… And I’m had cataract surgery on Monday and two weeks later on the other eye. So… we’re so ready for some rest! We’re on vacation as of today, no plans at all yet. We still have a lot of things to catch up on. And we’ll just have to wait and see how Castor is doing. But I really hope we can recharge a bit during the vacation, because we really need it! Well, you’re all up to date, lol. Not about different style same dress, but a update!
I am not planning on blogging during our holiday, so I take a two week rest from my laptop. Hope to see you again when I am back! Have a great weekend. And Sunday is my birthday!

Oh my, that’s a lot on your plate.
I found the pre-transplant “planning” state very stressful at times, all the exams, so much talking and a lot to take in (also I was still working full-time then and had dialysis). I really hope things will go well for you. That’s too bad about the construction 🙁

Good thoughts for Castor as well. That too is something I have own experiences with, kidney disease in cats and pulled teeth.

Hang in there and hopefull you can relax for a bit now.

Oh wow, Nancy, what a lot to contend with: cataracts and the big transplant. Then the building next to where you live and your beloved cat. Sending healing light to you and hoping you can chill just a little bit as it’s all very stressful. Take a breathe and absolutely take a break from blogging as well. We will still be there for you – and we care a lot.

Sending lots of love to you from across the English channel. XXX

Oh wow, Nancy, what a stressful time you’ve had of it. And then the construction plans on top of all the medical stuff! I can totally relate to that! Anyway, I hope you’ll have a relaxing holiday. We are going on holiday as well, as from tomorrow. xxx

I sure hope you get some rest: that is a lot to deal with. My mom had 5 stents put in a couple weeks ago and yesterday she asked how blocked her arteries had all been: it’s a miracle she was alive! I have been on phone calls with her doctors/nurses this morning making sure about the medicine they want her to take and not take. That exhausting too! Take care! You look fantastic in this dress and I love your choice of accessories especially that gold necklace!

Happy birthday, Nancy! It’s probably your birthday as I write this because I’m late reading blogs! I cannot imagine the stress you’re under and having to wait until a transplant is available. Then, you add construction! We have lived through two construction sites, and you’re right about the dust. I hope Castor rebounds and is doing better with the teeth gone. I hope you find something fun to do and relax doing for your vacation. Thanks for the link up!
