Best of British: Match made in Seven

Seven Sisters Sussex

Best of British! A very original and topical theme. But how do we translate that into our blogs? Watch and see!

Welcome to the monthly edition of  Match made in Seven! We are a international group of fashion bloggers who meet once a month. One of us chooses a theme in turn, and that can be anything. A book, music, a color, a movie. And then we style an outfit based on that theme. The theme of this month is chosen by Anna and is: Best of British! Also take a look at the other bloggers how they have interpreted the theme this month.

My Best of British interpetation

With the current Brexit awareness, this is of course a very topical subject. The first thing I immediately thought of when Anna came up with this topic, to be very honest, was fish & chips, pubs, beach, sea. Very British for me of course but I am a fashion girl of course. And now I have to say that when I’m in England I don’t wear the coolest outfits, you know it has to be comfortable and warm. But today I show you a piece of “my” England in the outfits I was wearing! I really hope that the Brexit stuff will get a happy ending. At the end of May we are planning to go again and I am curious what kind of misery it will be in Calais. But it’s all worth it. As soon as we drive back to Dover I will be “home”!Hever castle England

Fish&chips Best of British

Yeah sorry, but fish&chips is one of my favorite food in the UK. This is in Bognor Regis.Best of British New Forrest

Best of British Arcade in Pagham

Of course there had to be a arcade

Brighton Best of British

My favorite town: Brighton!

And of course there are so many Best of British places and food and pubs for me. I love New Forrest and have a pick nick between the wild horses. I love wildlife parks with otters and foxes. I love a good pub on a Saturday afternoon when all the locals celebrate their weekend. I love the o so friendly British people who always have time for a chat. And I can go on for hours to name all that is so beautiful about England. I lost my heart to this wonderful country decades ago!

And now take a look at how my lovely blogger friends interpreted Best of British!

Nancy, what a great way to interpret Best of British! Yes, fish and chips and pubs!! I kept thinking of Twiggy and Kate Middleton and knew I couldn’t pull them off! Haha! You look very stylish on your trips to England, too.

Now, I wonder what next month will bring…

Thanks Gail! I not only like England, I want to be British! haha. It’s a old skirt that I had to throw away as it was all worn out. I have worn it on the part of the blog that I lost.

How lucky you were to have the weather be kind to you. The UK is a beautiful country with such a varied landscape. We are not long home from our latest Jilly’s Jaunts. Exhausted and in need of another break after so much travelling in the states but had a fabulous time. Love – Jill stylishatsixty.wordpress.com

Fish and chips are definitely the epitome of britishness. I also lo e that so many of your pictures are of places in Kent, my home county, especially Hever which was just up the road from me when I was a kid.

This is a lovely link up idea. I absolutely love that first photograph. It really looks like you’re holding that lighting house. Our lighting houses are different, they’re typically made from stone and they look a lot like regular Mediterranean stone houses, just with a tower. I’d love to visit Britian some day. I’ve been planning it for ages, but something always comes up. Great list of British favs. I studied English so obviously English history and culture is something that interests me. Nothing wrong with enjoying a bit of fish& chips. I hope you’ll enjoy your next visit to Britain.

It was fun seeing all of the places you have traveled to, Nancy! It’s funny how I didn’t even think of foods, tea or places to visit in the UK with this theme! I didn’t think of clothing brands either, ha! My mind went straight to books and Princess Diana! You did a great job!
