Because of the bad, wet and cold summer we are having here, I can at least wear my cargo winter skirt! Look, there’s always a bright side! Of course I already wore this skirt last winter, you can see that here. But now I wore it on a grey summer day, although you can see a tiny bit of blue there. Which we have seen more often than a blue sky, it really is a terribly disappointing summer! I sound like an English woman( only wish!), I’ll stop talking about it….
Winter cargo skirt in summer
I don’t wear this linen blouse very often. I think the colour is beautiful, but bright colours bore me very quickly. And I actually like this colour pink best on red, I will also wear it on this skirt. But I hadn’t worn it yet this season and I wanted to wear these pink sandals. But I actually think a white t-shirt with white sneakers goes better with the cargo skirt. I didn’t feel like wearing that, that day. And what’s more, pink and green match perfectly. The colours of nature.
I’m not into the cargo style. But every now and then I find something that I think is cool enough, such as this skirt but also these cargo trousers. We see this trend every season and I am not even sure if it is trendy at the moment, who cares anyway, (well, I do….a bit). And I think my American friends are more a fan of cargo clothing then we are here in Europe. Also is the case with kimono’s. We almost never see kimono’s here on the streets, and they are hardly available in shops. While I see a lot of American bloggers wearing them. So I am hoping a lot of you can appreciate this cargo skirt!
Wearing colour for a change
These sandals are so lovely, I mean 3 shades of pink, what’s not to like. Whenever I am drawn to colourful items, I find myself wearing it not often enough. Because, of course, I feel much more comfortable in dark colours. But I can see that colours are uplifting and I get much more compliments when I wear colour then when I wear black. But I dress for myself of course.
So I only wear colour when I really really want to, hahaha. I did buy a monochrome green and pink outfit this season though! I am wearing a lovely statement necklace with a dragonfly with the cargo skirt outfit. And a leather olive green bracelet. I love leather bracelets, especialy when they have studs. I’ve outgrown the spikes…..

Oooh, Nancy, I love this cute casual cargo skirt style on you. And that pink is a beautifully brilliant color as well. It is such a gorgeous contrast with the drabber olive color of your skirt. I laughed when you said you have outgrown spiky bracelets! There are so many styles that I feel like I have outgrown as well. Isn’t it funny how age can change our preferences so much?! I hope you have a most wonderful weekend!

Thanks love! Yes, however I still like spikes, but I don’t think that looks cool anymore.
I am so in love with this color combo! It’s nice to see you in pink and loving those cute sandals! So weird to hear that kimonos and cargos are not really around in Europe. Thanks so much for the link up!

Pink and olive green is one of my favorite color combos! Your cargo skirt is fabulous! Funny how cargos and kimonos aren’t a thing in Europe!

Oh Nancy, I wish I could send you a few degrees of our summer heat! Today we have mid 90s with excessive heat warning, and air quality warning-so it’s not a good idea to be outside. I love this cargo skirt outfit-a skirt with pockets has my heart, and so does the color pink! Your sandals with three shades of pink are just the best! Thanks for posting and the link up. I hope you have a nice weekend, and the weather warms up for you soon!

Love this colour combo, complements each other so well. Yes, the weather here is bonkers, we are experiencing a heatwave at the moment, but that could all change tomorrow. Enjoy your weekend and thank you for hosting.

Yes it is a strange sumer everywhere. Thanks Joanne!
The summer here in San Francisco has been cold and foggy too, but then it usually is (we get summer later in September and October). Looks like you’re making the most of it with that bright pink top though—love it with the cargo skirt!

Hi, Nancy – Great outfit! The skirt goes quite well with the pink top and sandals. They’re both casual things so they go with the cargo style. I especially love your dragonfly necklace. And your narrative is a wonderfully entertaining way to showcase your outfit choice. Thanks! – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

It’s great that you’re making the best of the dreary summer weather with your winter cargo skirt! The combination of the pink blouse with the skirt and sandals sounds fresh and vibrant. It’s interesting how styles like cargo and kimonos have different levels of popularity depending on where you are. Your approach to wearing color thoughtfully is inspiring. I hope the weather improves soon so you can enjoy more summer outfits!
