It wasn’t that hard to choose this theme, asymmetrical, because I am so in love with it. I have always loved uneven hemlines of skirts and dresses, but I now also love one shoulder and other asymmetrical tops. I didn’t years ago, that is to say, I didn’t think it looked good on me. And it is a trend! Not that that mathers in any way.
Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series after we had hosted The Bad Buy Book for a year. Now we are ready for a new challenge! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book about?
It is a collage of outfits! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We will keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc.
But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!
So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Asymmetrical!
First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge

This dark green high-low formal dress was gifted to me through a brand collaboration many years ago. Although I didn’t actually buy it for myself, I would consider it a Good Buy if I had because I have worn it a lot! It can be dressed up or down, but mostly I have worn it dressed up. I love the color and the unique hemline!
Jacqui of Mummabstylish

I fell for these two dresses for a holiday to Abu Dhabi a while back, both looked super on and I felt really special in them both – again not my usual go to, but found they looked very flattering on.
Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style

This top was a good buy because it’s light enough to make it asymmetrical by tucking part of it into my waistband.
While I do have some tops that are asymmetrical on their own, it’s nice to know the tricks to transform what we already have!!!
Anna of Looking Fabulous @ Fifty

I like the cut of tis silk skirt and mix of yellow, black and white and I can wear it all year around.
Laura of I DO deCLAIRE

I really hadn’t given much thought to off the shoulder tops being asymmetrical but once it was mentioned I just knew I had a bunch of them. I love the one shoulder style and this adorable polka dot shirt has been a repeat in my summer wardrobe for a few years now– in fact I can’t even remember when or where I got it! It has been such a good buy and it’s so easy to style with white capri pants and some simple jewelry.
And here are my asymmetricals

September’s theme will be: Denim skirts!
And now hop over to Shelbee’s blog to see what the other fashion bloggers are wearing!
Send your photo with a few sentences if it is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlights! Send it please before the 10th of each month to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to batennancy@gmail.com
By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for next month!

And very creative! Like Jodie is! Thanks love.
I think the majority of my dresses are asymetrical! I think it is a very flattering cut and also fun!

I totally agree! Thanks Mireille!
I’m not a big fan of assymetrical garments, so consequently I have none in my wardrobe. I can’t believe you got rid of that blue dress on the top row though! Ooh, denim skirts next month. I’ll make a notation so that I remember! xxx

You do that Ann! Well, that one wasn’t my favourite at all.
I’m wearing an asymmetrical dress today – dang, I have got to be more on my game for this series. I’ve got a good excuse, though – I’m working on my mom’s book!
Everyone looks amazing! well done!

You really did have quite the collection. That’s one reason I hate to purge, because at some time I miss the pieces, LOL

Everyone looks terrific in their asymmetrical looks. Seems like this is a trend that everyone has had a good experience with. And woo hoo!! Denim skirts next month. Would love to join you gals. I have a denim skirt I need to wear more often.

You are very welcome to join us Leslie!
I never thought about one shoulder tops being asymmetrical but I guess they are! I missed this one and will probably miss the next as I just don’t have that many denim skirts.
