This post is a review about Vegamour products. I’m always looking for a good shampoo and conditioner. Well, always is an exaggeration, but you get what I mean. I actually have super easy hair. It’s very thick, curly, although the curls have faded quite a bit since menopause. And when I style it, it stays in place for at least five days. I try to wash my hair once a week. Sometimes it is necessary more often, depending on what I have done with it. If I wear it up for a whole week, it gets dirty less quickly than if I wear it loose.
My normal hair washing routine
My routine is to wash it two to three times with shampoo, then conditioner, a leave in and oil when I style it. My facial skin is allergic to certain ingredients, such as foam makers. But my scalp gets itchy very easily from foam makers. Now there is a problem with shampoo then!
What I do now is wash my hair twice with a shampoo that does not contain the foam maker. This is a very mild shampoo. In any case, I only use products without sulphates, silicones and parabens. But I also have quite dry hair. So I then wash it for the 3th time, but only the ends, with keratin shampoo. Because my dry hair needs care and nutrition.
Sometimes I don’t have any problems for a week, but often my scalp starts itching a few days after washing. While my hairdresser says that she doesn’t see anything on my scalp, not red, not dry. But it is annoying. So when Vegamour asked me for a collaboration and a review, I said yes. Because their products are plant based! It’s actually also good for women with hair loss and shedding. I don’t have that problem but if you do, you can read a review from Kellyann here about shedding.
I wanted to use Vegamour because I wanted to know whether my scalp would itch less and whether it would do something for my dry hair. Have now washed my hair with the Vegamour shampoo about seven times. I don’t like the smell of the shampoo, but prefer that to shampoo with perfume. I need less shampoo than my usual product. That also counts for the conditioner. My hair is a bit less dry after a few weeks.
By the way, I did my usual routine, so that’s the same as with my own shampoo. The serum is very light and pleasant to use. Can I say that my scalp is less itchy? That difference. Sometimes I find it less itchy and other times I don’t feel any change. Although in general I can say that I find the Vegamour products nice and nourishing for my hair. Is my dry hair solved? No, but I don’t expected that from any shampoo.
I am not going to elaborate here on what is and is not in the product and what kind of company Vegamour is. You can read that yourself on their site. But it is definitely worth a visit. I would also like to say that Vegamour really gives you the time to try it and they want an honest review! So there it is!

Do you know where you get it from Gail?
Your hair is amazing Nancy. I seem to have lost so much of mine this past year, due to too much stress and ageing. I’ve used Vegamour myself, and remember how good it was. I might get another kit for myself. Have a good weekend Nany xx

I envy your thick bouncy hair Nancy and and what a very honest review of the Vegamour products. Any product needs a little time to take effect I believe but it does appear to have given you a little benefit. Have a great weekend.

You’ve got wonderful hair Nancy – it’s nice and thick and a bit wavy. It is so lovely. But yes do try shampoos for the itchiness as the must be annoying.
I use very good products and always use a serum after drying the hair. I too try to wash it once a week.
Have a great weekend X

My pleasure Kellyann! Thank you so much!
Oh I would love to have your hair! It’s so thick and gorgeous, and I can’t even imagine only having to wash your hair once a week. Mine is so oily, I look like a grease ball after a day. It’s horrible. Thanks for the honest review and the party.

That is a problem too, dry hair isn’t nice but greasy neither. Thanks Amy!

Thanks for the feature! I was interested in your review as I want to find something for my oldest to use but I am not sure which product to go with. Seems like it was inconclusive for you as for as dryness goes.

No shampoo will make my hair less dry to be honest. It can make my hair look less dry. But what really worked for me with that is a curling tong. But you have to use oils!
You have fabulous hair from the start Nancy! I have very sensitive skin and scalp but the Vegamour system might be worth a try. Hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks for sharing your honest view about this product.

Thank you very much Di. Don’t expect wonders but it’s better the normal shampoos.
My sons scalp gets very itchy after washing too and we’ve been trying out different products hoping to minimize his discomfort. He’d love to only wash once every 5 days but his hair gets so greasy and our hair dresser cautioned him that going so long between washings might not work for him since he’s still in those teen/hormone/greasy years.

Yes I can understand that. Because my hair is very dry, I have the opposite!
I’ve been using Vegamour since the summer. Jury’s out on whether or not it actually works, but I really do like the shampoo and conditioner!

I do like that they are relatively clean with their ingredients. You do have gorgeous hair and interesting about the itchy scalp.

Your hair is fabulous, Nancy! A beautiful color and that slight wave! I hope continuing to use this helps you with the itchy scalp. That would be so irritating. Thanks for the link up!
