Oh how I love brown! Not as much as black and green, but brown is a beautiful warm colour. Of course it stands for Autumn (wink Ann) And for coffee, lol. I have always loved brown where others disliked that colour a lot. It’s often linked as a frumpy colour. Well frumpyness is what is in your head!
Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series after we had hosted The Bad Buy Book for a year. Now we are ready for a new challenge! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book about?
It is a collage of outfits! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We will keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc. But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!
So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Brown!

I bought these brown faux leather trousers a few years ago and while I really like them and they are exceptionally comfortable, I just don’t wear them. So I should probably say Good-Bye to them. But my goodness, I struggle with saying good-bye to my clothing!

This brown/black trousers and blazer combo was my look for my July 2021 Magnificent 8 Collaboration “Inspired By” post. Around that time, I’d come across an article in Grazia declaring that Blazers And Brown Trousers Is Fashion’s New It Formula so I set out to find a pair of such trousers at a local thrift store. I liked the look but the quality of the trousers was only so-so and they’ve since been donated back to another thrift store.

This dark brown baby wale corduroy skirt I have not worn for quite a while. It is still in my closet, and needs to be put in rotation! I consider it a good buy, even if I don’t wear it often, and only during the colder fall and winter months.

I couldn’t find much in brown but I also didn’t want to miss out. The shoes I have on with the fishnet tights are brown even though I tried black shoe polish on them to try and darken them. Not sure if I can find any other browns in this outfit but I think with so many shades of browns there must be some.
And here is my brown outfit
I am sending in some older photos as I have been sick for the past two weeks and couldn’t take any outfit photos. But this was a much loved outfit when I was still working. I actually wore it with a waistcoat for a long time, but that one became to tight. Still have the necklace and the belt. They are from the shop I used to work for. The hole outfit was a Good Buy, also because I always got a 50% discount as the manager.

Wow, great browns, one and all. Even the browns that became goodbyes were fabulous. I love Di’s corduroy skirt, and the brown leather pants Shelbee shared. Hope she won’t make them a goodbye. They are so stylish and such a pretty color. And Laura’s dress!!! So sad that she parted with it. I would gladly have taken it off her hands.

I think it’s interesting how brown comes and goes as a fashionable color. One year, I desperately wanted something in brown, but it was not the year for it. I have some brown but not a lot. One of these days, I will remember to participate.
