STRIPED FLAMINGOS OUTFIT & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Striped flamingo outfit

A striped outfit. At first I wanted to tittle this post: flamingos behind bars. But that would give a totall wrong idea of what this post is about of course. And although I almost love animals more then people, and I get very upset over animals that hurt or are being abused, that is not what my blog is about. It is just a light, easy to read( at least I hope so) blog about what my style is and this post is just about another printed skirt. A printed skirt with flamingos. And I am in the mood for colors and spring and that’s why I wanted to style this skirt as if it was warm already.

*This is a sponsored post. Some items are given to me. Check out Rosegals Valentines gifts!

Stripes in a outfit

I have a few garments with stripes like you can see here, here and here . I think stripes are perfect for print mixing. But that is already been done with this skirt. So adding a striped blouse was a no brainer. I am wearing tights and although it looks very ,,springish,, it’s very cold and freezing here in the Netherlands. I added a bright pink belt to the outfit and my new pink tassel earrings. The beaded chains I wear as bracelets and are from the boulvard in Brighton. And let’s keep our fingers crossed that I can wear this outfit with bare legs soon! BTW, it was very windy the day we took the photos!striped outfitstriped outfitstriped outfitstriped outfitstriped outfitstriped outfitstriped outfitstriped outfit

NO STYLED BY……..??????

No Styled by…….story

There went something wrong tonight with publishing the right post. I am sorry, you can read today’s post now.

I can’t say how disappointed I am for not presenting you a new Styled by….story! For the first time in 15 months there is just no story. For the first time I could use my new logo and no story.

I always get a lot of positive comments on those beautiful stories, so I assume that you all love to read them. I hope I can generate a lot of stories with this post, but if I can’t then I have to stop it! So, I ask you, is it all clear what the intention is? Do you understand how to get in touch with me in case there are questions? Let me explane again, but you can also read all about it here and also read all the other stories.

What is the purpose of this series?

The purpose is that you write a story about your style. Preferably from your puberty. How did your style evolve? What does it say about you? Did you have a rol model? Attache some beautiful photos that reflect your personality and how you used to look. And that’s it! It’s not that hard is it? You can send it to: nancy@nancysfashionstyle.com.

I also show your story on FacebookInstagram and Twitter. If you are not following me, please do. I really hope that you now think to your self: yes, I have a story to tell! And that you want to make the effort to write a beautiful story!

Thank you all.

PLEATED DRESS, FRUMPY OR COOL OVER 50 FASHION & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

How to wear a pleated dress

It seems that I am into polka dots and bows lately. And pleated items, normally skirts. I had already forgotten that this dress was a pleated dress when I got it. I thought it was just a polka dot and bow dress. What a surprise, of course I had seen that when I choose it, but I forgot. Yeah, I am a 50 plus fashion blogger okay! So the question was: how to style this pleated dress. With a long cardigan, which I love especially this time of the year when we could do with some layering. Or would that be to frumpy? Mm, perhaps. I also like to wear it with a leather jacket, you know, contrasts is what I like in an outfit.

*This is a sponsored post. Some of the items are gifted to me.

Which way of styling do you like the best?

I like this dress a lot. It fits perfectly and I can wear it through out all seasons. Well, not in summer I think because dresses like this one are best worn with boots in my mind. When I would wear this one with sandals or a pump it would make the look very frumpy. ( I like that word, did you notice….)So which look do you like best? I like the one with the leather jacket the best, it’s a bit more edgy. Although I now think that the one with the cardigan also can be worn with ballerinas! Also check out the bracelet of the red boot outfit! So funny!polka dot dresspolka dot dresspolka dot dresspolka dot dresspolka dot dresspolka dot dresspolka dot dresspolka dot dress

CHECKERED PANTS & BURGUNDY BOMBER AND ANKLE BOOTS

My checkered pants, again with a bomber

And when I wrote the title of my checkered pants post, I remembered I had already shown you this one. And then I also remembered I had another Bad Buy Jacket! But the reason that I show these pants again is because of the ankle boots and the bomber jacket. It is very obvious to wear burgundy with grey, I doubted if I would wear it like this on the blog, but I do think it looks great so why not. That half of the world wears grey with burgundy doesn’t matter. I just wear what I like. And you might think: why again with a bomber as it was a Bad Buy? Yeah I know, I felt for the color. And it was only €6. Can you believe that! And it isn’t a thrift shop item, you know I don’t do thrift shopping.

*This is a sponsored post, but all the words are my own and I don’t show what I don’t want to wear myself!

Checkered pants are always trendy in fall season

Just like floral print is in spring and glitters in December. I love checkered clothing. I used to have a checkered trenchcoat but Gerben said it was a mevrouw de Bok coat! ( only Dutch readers understand this!) It wasn’t, I loved that coat. And I also had several checkered pencil skirts. At the moment I don’t, but I have seen some I really like already. So it won’t be long that you see me wearing a checkered skirt. When I choose these ankle boots, I had already purchased the bomber, I wanted to wear it with my tulle black skirt. But there is something about red/black or green/black I don’t like. It’s to Christmas like. Don’t you agree, or is that a funny thing of me? And I already had in mind that I wanted to wear the tulle skirt underneath another skirt(I will show you soon). So I choose the obvious look. That’s okay, I am not a creative fashion designer…..

So burgundy and grey it was. The ruffled blouse is from last year, I’ve always loved these blouses especially when they had dramatic sleeves. A bit Prince like. And check my earrings! For someone who loves everything symmetric, almost obssesive, it’s quite something to wear these asymmetric earrings. But I feel good wearring them! Haha. No, but they are just very very nice. What do you think of my burgundy and checkered outfit?

FITTED BLOUSE WITH SHOULDER PADS & JACQUARD WOVEN TROUSERS & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

A blouse with shoulder pads…how do you feel about that?

I was actually happily surprised when I was wearing this blouse. I did not notice the shoulder pads when I ordered this one. I mean, when I see a trend for the second time mostly it doesn’t make me happy. Click here for some collections with shoulder pads. But it is elegant, stylish and gives the blouse a little more swoomph! But I think that if you’re wider in the shoulders, you don’t want them in your closet. Just like I don’t want straight trousers because I have no buttocks and thin legs. I look like an idiot whenever I try those trousers.

What about green and beige?

Beige is normally a color that I should not wear on the upper half. But this blouse with shoulder pads comes only in this color, I had to make a sacrifice. I loved it to much! The blouse has brackets on the front, just like a corset. And what about the trousers. I said it before, I don’t like trousers that much but with this one I just felt for the color. I’m not quite happy with the design of the trousers because it is a bit wider. And it also has got a high waist with folds, so it looks like you have eaten everything on the menu at the sushi restaurant.(which I could!) But it’s the color… A beautiful shade of green with a woven leaf print. I look like a wood, a wood in fall! Haha, I even matched my earrings!blouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsBlouse: here

DRAPED CARDIGAN ON FLORAL PRINT DRESS

I love cardigans

I used to love a cardigan because I was always cold……now I have these hot flashes so I need to take something of when one hits me! I also think that a cardigan adds something more. Not only a layer, but color, especiallly with summer dresses like here and here.

*This is a sponsored post but I don’t show items I don’t like and the words are always my own.

Gerben asked me, about a month ago, what I wanted for my birthday.( it was my birthday on August 31th)I said that I wanted a shopping day with him. I hadn’t been shopping for a while. It’s all online shopping. In the past, with girlfriends, we spent a whole day shopping a couple times a year. And I mean a whole day, from opening till closing time! Well, we did have lunch in between. But now with a wheelchair it’s less fun….so to speak… So two weeks ago, Gerben and I went for a day of shopping in Den Bosch. And it was fantastic! To not get tired while shopping is so very nice! We had a nice lunch and had a drink in a cosy place in the afternoon and we went out for diner in the evening too! I bought fabulous things, which you all get to see. I loved this dress straight away, but it wasn’t in my size. This is actually two sizes bigger then I normally have, but it looked pretty small to me. So I tried it on and guess what! It was perfect!

And a sequin bag

What about my sequin cross body bag? Isn’t is just lovely? I never have anything with sequins, but this one was to cute. And I love the bold goldcolored chain. I normally don’t use fashion bags anymore because I always have to carry my oxygen bag, but when I use the wheelchair, I can put the concentrator in the wheelchair bag and then I can wear a small bag on my lap. For my phone, a lipstick……and my creditdard! Lol. And fortunately it is still warm enough to wear peeptoes over here. But I think that will soon be over. Then it is time for tights again.
