Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!
This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!
Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this serie after we had hosted The Bad Buy Book for a year. Now we are ready for a new challenge! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join!
You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We will keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc. But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!
So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Summer Hats!
First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the EdgeI do love a pretty fascinator with a veil for dress up occasions! They make me feel like I am attending a royal event. I was gifted this pretty black lacy one from Zaful a few years back and I still wear it where it when I am feeling fancy and wanting a vintage vibe. Definitely a Good Buy…even though I didn’t really buy it!
The darling Hilda of Over the HildaThis straw hat is a good buy from Marc Cain. It fits me, it is soft and easy to wear and it is gorgeous. Cost was €99 but I bought it at €60. We have been having an incredible summer and I have needed my hats to protect my face from the sun.
The lovely Lieske of Petite TeacherThis huge black summer hat is a good buy, though I had my doubts before buying it. The plusses first. It’s a very versatile hat that goes well with many outfits and that’s something I value a lot. Versatility is not only good for my creativity and budget, but also good for the environment. Because the hat is so huge, it’s an excellent way to keep my face out of the sun in summer, which is a real bonus this year! The fact that the hat is so huge is actually also a minus and the main reason for hesitating before buying… I sometimes feel the hat is too big for my small frame. Anyway, having had the hat for 2 seasons now and happily wearing it regularly, I definitely consider it a good buy!
The darling Sonja of Yust So Me
This is totally me and of course people look when you wear a hat, because in my town it is a bit awkward…they are farmers and not used to see a fashionista walking down the street.
The lovely Liz of Closet Play ImageHer (funny) hat story is on Shelbee’s!
Our lovely Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of StyleThis photo is me with my straw hat that is a good buy!! I absolutely think it’s an essential for summer outdoor activities. I added the third photo of the same hat for me, to show how I glued on some pom poms around the brim!! It’s an easy DIY to a plain straw hat!!
The charming Kellyann of This Blonde’s Shopping BagHi ladies,
The lovely Cheryl of North West Mountain LivingI spend a lot of time outdoors here in the mountains so hats are functional as well as fun. I wear them often with my favorite being wide brim so they really shade my face.
The darling Betsy of Natty GalI was NEVER a hat person until (during a mini mid-life crisis) hubby purchased a convertible. With baby fine hair that does not do wind, my options became ponytail or hat. Now I really like them for the bit of extra flare they give an outfit.
And my ,,summer hat,,I havn’t got any summer hat, the one on Shelbee’s blog I bought for this theme! This is what I always wear when I am sitting in the garden, and in the pool!
Now hop over to Shelbee’s to see more Summer Hats!
That’s it for this month! Thank you all for participating. Shelbee and I love to host these series, but without you all, there is no serie!
The theme for next month is Kimono’s!
Send your photo with a few sentences if it is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlights! Send it please before the 10th of each month to firstname.lastname@example.org or to email@example.com
