The fall and winter months generally tend to bring sleeker, more subdued styles. Deeper and darker colors suit the season. However, with the unprecedented events we’ve experienced this year, our priorities have slightly change. This is introducing new fashion trends as well. Following the general vibe of 2020, the upcoming seasons will focus mainly on comfort, warmth and practicality. It will, offer new and interesting style options suited for all everyday looks. To that end, here are some of the biggest season trends you simply must try out.

Season trends, the comeback of slips
This year, we’ve all realized that our fashion purchases need to be as comfortable and practical as they are versatile and sophisticated. That is exactly why slip dresses have slowly been gaining popularity. They are becoming one of the biggest trends for the upcoming season. Evidently, they’re now considered to be as essential as a white tee or a good pair of jeans. The reason for that might be their incredible versatility. Whether they’re layered with tall boots and a chunky knit for winter, or simply worn alone for a comfortable at-home look, slip dresses are undoubtedly the ‘it’ item this season.
Warm and comfy knits in season trends
The need for comfort extends to all aspects of fashion this year, highlighted by the rise of warm and cozy knits. Chunky sweaters are an absolute fall and winter staple each season. This year has seen an increase in wool and cashmere dresses, skirts and sweatpants as well, allowing for ultimate seasonal comfort. Mostly seen in soft, neutral shades of beige and gray, warm knits are ideal for any off-duty outfit. This applies whether it’s a casual everyday look, or even a comfy stay-at-home option.
Sleek and minimal wallets
The events of this year have also highlighted our general need for less, leading us to choose practicality over style now more than ever. For instance, an elegant and sleek card holder wallet has replaced its bulky counterpart this year, making it one of the biggest accessory trends of the season. Holding only the essentials you might actually need when going out. While also seamlessly fitting into any bag you might carry, cardholders seem to be the most practical and versatile accessory that’s only going to gain in popularity in the upcoming seasons.
Cozy handbag styles
The trend of coziness has extended to handbags as well, making fuzzy and furry bags one of the best ways to complete any fashionable outfit this season. Bringing both style and an additional dose of comfort, soft handbags seem to be that one item everyone needs to have in their closets. If furriness is not your forte, however, slouchy leather handbags are also a big trend this year. They are offering a more elegant and refined look. They are also adding some warmth and coziness to any fashionable outfit.
Elegant tailoring
A good suit should be a staple part of everyone’s wardrobe, particularly when it comes to more professional and formal styles. However, elegant tailoring has entered the world of street style this year as well, mostly in the form of stylish, menswear-inspired pieces. Trousers and blazers are oversized, vintage, or even mismatched. They are often worn in more casual looks, combined with sneakers and a plain T-shirt. Being both comfortable and incredibly cool, these tailored pieces perfectly represent the mood of 2020. They are ideal for incorporating into your everyday style, whether it’s workwear or casual daily outfits.
Classic brown jackets
One might argue that leather jackets never truly went out of style. However this season all shades of brown have taken over the classic black option. From more unique chore and wrap jackets to the timeless biker jackets and trench coats, all silhouettes seem to be popular this season. The only thing that matters is that your outerwear is in a warm and neutral shade of brown leather. You can easily get the top fashionista look this season with minimal effort.
Warmth is always an important aspect of fashion during the colder months. This year put an emphasis on coziness and comfort more than ever. It is almost turning loungewear into stylish everyday outfits. From attractive slip dresses to chunky knits and warm accessories, the biggest trends for the upcoming season will allow you to incorporate some coziness into your fashionable outfits.
Would really appreciate it if you would share my photos on Pinterest.
I can’t wait for the construction at our house to be over so I can hang my clothes back in my closet and wear them! I am determined to wear my slipdress this year!

Oh you lucky girl!
Jackets and comfy knits are what Winter is all about, but I am having problem with the concept of a slip dress worn in the colder months. Perhaps it’s my misconception of the word, as for me a slip is what I’m wearing underneath an unlined dress 🙂 xxx

Thanks Jacqui!
I am big on top, big breasted and feel like I can’t wear a slip dress or even a camisole comfortably and confidently. But I love both. Chunky sweaters I can do!! And love them. Have seen brown wool coats a lot this season. Would love to have one but would rarely have the need to wear it. Wish we had more difference in our seasons.
