Oh yes, it is almost Christmas, and before we know it it will be over! Lol. So let’s enjoy this time of the year extra! I can easily say that, as I am all ready for it. I have everything in order! We had another lovely, quiet weekend ahead of us with no plans, last weekend, except for putting up the Christmas tree. For some reason, I always hate to do that. But I always love it when it’s done, and especially when there’s all this Christmas music on the radio! Yeah, Mariah, Sir Paul, Chris, bring it on!
Almost Christmas and the tree is up!
- Sunday’s breakfast! But it taste way much better in England of course!
- We made , Gerben, fish taco’s on Saturday. We discovered this dish in Dungeness.
- So delicious! And I had 0% rose wine, not to bad I have to say.
- Fried rice, sateh, and Gado Gado. Indonesian food, I can eat that every day.
So on Saturday first working out, of course. Then putting up the tree and some Saturday chores. In the evening, we had fried rice and gado gado with satay. Sooooo delicious, but a lot of work. On Sunday morning, the sun was shining beautifully, so I suggested we go for a bike ride. But before we were done with everything, it was 3:30 pm, and the sun was long gone. So we decided to take a detour to my in-laws’ because I wanted some fresh air. Well, I got some fresh air! It was only 6 degrees Celsius, 42 degrees Fahrenheit, and there was a strong wind blowing, which, of course, was against us.
We only cycled for 20 minutes. And yet, it was nice, but very cold. But I was proud that I had done it. I always think beforehand that I can’t do things anymore. That I get to out of breath, or whatever. So it is always a obstacle to go outt off my house. As for cycling in the cold, I just can’t get warm. And cycling doesn’t warm me up at all.
Let me try to explain that in a very simple way. Because my body isn’t getting enough oxygen anyway, all that oxygen goes straight to the organs. First the heart and brain, then the lungs, and then the rest. When I’m cold, my body doesn’t have any extra oxygen to warm up and my saturation drops because it has to work so hard to get warm. So if I get cold from cycling, for example, I stay cold for hours afterward. Very annoying. So I ate the box of chocolates at my in-laws’ house as a consolation, lol.
What did I do the rest of the week
- Our tree…….and the gifts!! What is in it for me, lol!
- I sat outside on Monday after working out. There is a spot where there is for 1,5 hour the sun when it is winter.
- Wore this outfit 3 times last week……..what can I say, I am not adventures……
- Tickets inn the pocket for festival weekend with Paul and Celina next summer!
Monday was the usual Monday routine. And I sat outside in the sun for a bit. Tuesday I had an appointment to have my eyebrows touched up. I do that annually, microblading. Ideal, you never have to touch up again with a pencil or powder. On Wednesday, Gerben and I had to go to the notary to sign our wills. Afterward, we went to a furniture store because we want new furniture.
We’ve had mostly white in our interiours for most of our lives together, and now we want something different. We spent four hours there and have some ideas, but I’m afraid it’ll be a while before we’ve made up our minds. Thursday working out and do household chores and Friday to the nailstylist and some more household chores. I want everything ready because it is …..almost Christmas!
- Sunrise on Thursday morning, isn’t it gorgeous!
- The sofa we liked a lot, but it is very dark. And we come from a white interiour.
- I want a screen like that!
And now it is time to join a Fancy Friday Fashion party!
Every Friday you can put your blog, or social media account, in the spotlights and meet other bloggers. Even if you’re not a blogger you can join! But it is a fun way to let others know about your blog posts, and to support each other. It would be nice if you would comment when you join the linkup party. I also pin my favourite on Pinterest.

A quiet weekend during advent time always sounds good to me! Enjoy it!

I certainly will Cat!
You’re very brave doing a bike ride in December! Particularly as it takes a long time for your body to warm up. I often look longingly outside when it’s a blue sky day but we don’t cycle until late Feb.

Well, it was very short Gail. Although we try to cycle for about a hour in winter when it is sunny and above 10 degrees.
I think you deserved the chocolates at your in-laws. It’s a good feeling to know you’re all ready for the festivities, isn’t it? Xx

It is Louise, I feel so relaxed now and really can enjoy this yytime of the year to the fullest!
You’re so good, going for a cycle like that, especially when it’s so cold and how it affects you, Nancy!
We were supposed to have two Christmas parties last week, one at our house and another at the neighbours but both were cancelled because of flu (my flu, that is!). Such a bummer!
Christmas is very quiet for us with friends going away. But I’m hoping to do something nice on Boxing Day as it will be my 50th birthday!!
Merry Christmas to you and Gerber. I hope it’s wonderful festive season!
Big hugs

Thank you very much Jill.
That couch does look nice but I can see it being too dark for a light interior.

It sounds like you are ready for Christmas! I’m glad you got out and biked but sorry it was a little chilly for you afterwards. Merry Christmas to you and Gerben!

I am all done preparing for Christmas and I am in the quiet waiting part. On Sunday, when the whole crew arrives for the week, I will probably be longing for some of this peace I am bored and lonely with now…ha ha. Thanks for the party. And I can’t believe you biked in 40 degree weather…wow! I could never do that.

Haha, yes I know that I will be very happy after Christmas just spending a day alone! Thanks Amy!
Your post is cozy and lively. I like how you mix everyday life with holiday excitement. The way you describe cycling in the cold and then treating yourself to chocolates makes it very relatable, and your enthusiasm for Christmas and little rituals like microblading and decorating the tree really brings the season to life.

As much as I love furniture shopping it can take us forever to make a decision too. I think I’m as ready for the holidays as I can get though I will need to grocery shop and there are a couple of gifts that haven’t come in yet that still need to be wrapped.

You still have time! Have a great weekend.
It is always difficult for us to choose furniture we agree on! We will be getting a new sofa next spring for our upstairs media area and we’ll see how long it takes us to agree on something! I haven’t spent as much time outside as I should even though the weather is pretty nice. I need to slow down a little.

WE have the luck that we share the same style taste. But still, there are so many choices!
Well done for putting up the tree – ours is up too, but Bess is intent on destroying it before it’s even Christmas 🙂
Well done for cycling in that cold weather too. It must be frustrating to be feeling the cold for hours afterwards, though. You definitely deserved those chocolates! xxx

It is Ann. I thought so too! Thank you very much!
Is that first picture of your Christmas card with the kitties? So cute! It sounds like you are super organized and ready for the holiday. I have to say that I am not, still lots to do, I got behind due to illness. We did get the tree up though-yours is so pretty all in red! Hope you are having a lovely holiday. Thanks for sharing and hosting the link up.

Yes these are our cats. Oh, I hope you do feel better Di. Thank you very much.
I don’t blame you for eating the chocolate – you earned it with the bike ride! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

I love shopping for furniture, but it takes me forever to make up my mind. We really don’t need any, but I’d love to shop for some. Want me to come on over? I can’t believe you biked in weather that chilly! Good for you! And, I would have had several pieces of chocolate to celebrate. I really like your new format, Nancy! And, thanks for the link up!

Sounds like you had a great week as you get ready for Christmas! What a cheerful post – other than not being able to get warm. I have that sometimes but it is from thyroid issues.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas day!

Oh yes, I remember that too. Thank you very much Lisa.
