Back to normal life again & Fancy Friday linkup party

back to normal life again

And then the holidays were over and normal life began again! Nothing wrong with that, of course. But while I’d hoped for a quiet week, it wasn’t. Mind you, to you (healthy people) it might sound like a quiet week. For someone with limited energy, it’s not. In any case, there were a lot of mails to answer and things to arrange. Just simple things, but you have to make time for them. And all those little things together are a lot. That meant I was busy all week doing things on my laptop and householding. And I have a new laptop, so I had to make some adjustments to that as well.

And what is normal life for me?

Mondays always start with working out, doing laundry, emailing, and updating the blog. In the afternoon, I had to go to the GP to get a pneumococcal vaccine. The transplant team required it. Tuesday also started with working out, but this time in a group physiotherapy session at the gym. That means that the others are the group and I do my own thing, lol. I can’t be bothered with balance exercises and all that, just give me some dumbbells and I am happy.

And then I started feeling pain in my arm from the vaccine. I was in terrible pain for three days, and there was a red band around my arm. When the pain subsided, I had two days of incredibly sore muscles in my legs. I don’t think I’ve ever had this much pain and aginy from a vaccine.

The rest of the normal life week consisted of ironing, cleaning, and going to the nail stylist. She always has a huge tin of candy standing at the table. The problem with candy is that once I start, I can’t stop. So I behaved and didn’t get anything. I still regret it now, haha.

Working out and being busy with every day’s chores

Oh yeah, and on Thursday I found the door at the physiotherapist’s gym closed again. My group starts at 9:30, but I always start 45 minutes earlier. And then they often forget to tell me if there’s no physiotherapist there that early, to open the door. So back home and working out there. Saturday always starts with working out too, and in the evening we went out for dinner with friends.

We had a delicious and extensive meal. It was a full evening program, which I love. Sunday mornings are for a leisurely breakfast, followed by brushing the cats. It was rainy, so we decided not to go out. Mostly, when we don’t have any visits planned or having guests, we go cycling or to the national park. But we did visit my in-laws. They had COVID-19 two weeks ago, at 87 and 89. But thankfully, they looked fine! That was my normal life week again. On to a truly quiet week……she says. No appointments from Monday onward, which is very nice. But we will see how the week goes!

And now it is time to join a Fancy Friday Fashion party!

Every Friday you can put your blog, or social media account, in the spotlights and meet other bloggers. Even if you’re not a blogger you can join! But it is a fun way to let others know about your blog posts, and to support each other. It would be nice if you would comment when you join the linkup party. I also pin my favourite on Pinterest.

Nancy, it sounds like a busy week, even while settling back into routine! Those small daily tasks really do pile up. Your outfits look lovely, especially the navy dress with burgundy nails. Wishing you a calmer week ahead, and thanks for hosting!

I enjoy hearing about your week! My week was fairly busy and I thought today would be quiet, but my phone won’t turn on! So I will need to wait till the place opens to bring my phone in (will that mean I get a new phone today?) because I sure need it to work! Groceries were on the agenda this morning.

Nancy, you always look so good and healthy, it takes me a moment to realize you are facing serious health challenges. I realize that many things that don’t seem like a big deal for most, are for you. I admire you for pushing through the difficulty!

Love all your looks in this post! You are workout machine Nancy. I sometimes get soreness from vaccines as well. One time I had a sore bruised arm from a flu shot for 3 weeks! Thanks so much for the feature.

Hi Nancy, I enjoy hearing about your daily life! You look stylish in all of your outfits, even those for every day indoors I love you’re going out outfit for dinner. Hope you have a lovely time and settle back into a more quiet, less hectic routine. I had a similar response from my flu shot this year. It was very surprising that those vaccines can be so painful and can put you out for several days. You look great, and I admire how strong you are handling all of the issues of your illness. Take care and hope you have a lovely weekend!

It’s always a pain to come back to normal life after a holiday, and particularly so if you’ve got a busy week ahead.
I’m sorry to read you were in such agony after the vaccine! And I’m exactly the same with candy. I try to avoid it as much as I can but sometimes cravings got the better of me 🙂 xxx

I always feel like I am busiest right before and right after a vacation. It seems like no matter how hard i work to get ahead before leaving I feel like I’m behind when I get home. So sorry to hear the vaccine side effects were so bad this time.

I definitely feel like I need a few days at least to catch up on life when I get back from a vacation—I can relate! Sometimes it’s nice to get back into a routine, though. Hope you feel settled soon!
