My workout wear is not worth showing actually, but hey, it was our theme about a year ago. And I just wanted to show you what clothes I actually wear when I go to the gym and when I exercise at home. I can also show you what I’m wearing when I relax on the couch with a book, but believe me when I say that it certainly doesn’t look flourishing. So…… my dear fashion friends are luckily a lot better dressed in their workout wear!
Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series after we had hosted The Bad Buy Book for a year. Now we are ready for a new challenge! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book about?
It is a collage of outfits! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We will keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc. But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!
So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Workout Wear!
First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge

The raspberry colored workout leggings were a great buy from Old Navy quite a few years ago. I bought them on clearance for less than $10 and they were my favorite workout leggings until I lost too much weight and they started looking a little too baggy for leggings. I recently passed them on to my dear friend Becca and now they are one of her favorite pairs of leggings, too. Definitely worth the $10!
Joanne of Slices of Life

Another favorite hiking outfit (my only workout wear!) for this time of year is my fleece lined leggings paired with this cowl neck sweatshirt. I bought the fleece lined leggings on Amazon last year and I wear them all fall and winter long. They are so nice and warm. This sweatshirt was one I bought after a trip to New Hampshire, where I purchased the same sweatshirt (at another LL Bean outlet) in a pale green color that I liked so much I came home and bought it in this pretty purple color and a “Nantucket” red color as well. Both these staple pieces to my wardrobe were good buys since I get so much use out of them.

Thanks so much for inviting me to join this discussion. These are all my favorite work out leggings. But because I don’t like to sweat I just don’t work out but if I did these would be my favorites…Danskin Supplex Tights Women’s Leggings (with the white sweatshirt) and Under Armour Women’s Heatgear (with the black sweatshirt).
A couple years back, I remember watching Good Morning America, and a segment about which store had the best quality leggings with the best elasticity, and it was Target, so I’ve been wanting to get my hands on some to try out. I tested out 3 pairs of Target active leggings, and I have the answer to the question, are $40 Target active leggings worth it? The short answer – no. Sadly, I had to say Good Bye to the All in Motion Premium, All in Motion Contour Flex Ultra High Waisted and the All in Motion Seamless High-Rise Leggings. The last one was a hard no from the start because they were super unflattering, but the others lasted 4 washes each, and then lost their elasticity. Bummer!!
I love getting creative with any kind of clothing and workout gear is no different. Would you have realized that this “top” is actually my swim tankini?? Why not wear it for everyday??
Which may make you realize that I consider this a Good Buy!!
And here I am in my workout wear!

I always wear a hoody jacket and sweatpants when I work out. Underneath a simple basic shirt. When I buy a new hoodie and sweatpants for the gym, the old ones go on for working out at home. Often the sweatpants are a bit worn out and the hoody a bit pilled. But I think that’s good enough for home. This is the outfit for working out at home. On Shelbee’s bog I wear what I wear to the gym!
I really love work out wear and could wear it everyday but not for working out but for my street wear. What could more comfortable then a second skin fit of your favorite leggings.

It is! And thank you for participating!
Thank you for keeping it real and showing you your workout gear, Nancy. I do not own any workout clothes, as walking is my only workout, I’m afraid 🙂 I do think workout clothes should be just functional but I know fashion dictates certain trends here as well. Nevertheless, I still haven’t seen any workout clothes that I actually love looking it 🙂 xxx

I agree that workout wear should be as comfortabe as can. I dot need to be fashionable when working out!
I have added some fun colorful leggings to work out the last few years. The only things is that I like to match so sometimes choosing a top that it not black is a little difficult.

It is fun to see everyones workout looks! Jodie is so creative with her swim top, I would have never guessed. I think at home workout clothes should be the more worn, cozy ones! Ha, ha! So, I am all with you on that!
