I want to do things a little differently on my blog, it’s time for a switch. First of all, it’s quite tiring for me to take outfit photos like we do now. It’s not possible during the week because Gerben has to work, of course, and I’m too tired in the evenings. Only Saturday remains. Since I work out on Saturday mornings, I’m already quite tired in the afternoon, and if we have an appointment in the evening, I need to save my energy for that.
Also, I find the photo quality very poor because I resize them. And I can’t find a good way to keep my photos sharp and have low KBs. Also, or perhaps this comes first actually, I’ve been looking back at some Throwback Tuesday posts lately, and I actually really enjoyed that.
Is it time for a switch?
So what I want to do is share more everyday things with you, outfits of course too, but more selfies. But also very simple photos of what I did that day, or what I ate, and things like that. I actually find that much more fun at the moment. And of course, I hope you agree! I’ll continue posting on Fridays and will definitely host the Fancy Friday linkup party, as I still enjoy doing that. And when I do feel like it, I publish a outfit post, just like I have done for years. Just depends on how much energy I have.
So it will be a mix of things. I’m a person who likes stability and I’m not fond of change. Now, I do think change is good, but it always takes me a while to get used to it. So this change is a bit of a challenge for me too. Silly, right? I mean, we all blog because we’re passionate about it. And if a different approach makes you happier, it’s not so hard, you’d think. Anyway, that is the change that will be here on my blog.
What happened in my life last week
- At the meeting for heart and lung patients who are on the transplant list less then a year.
- We saw a lot of rainbows on our way back home.
Last Saturday we had a gathering for people who have been on the heart or lung transplant list for less than a year. We were divided into two groups, with the partners separated. This was very important I thought, because the partners also need to be able to share their story. It was nice to talk to others in the same situation. On Sunday, we celebrated my mother-in-law’s birthday, who is 87. I wore the outfit shown above. Four generations together! So nice.
Afterward, I had three wonderfully peaceful days, I didn’t have to leave the house because the gym was closed and I had no other appointments. Of course, I did work out at home. Turned out to be very busy days, how the hell did that happen?
Yesterday we had an appointment with the notary. Our wills are over 30 years old, and some things needed to be updated. Time for a switch so to speak! In the afternoon, we had to get our flu shot, and in the evening I had a meeting. Today is my cleaning day, I think it’s going to be the least busy day of the week, lol. As you can see at the featured photo, Castor(on the right) is finally eating out of his chip feeding bowl! And gaining weight!
- Saturday night at home, I love it!
- At my mother in law’s birthday. With four generations!
And now it is time to join a Fancy Friday Fashion party!
Every Friday you can put your blog, or social media account, in the spotlights and meet other bloggers. Even if you’re not a blogger you can join! But it is a fun way to let others know about your blog posts, and to support each other. It would be nice if you would comment when you join the linkup party.
My Fancy Friday Favourite of last week is: Di of Di-alog
I would also appreciate if you shared a link to Nancy’s Fashion Style in your post or give a little shout out on social media to promote the Fancy Friday linkup party! And now share your post!
By joining the Fancy Friday party, you agree to receive a weekly reminder email for the linkup party.
I think the changes will be fantastic! I have done pretty much the same over the last year: fewer fashion posts, more books, more lifestyle. It’s amazing how you fit so much into your days. I’m in awe of you. BTW, I have exactly the same concerns about my photos!
I enjoyed your post today: little bits of everything! As your readers are from different parts of the world, some moms some not, some younger, some older, I think whatever you choose to do will keep our interest! I think you will enjoy it more as it fits your life right now.

I like the change! My husband and I were just talking yesterday about making an appointment to change our will now that the boys are all legal adults and so much has changed since our last update.
Well, as you know my own blog is quite a wild mix (even if I don’t like talking about myself much), so that’s actually something I really like. I’m looking forward to it!
You do what’s the most fun for you.
I love the change and would love to see more of your life Nancy! I adore this monochromatic look. Thanks so much for the link up!

I think these changes are good! I love posts that share everyday life! Your black and brown outfit is so chic!

I think it would be nice to get to know your life outside of blogging a bit! The best part of blogging is that you are your own boss and can switch it up!
