How to wear a Dutch fashion designer

Dutch Fashion designer

Today I am wearing a pre loved dress from a Dutch fashion designer.

I live in a small country, but we produced amazing Dutch fashion designers. I mention a few: Viktor & Rolf, Claes Iversen, Iris van Herpen, Jan Taminiau, Spijkers & Spijkers, Fong Leng. And the list goes on for much longer. All designers who have made a name for themselves and have their own unique style.

Another Dutch fashion designer is Mart Visser. Not only does he design clothing, he is also an artist and recently he has his own furniture line. I’ll just stick with the clothes. I do like Mart Visser’s clothing. It is elegant and somewhat classic and fairly modest. Not many frills. I don’t like that. I like my fashion simple. The reason I fell for this dress is the same print in opposite colors. I once saw a Diane von Furstenberg dress that also had that and immediately fell in love with it. I’ll tell you even more, I have the dress! But that is a very nice story for next time.

This dress is pre loved and made of silk. So very thin and actually too cold for now, but that is something we can work on right? I just wear a basic shirt and a jacket over and done. I actually also wear a camisole! The dress is rather classic, Mart Visser designs are pretty classic, and I like to wear it a bit cooler. I love classic designs but for me it always has to add a bit of contrast. I do that by wearing patent leather leggings and black ankle boots. And a very cool military jacket.

Do you know any Dutch fashion designers? And if you do, who is your favorite? Perhaps you even own a garment from a Dutch fashion designer. Let me know, or even better show me on Instagram with #nancysstyleandyours

I don’t know any Dutch fashion designers – or I should say I didn’t know any until you just shared them! Honestly I am not really in the know when it comes to designers anywhere, they’re usually out of my price range! This looks great on you Nancy and you wear these pieces so well!

Just like Kellyan, I am not really in the know when it comes to designers anywhere, but I love the way you paired this dress with the military jacket, ankle boots and leather pants. Like you, I love contrasts and this outfit shows it very well! Besides, I like the idea of wearing outfits with two colors… like yours!

    Adriana.

Nancy, this dress is super cool! And I love the way you have styled it for cold weather. At first, I thought you were wearing over the knee boots. I didn’t realize it was leather leggings. Very sassy! I am not familiar with any Dutch designers, but I really like this dress, so I will have to do some homework on the topic! Thanks for linking up!

I love this look Nancy. It’s a wonderful dress and will be great for the warmer months too. I don’t think I know any Dutch fashion designers, but I’m pretty ignorant about designers in the first place.

Thanks Jodie. When I went to school I was totally ,,into,, designers from that time. Not that I wore them, but I was very interested in them.

That is a beautiful dress and I like the contrast of the prints together! I don’t have any Dutch fashion designer pieces in my wardrobe but maybe one day! 🙂 Aside from bags I don’t have much designer stuff!

Hope that your week is going well 🙂 It’s a busy week here as it’s my first week back at work after the Christmas break! I’ve got what I wore for Christmas up on the blog now.

I think that gorgeous dress has a certain edge to it, and I love how you elaborated on that by styling it with those patent leather leggings. I ‘m loving this monochromatic look! I’m ashamed to admit that apart from Viktor & Rolf, I didn’t know any of the designers you mentioned. Sorry! xxx

Gorgeous dress Nancy! It looks fabulous with the faux leather leggings. I love Scotch & Soda and Pom Amsterdam – I discovered them thanks to Jacynth at the Bias Cut 🙂
