I actually don’t wear mini skirts in summer. Hardly in winter either but in colder months I like it better with a legging and a cozy sweater. But with bare legs! No. So I bought these skirts on Vinted to wear at home on hot days. For when I want to read in the garden. And no one can see me…..lol. But I bet my blogging friends look fabulous in mini skirts!
Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series in February 2018, but we had been working together a year previous. So you can say we really like to host these series! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join us. The more the merrier!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book?
It is a collage of outfits from all different women! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We’ll keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc.
But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!
So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Mini skirts!
First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge
Once upon a time, I loved denim mini skirts so much that I had a whole pile of them. Now I have none because they no longer suit me. However, this particular jean skirt stands out as my favorite of all the denim mini skirts I used to own. I found it at a thrift store for a few dollars many years ago and I wore it frequently for many years. It was definitely a Good Buy even though I recently said Good-Bye to it.
Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style
I’m sending 2 photos of this good buy mini skirt that I thrifted in the kids’ section. While it may be a tad short to wear by itself, I’ve learned I can layer it and wear it as a top instead. Just me being the boss of my clothes.
Marsha of Marsha in the Middle
I don’t know that it, technically, is a mini skirt, but it’s short for me! I probably have many more on my old lap top. It’s the one I use to watch YouTube drag queens on!
Jacqui of Mummabstylish
I don’t usually wear mini skirts and this is the only one I have!
A denim skirt which I love.
Mireille of Chez Mireille
I don’t have much from Amazon, but I’ve had this little skirt for probably 5 to 7 years now. I wear it all year roud: a good buy!
Jamie, a reader
I would wear a mini skirt but not so much in public not being confident enough on how I look in a short skirt or dress. Short skirts in cooler weather or fine if I can wear tights as well that helps with the confidence issue.
I mean, look at those knees, I want to hide them really. Anywayyyy, this is not the way I wear it at home. I then wear a camisole and flip flops but you definitely don’t want to see that! So I styled this ,,fun,, mini skirt with sneakers and a biker jacket for a ,,cool,, look. A white bracelet and gold and white necklace to accentuate the white sneakers. I would love this look on a younger woman with better legs. So the skirt is not a Good Buy, but also not a Good-Bye because it is perfect to wear at home on hot days.
September’s theme will be: Joggers!
Send your photo with a few sentences if it is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlights! Send it please before the 10th of each month to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to batennancy@gmail.com

Thanks for joining us Jacqui!
Oh no, can’t do mini-skirts AT ALL! The longer the better for me and indeed have just recently got rid of some knee length, they have to be midi or near maxi for me.
But you all look absolutely lovely in short skirts – sigh! Of course, I did once wear minis but that was in the last century 🤣
Author
Hahaha, oh you are so funny Penny! And I’ll bet they looked stunning on you!
Ah, my mini skirt times are looong gone. Because I’m a sentimental fool, however, I still have one of them because I loved wearing it so much and mini skirts don’t take up much space 😂
There are no pictures, though, because I don’t like pictures of myself.

Thanks Cat!

So fun! I love how creative Jodie is with her skirts (and all of her clothing)! And your knees are just fine, my friend! Remember they have helped to carry you through life all these years. We must appreciate our knees for all the work they do for us!

Haha, that’s a way of seeing it! I shall try to remember that!
I love your mini skirt with the biker jacket! I don’t wear mini skirts much anymore because of my varicose veins. Hoping to take care of that this winter. Thanks for the link up!

Oh really? Gerben had that done too. Thanks Kathrine.
Mini skirts aren’t my jam so much these days – not entirely sure what my perfect length is though. I love seeing the contributions and reading their thoughts. When I think mini I think very short.

And when I think mini I think just above the knee, lol.
I think your skirt is really cute on you! I do wear skirts above my knees, especially when it’s hot out but the super short ones are not my jam!

Thanks Laura!
It’s a fun way to style a mini! I tend to wear mine for a date night or with a tee. I don’t wear shorter skirts as often as my maxi because it is easier to sit on the floor or anywhere it skirts are a little longer!

Indeed Mireille, I totally agree!
Yes to an above the knees skirt! But a mini-moni skirt not so sure about at this stage of my life. I love the ruffles in yours and how it pairs little girly with a casual kick back with sneakers and leather jacket. This is a favorite of mine!

Besides those ruffles are super fun.

Thanks Jodie! I will.
All of the ladies are rocking their minis! Yours is so cute, I love the way you styled it with sneakers and a biker jacket. I think my mini days are over, but I do love a knee length skirt, and am hearing in the fashion news that this length starting to come back for fall. Thanks for sharing and hosting the link up and challenge. I hope you have a great weekend!

Thank you very much Di!
Aw, I think everyone looks great in their mini skirts (though I don’t wear them either!).
Author
Thanks Joanne!
Hi, Nancy – You made this skirt YOU by adding the motorcycle jacket. Wonderful! Nowadays when I wear a short skirt with bare legs I keep my arms and/or neckline bare as well so that all the attention doesn’t go down to the legs. That and leg makeup. Thanks for the linkup! – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

Haha, leg makeup! My pleasure Angie!
I go back and forth with mini skirts depending on the year, but they are everywhere this season!
I hope you are having a great week so far!

Indeed, and all these kind a ruffled ones right! Thanks Amber.
Although I love mini skirts on others – including you – it’s been many years since I last wore a mini skirt. If I do wear a shorter skirt – and not even one I’d call a mini skirt – I’m wearing it with opaques in winter … xxx
Author
I do love them with opaques or even a legging.
I loved mini skirts when I was a teenager! I wore them with black hose and sneakers…I was a trendsetter back then! Now, most skirts are knee length on me unless I roll them up, and those days are behind me!

Haha, I wore them a lot in my late twenties. But never felt really comfortable in them as I already didn’t like my legs then.
How funny that everyone is saying in the comments how they love miniskirts but not their legs. Who cares? I am still wearing mine—life is short and so are the skirts!
