Well that’s a long time since you seen me wearing a mini skirt, and that at 57! More on that later.
It’s hard to believe that Christmas is almost upon us again. Wow, this year has gone by so quickly. And I’m glad too because it wasn’t the best year for Gerben and me. But I’m really looking forward to Christmas. All the decorations in the house always cheer me up, and unwrapping presents, spending time with family. I love it all, even the Christmas songs on the radio, can’t hear Mariah enough this time of the year.( only this time of the year….). But I am also always happy when everything can go out of the house, or in boxes again.
Shall I wear a mini skirt at 57 with Christmas?
Because I am not only minimalistic in my looks but also in my interior. This will be the first Christmas with Jack and I fear that something will break and that the plant sprayer will have to be at hand. I started buying presents quite early and making plans, so I find it all very relaxed. We have the days packed surounded by the people we love! Normally I want to make Christmas plans at the end of October preferably. But I’m trying to unlearn that because my whining about Christmas dinner in early November drives everyone a bit nuts.
I don’t even know what I’m going to wear yet. I actually decide that on the morning itself. What I will be wearing depends on my state of mind. But isn’t this mini skirt a good contender? It’s been a long time since I wore a shorter skirt. And I actually bought two! A denim one too! And I find that one so cool, haha, might be the only one!
Can you wear a mini skirt at 57
Shall we talk about that? Really? No, we are not going there! I mean, we all know and agree on that we can wear what we like. And I felt like wearing a mini skirt at 57! I only like to wear them in winter though. With thick leggings or tights. And I bought this one and the other one on Vinted. Because I wasn’t sure weather I would like to wear a mini skirt. But I do. Especially a plaid one. It’s so ,winterish,.
But as I told you, I am a minimalist and the best way for me to wear this mini skirt is with simple black pieces and little accessories. Well, I never exaggerate with that anyway.
I wish you all a fabulous Christmas. I hope you can enjoy it with family or friends. Don’t take times like these for granted, it’s special, don’t take the people you love for granted.

Love your styling of the skirt – I prefer short, I’m only 5’4, but longer skirts have been the news for the last couple of years. I buy all my presents in Oct/Nov too. Have a wonderful Christmas!

I love your outfit/ mini skirt. I think we should all wear what makes us happy, it’s taken me a long time to wear certain styles which I wouldn’t have probably touched a few years ago. Midlife has made me more brave and at 63 I love wearing mini skirts. It’s just a number. Have a wonderful Christmas Nancy and thank you for the link up.

This style looks great on you Nancy! I agree, wear what makes you happy, at any age. I prefer to wear knee length and above the knee styles. They suit me better than midi’s and maxi’s which tend to swallow me up! I hope you and
Gerben have a wonderful holiday and enjoy happiness and health in the new year!

OH yes, I think this outfit it definitely a contender! I rarely pick out my holiday outfit ahead of time either since what I wear can really change with my mood or the weather. But I do try to have a few different outfit ideas in mind.

Yes me too, otherwise it will be a war at the morning itself!
I absolutely love this look! With all the black in the outfit, the skirt’s subtle plaid gets the attention without being overwhelming – a very successful minimalist outfit.
Author
Thanks Sally, that was the intention, to let the plaid shine!
I really have been loving shorter skirts so I can show off my tights or tall boots. This is such a great outfit.

Looking very nice (respectfully) in that mini-skirt and you can wear anything you want. I am basically 55 (will be next month) and I wear what I please. I am at the point of ,my life where I follow my own rules.
Thanks for hosting and Merry Christmas to you and your family.

That’s a very good rule Patrick! I totally agree!
Merry Christmas, Nancy! You look fabulous in this adorable plaid mini skirt. Of course, you can wear a mini skirt at any age, but you already knew that! I really like your necklace, too. I just got a similar style necklace for Christmas! (I bought it for myself in Asheville when we visited there in October). I also started my Christmas shopping really early and wrapped each gift as soon as I brought it into the house, It definitely made this holiday season super relaxed! Many blessings to you and Gerben and Jack!

And Castor! Lol. Thanks love. I really enjoyed the time before Christmas as it was so relaxed. Will start next year as early as possible!
Of course, age has got nothing whatsoever to do with what you want to wear, and I’m absolutely loving that look!
I hope you, Gerben and the cats had a wonderful Christmas, and that Jack was on his best behaviour 😉 xxx
Author
Haha, thanks! Yes Jack did behave, there were only a few times when I needed the plant sprinkler.
Nancy, you are gorgeous and have fabulous legs so you wear those mini skirts! I used to buy my Christmas gifts early, too. But, retailers are really cracking down on return windows so I can’t start before November. We had a wonderful Christmas with all the kids, bonus kids, and grands! Everyone was happy, and no one was upset with their gifts.
Have a wonderful holiday season, Nancy, and thanks for the link up!

A little to the party , I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Nancy. The shorter skirt looks so good on you and you have great legs so go ahead , age has nothing to do with it.

I still enjoy wearing miniskirts, Nancy, but like you, I prefer them with tights. I love your cute outfit – this is very much a formula I wore a lot in the late 90s (black turtleneck, bright/patterned skirt/black tights and shoes).
Happy belated Christmas to you and Gerben and Jack!

Haha, I wore it all my life! Still love it alot, thanks!
