Don’t you just love a denim skirt? And don’t you remember you already wore them when you were a child? I do! And they have always been in my wardrobe. I wished I had a photo of me wearing one as a little girl. But you have to do with me at 57! Have to get used to that number, it’s only been two weeks….
So! Back from a vacation, had the best time at Hastings beach for three days! Haha, I don’t think I’d ever spent more then one day in a row at a English beach. But we had a fabulous time, and I am ready to get into ,normal, life again.
Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series after we had hosted The Bad Buy Book for a year. Now we are ready for a new challenge! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book about?
It is a collage of outfits! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We will keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc. But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!
So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Denim skirts!
First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge

The first time I wore this preloved white denim skirt, it got filthy with black smudges. I was ready to get rid of it because I could not get it clean, but I decided to dye it instead. Now I love it! A little bit of dye made this bad buy a good buy!
Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style

I’m including this denim mini skirt that I ended up transforming to a midi skirt (shown in Shelbee’s post). It’s definitely a great buy now that I am wearing it more.
Laura of I Do deCLAIRE

Although I think I’ve only shared this on my blog once, it was a good buy! It’s great quality, very comfortable, and I like that the bottom 3 buttons work, but the rest are sewn shut so I can show a little leg if I want, but never too much. Haha!
John Doe, a loyal reader

The first time wearing a denim skirt and it was like mid November 2022 and it snowed that day. Well I wished I dressed in my cosy warm fleece lined leggings that morning because I was freezing to death. To make it double cold I chose 20 denier silk stockings that didn’t offer any warmth to my legs. But they seem to really go good with the skirt so why not.
Di of Di-alog

Here are photos of two of my outfits with denim skirts. I consider them both to be good buys, since I have had them in my wardrobe for several years, and love wearing them year round. I think a denim skirt is a great timeless and seasonless choice!
And here is my denim skirt

This is a photo of about 8 years ago. I loved this skirt a lot so it was definitely a Good Buy! I used to love these kind a pencil skirts. But this one especially because of the buttons and the 70s vibe. I still love everything about this outfit. But only own the boots now. The skirt became to tight over years.
October’s theme will be: Brown!
Note: I know that there are women who want to participate but forget to send in. This is such a pitty as we are doing our very best to keep the blogging ,world, alive. We love to have a diversity of women showing their style, it’s inspiring, it’s fun. But we can’t do that without you! So please write a note on your calendar to join us! Hope to see you next month!
And now hop over to Shelbee’s blog to see what the other fashion bloggers are wearing!
Send your photo with a few sentences if it is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlights! Send it please before the 10th of each month to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to batennancy@gmail.com

I love denim and should have sent a photo as I found a midi-length denim skirt not so long ago and have worn it quite a bit. It’s a bit scruffy though so I don’t wear it for best!
Thanks for hosting 🙂

Oh Penny, you should have sent it in! Perhaps next month with brown!
I love all the denim skirts everyone shared especially Jodie’s transformed one! Definitely check out the updated version on my blog, it is so stinking cute! The pencil style denim skirts are all so pretty. I had a few of them but never really liked them on me so they were all bad buys and have since been donated! I am looking forward to seeing all the shades of brown next month! Happy weekend, my friend.

Thank you Andrea!
I am so bummed I missed this one, I swear time escapes me. Such a good theme because denim skirts have changed a bit. The shorter ones don’t work on me but my longer one is one I love!
Thanks for the link up Nancy and I need to remember the theme for next time and send you my photos!

I gave away my denim skirt last spring ( 2022) and now I have regret

Haha, oh I know the feeling Linda! Perhaps it’s the perfect chance to buy a new one, or preloved of course!
Oh no, I totally forgot about this. I’ve got at least 5 denim skirts and even took one on my recent holiday, so it would hae been easy …
What a shame that skirt became too tight, as it’s lovely.
Will make a notation about October’s brown theme! xxx

Love all the variety of denim skirt stylings on all of the participants! Glad you had a lovely relaxing holiday. Thanks for including me in this month’s Good Buy/Good Bye book. I look forward to next month’s theme and will join if I can rustle up a brown fall outfit-I don’t have much of that color in my wardrobe. Enjoy your weekend!

And thank you for joining us, our faithful friend!
I don’t have any denim skirts that fit right now…dang! But, I did finally find what I think I’ve been wanting so I ordered two of them in different sizes. I hope one of them works! Thanks, Nancy, for the link party!

Well I am dying to see it Marsha! My pleasure love!
It seems everyone loves their denim skirts. I am glad they are seeing a revival but then again, has denim ever been out of style? I just ordered and received a new denim skirt from Old Navy. I think I will like it better than my old one, which doesn’t seem to fit right anymore.
I like the way you added a belt to your skirt even though it doesn’t have belt loops. Super cute and a little bit sassy!!

Thank you very much Leslie! I hope you like to join us next month!
Love seeing everyone in their denim… makes me almost tempted to buy a denim skirt of my own. But I know I’d probably never wear it. I do, however, have some brown so I’ll be joining in next month for sure!

Oh that would be lovely Joanne!
I always forget to share mine! Love all of this denim inspiration! Love your denim skirt with the buttons!

Haha, we all have at least one right!
I have set an appointment in my calendar to check the theme and build an outfit. I hope you like two of my 3 concert outfits that I’ve linked up, Nancy! I’m wearing a white denim skirt in the first one (with the green boots), which is what I’d intended on wearing in time for the Good Buy/Good Bye this time around.
Some good denim skirts here!
