When I went to buy these shorts I also wanted to look for a maxi dress. I already bought this second hand one, but to be honest it is just a bit too tight and it is too neat. I actually wanted a simple maxi dress. More like a super long tee something. One that you can also wear to a festival. But I couldn’t find it. I didn’t get it, it’s summer, right? Where are all these simple beach, festival, relaxed kind a maxi dresses?
This is not a maxi dress!
Well, what I did came across was this dress. And on sale! And I never find anything I like on sale. What is also very funny is that a few months ago I bought a hair band with this print and these colors. So the dress immediately appealed to me, otherwise the hair band wouldn’t have appealed to me! This is a wonderful dress for cycling or wearing on a very warm summer evening. But it isn’t a maxi dress.
This dress is such a easy one
I wore it during a bbq with friends when it was 30 degrees celcius during the day. The dress is nowhere too tight, you can eat a lot and then you see nothing of it (also not unimportant if you are in menopause, by the way, google translated menopause as transition, I am not in transition!). And slippers or sandals look good underneath. So you don’t have to wear heels! I also wear a bracelet with shells. The trend in terms of bracelets this season. Actually the trend is to wear a lot together, but I would personally like that better in a solid outfit. With this dress I find it too busy to wear a lot of bracelets or necklaces. A beautiful white shell bracelet that recalls the lighter color in the dress.
Under the dress I wear a light orange pink shirt, also the same color as in the dress. I didn’t have to wear it for the weather, 30 degrees celcius, but I don’t like to wear a dress on my skin.
The sandals are actually a bit of a bad buy. My own fault because I once again settled for something that was not my first choice. I wanted to buy gold sandals, preferably without a heel. And I could only find beautiful ones with heels. But I didn’t want that because I don’t wear it enough. And then I saw these, rose gold colored (which I actually don’t like at all) and I just ordered them. I really wanted golden ones, and I don’t even remember for which outfit I wanted them.
Oh yes, I know now, it just comes to mind as I write it! I wanted to wear them with this skirt and because the skirt is also a bit of that color it seemed nice to me. Not! The sandals are only nice for indeed a bbq evening with friends where you want to take off your shoes immediately when you sit. I never really learn!
Would really appreciate it if you would share my outfit on Pinterest! Just hoover over the photo!
I would love it if you could follow me on Instagram!
Gosh, your headscarf looks like EXACTLY the same print! That’s amazing.
When Katie was little someone gave her a pretty dress for Easter and the fabric was EXACTLY the same as on a stuffed rabbit (wearing a romper) she already had. What are the odds?!?
Ugh, I just HATE when you buy something and it turns out to be all wrong and you’re stuck with it. Boo.

Haha, thats weird right! Yeah me too, what a waist.
What a wonderful coincidence that you found the scarf in that lovely pattern and then that breezy dress. Great job pairing it with the denim jacket. Darling look.

Such a cute dress – even if it’s not the maxi dress you were shopping for, it looks so nice for summer! 🙂 It looks great with the denim jacket too. Shame the shoes aren’t what you wanted either!
Hope that your week is off to a good start 🙂

Thanks Mica, and it is a perfect summer dress because it’s very floaty and thin.
It’s a perfect combination. Personally I love the sandals, Nancy!! Seriously. I think they are fun and go fabulously with that dress especially!!
And the headband. I want to do that now.
XOXO

Can you remember that we wore it like this when we were kids? I did, and this was the way I liked the best now!
I’m surprised that you didn’t find the maxi dress of your dreams, as the shops seem to be full of them. Oh, I’m sure you’ll find one in the end, but in the meantime, you’ve got the most wonderfully floaty midi summer dress! How amazing that your headscarf has the same print! And even if you’re not fond of the sandals, I actually like them! xxx

I”m glad you like them. They are not bad, but I had others in my head! And I did find another maxi dress, not thrifted though.
You look fabulous in this dress! Great find! I adore the addition of the denim jacket and head scarf.

Thanks, I tried the scarf in different ways and actually liked this one the best!
Beautiful floaty dress! I do that too, buy things I don’t really like, usually in thrift stores, but the same thing. When will we learn?! Hahaha. Although I don’t do it very much at all anymore. Maybe I am learning…
Author
Haha, there must come a time when we will learn right!
Such a pretty dress and I love it with the head scarf. Too bad the shoes are a bad buy because they sure are cute!

You’ve created a perfect outfit there Nancy with the rose gold sandals, head band and hoops. It looks very carefree and boho. I’m always buying things which weren’t really my top choice – and I am trying not to do it! Thanks for joining #WowOnWednesday!

Haha, glad I am not the only one!
Ik hou van de lengte, heel mooi. Lekker zwierig. Het stofje moet ik nog wel aan wennen, zou niet mijn keus zijn, echter jou staat het wel weer!

Nou het is ook een beetje te lief voor mij hoor. Ik zou hier het liefst cowboy laarzen onder dragen!
I really like this length in a dress. And the print is very pretty. Looks great with the denim jacket. And I really do like the sandals with it. On my monitor it looks like they match nicely!
Author
Thank you very much! They do match. I am a matchy matchy girl.
I just love this sweet dress – almost retro 1940s – and how you’ve styled it with the little scarf as I love that look, especially for summer! Thank you for sharing and enjoy the warm, sunny days!! Donna ??♀️❤️? https://donnadoesdresses.com
