Scarves, how we wear them-The Good Buy/Good-Buy Book

Scarves, how we wear them-The Good Buy/Good-Buy Book

I don’t wear  scarves a lot. Only in winter to protect my lungs from the cold. And when I wear a denim jacket, in spring, I almost always wear a leopard scarf with it. I have done that for 20 years or so. And used 2 scarves in those 20 years, one I still use. But scarves as a accessories are not my cup of tea. Although they can add so much interest and colour to a outfit!

Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series in February 2018, but we had been working together a year previous. So you can say we really like to host these series! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join us. The more the merrier!

What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book?

It is a collage of outfits from all different women! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We’ll keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc.

But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!

So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Scarves!

First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge

scarfs

I bought this long floral scarf on clearance years ago for around $10 and it has been one of my favorite scarves ever since. It coordinates perfectly with so much of my wardrobe and I love the extra long length (96 inches). I have been searching for another one in a different print but it is very difficult to find scarves longer than 72 inches. This is definitely one of the best Good Buys in my closet! I wear it all the time!

Mireille of Chez Mireille

neutral look with a pop of colour

It was easy to choose a picture with a scarf because this year, I have been wearing all of my winter scarves! This one was a gift from my mom a few years ago and I love the pop of color it brings to a neutral outfit.

blue outfit
This scarf has been a favorite of mine for a few years now. I honestly don’t even remember when or where I got it but I just love the bright blues and teals. It is such a good buy because I wear it often. Paired here with my teal pants and a black rhinestone studded cardigan it’s perfect dressed up for a date night out.
scarves on a dress
I bought this scarf at Old Navy years and years ago. Also have it in a green/blue print. I was so happy to see how well it matched this cardigan/dress.
scarves for our theme
I am a scarf hoarder, so it’s no surprise that I wore 3 of them together and consider them a fabulous buy.
My rainbow striped scarf is my most expensive thrifted non-silk scarf at $13 but it was a Good Buy for how well it pairs with this striped skirt!  It’s a combination I wear again and again.
And here is my scarf
brown bermudas
This scarf I bought when Gerben and I went away for two days to the planetarium in our own country. The second day we shopped and browsed a bit and I saw this scarf. I love the cognac colour, it matches my boots. And it was so perfect with the grey! Because I love grey and brown as you could see here. A very Good Buy!

March’ theme will be: Winter coats!

Send your photo with a few sentences if it is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlights! Send it please before the 10th of each month to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to batennancy@gmail.com

By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for next month!

And now hop over to Shelbee’s blog to see what the other fashion bloggers are wearing!

Oh I just LOVE scarves; but I do find I really only wear them in fall and winter (and maybe a few of those really cold spring days).

Yes indeed, although I do love my thin leopard one.

There are so many fabulous scarves here! I love your gray and cognac one. I fell in love with that color combination about 30 years and still love it! Sally’s rainbow scarf is my favorite but I do love all them all because I just love scarves!

So glad to see all of these great scarf buys. I haven’t worn any of mine in a blue moon but need to before it gets too warm to do so. I tried the little kerchief look and that really suited our climate better than a full blown scarf. We rarely have a cold enough winter to warrant wearing a scarf.
Everyone looks marvelous and as always, you’ve inspired me!!

Thank you very much Leslie! Your climate sounds very good to me.

Hi, Nancy – Gee, the brown in your scarf looks like mocha mousse to me. Hahaha! But it looks like cognac to you. There are many beautiful shades of brown that look similar to mocha mousse that each of us can find to flatter our own palette. Love all these looks! – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

Noooo, haha, as long as I call it cognac it’s good for me, lol. Thanks Angie.
