Slingbacks-The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book

cover for The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book

I love slingbacks! I think they’re such an elegant and super feminine shoe. But styling them in a cold autumn month can be a challenge. Shall we see who dares to wear them?

Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series in February 2018, but we had been working together a year previous. So you can say we really like to host these series! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join us. The more the merrier!

What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book?

It is a collage of outfits from all different women! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We’ll keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc.

But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!

So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Slingbacks!

First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge

golden slingbacks

I really liked these gold slingbacks when I purchased them but the peep toe style proved to be incredibly uncomfortable. I only wore them a few times before saying Good-Bye to them.

Marsha of Marsha in the Middle

green slingbacks

These are my Rockport Cobb Hill Aubrey shoes. I also have them in a camel color because they’re so comfortable yet pretty!

Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style

leopard print slingbacks

Here is a pair of leopard print sling backs that I have had for over ten years.

Maybe I don’t wear them all the time, but they certainly have lasted. And I still love them.

Di of Di-alog
white slingbacks
This outfit  features a pair of white patent leather Mary Jane sling backs with low block heels. I am wearing these shoes back in June, in this photo, with a white short sleeve safari jacket, and a black and white tropical print wrap skirt. I would consider these shoes a good bye so far. I have only had them a year. They are very comfortable, and I wore  them quite often during the summer months.

And here are my slingbacks

camouflage and pink outfit

Why on earth did I sell these? They were so comfortable and lovely. And although this photo is years old, I still love the look!  I think I almost never wore these slingbacks. My feet did not look good in them. So these were a Good-Bye.

December’s theme will be: Wrap dresses!

Send your photo with a few sentences if it is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlights! Send it please before the 10th of each month to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to batennancy@gmail.com

By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for next month!

And now hop over to Shelbee’s blog to see what the other fashion bloggers are wearing!

I can’t remember ever having worn, much less owned a pair of slingbacks. I can’t even wear sandals. I immediately get blisters and become very whiny.
Still fun to see how they work for all of you! 🙂

Nancy, thanks for co-hosting and including me in this fun challenge. I love sling back shoes! Yours are beautiful, so sorry you have sellers regret! All of the participants selections look great. I am looking forward to next month’s challenge, because I have a few wrap dresses in my closet! Hope you have a good weekend and week to come!

Your feet did look good in those shoes, and it was fun to see the options everyone sent in.

I’ve got a couple of pairs of slingbacks but they’ve been stashed away for autumn/winter …
I particularly love Marsha’s shoes, although I’m not sure they are actually slingbacks. That colour, though! xxx

Well it is Autumn Ann. Get them out! I love that colour too, very cool.

This was a fun prompt. I have always thought slingbacks were more like Jodie’s than mine. But, after seeing the shoes Shelbee had posted in her call-out, I thought I’d give it a try. I don’t know that I’ve ever had slingbacks like Jodie’s! I’ve already sent Shelbee a wrap dress, and just sent you one! Hopefully, I’ll remember that I’ve already done it when you send out the reminders!

These are so pretty but I can certainly understand how styling them this time of year in the colder weather would be tricky. I don’t own any slingbacks but I do like the look of them. I typically don’t wear much of anything with a heel or straps around my heels as they really bother my feet. I can’t wait to see what everyone shares for wrap dresses!
