HERRINGBONE TROUSERS WITH BLUE BOOTS AND BLUE CARDIGAN & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Have you ever heard of a herringbone pattern ?

While writing down the title, I suddenly realize that a long long time ago, when I was 16, I bought a second hand coat. I told you before that thrift shopping is not for me. I gave it a chance, or two, last summer in the UK, but no it’s not for me. But back then it was apparently. That coat was a herringbone wool blend coat. A fabulous coat, I remember I felt so fashionable in that coat. When Gerben and I went shopping, when I also bought this dress, he came up with these trousers and said: these I like! Oh, a herringbone one! I liked it too!

Herringbone with blue

Herringbone patterns are often found on tweed clothing. And I always have loved tweed. Especially of course the classic Chanel tweed. But back in the eighties this pattern was very popular. And this is the season that the eighties are hot again. Think shoulder pads, pointed boots, big hair(yeah) and the herringbone pattern. What I also bought on that shopping day were these boots and this cardigan. I didn’t buy them to match the trousers, but I thought: well, I don’t have a light blue cardigan yet. And later in another store: well, I don’t have blue ankle boots. I know, it was a ,,just buy what I want,, kind a day! ( and I enjoyed it).

I think these blue shades work very well with the trousers. It would be obvious to wear black or perhaps some red with it. I think the blue gives a bit of winter crisp feel to it, you know, ice, snow, all the things I hate. Haha. But any color is good. I am wearing fishnet socks with a bow at the back. Aren’t they lovely?herringbone trousersherringbone trousersherringbone trousersherringbone trousersherringbone trousersherringbone trousersherringbone trousersherringbone trousers

FASHION WEEKS HOTTEST TRENDS & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Hottest Trends from International Fashion Weeks

Claire Hastings is my guest writer today. She wrote some great posts for my blog before here, here and here. Today she tell’s about the fashion weeks hottest trends!

Bright colours, high-impact make-up, and 90s flashback are just some of the fabulous trends the latest fashion weeks featured. From involving plus size models into their fashion shows, through bringing back the legendary models of the 90s, designers have certainly given their best to offer the audience in the front rows a majestic show, while also presenting revolutionary trends we’ll love in the season to come.

Headpieces were a huge hit on the runways. From pearl-encrusted bands to bejewelled crowns, the hair ornaments were nothing if not decadent. Versace had their gold barrettes embellished with the house’s iconic medallions and it made an amazing accessory to the rest of the ensemble. So, if you’ve had a cute stylish brooch, think about pinning it to a pretty little barrette instead of attaching it to your garments, and create a unique look worthy of a runaway.

Feathersfashion weeks hottest trends

From Moschino to Saint Laurent, the runways were filled with models walking in feathery creations of various hues. From white, through neon blue, gold and to black, flirty looks were created everywhere. Whether you’re thinking about skirts, coats, boots or dresses, feathers will be a compulsory detail on every one of those clothing items.

Braidsfashion weeks hottest trends

The one beauty trend that can make anyone look fabulous and the one that is so versatile that everyone can find their favourite kind to rock fiercely are braids. Whether you decide to go with boxer braids, a loose braid on the side, or the five-strand low braid as seen on Milan Fashion Week, you’ll look nothing if not fabulous. Even if you don’t have long hair to pull off a braid, there’s the quickest and the best solution ever called hair extensions. The ladies of the Land Down Under find them particularly attractive, so you can easily order some of the best quality hair extensions online from Australia. Pick out the appropriate length, and make a perfect braid just like the one from the spring fashion shows.

An off-balanced silhouette dancing along the shoulder, and wrapping around the neck, then twisting around the collarbone is the next big thing. You guessed it; we’re talking about the asymmetrical neckline. It’s both classy and sassy, revealing just enough skin while leaving plenty to the imagination. If you decide to wear a dress with an asymmetrical neckline, consider pulling your hair up, to reveal as much neck as you can, since the majority of the chest area will be covered.

Dark cat eye doesn’t have centre stage anymore, because high-impact eyeliner is the next big make-up trend. A glossy and glittery rounded cat eye, and thin white stripes underneath the lower lash line were some of the ground-breaking make-up looks on the latest runaways. Let’s not forget the thin arches of black liner between lashes and eyebrows that completely outshined the well-known feline flick and the classic smoky eye.

With the first spring blossoming, the white suiting will come. The designs were so versatile that we could see white suits in all variations, from an oversized tux matched with fitted pants, through wide leg high waisted pants combined with a white bra and an unbuttoned blazer, to a Saturday Night Fever-like ensemble introduced by Acne Studios.

The ‘90s are back and they’re representing sporty shades. Remember those sharp edges, the amalgamation of bright hues, and that cool sporty design? Well, if you’ve been missing it for all these years, it’s finally back and you’ll be able to rock it with the rest of your spring outfit.

Final thoughts

Every fashion week season brings along some of the most ground-breaking trends, and the latest one was no different. From feathers, through braids, high-impact eyeliner and to white suits, asymmetrical necklines and sunglasses from the ‘90s, the spring of 2018 will be nothing if not colourful and fashion forward.

Thank you very much Claire! Love the brooche on a barette trend!

WEDNESDAY WISHLIST WITH ZAFUL

Welcome to the Wednesday Wishlist with Zaful

Zaful has great new items that I wanted to show you on my Wednesday Wishlist. First I am totally, what lot’s of bloggers call, obsessed(haha) with faux leather leggings. I have a black one and I want a wine one too. I always forget that they are so incredible comfortable and stylish. If you havn’t got one yet, try it! Here are a few faux leather items that caught my eye.

1. Faux leather skirt

2. Faux leather jacket

3. Faux leather skinny pants

I know we have seen jackets like that last season, but they are pretty nice! On a pleated skirt for example.

1. Hounstooth pleated skirt

2. Floral embroided pants

3. Checked and lace pants

Isn’t that plaid and lace pants interesting! And that houndstooth skirt would look great on that faux leather jacket!

Let’s also shop for some sweaters!

1. Flare sleeve sweater

2.Knit sweater

3.Chunky sweater

Doesn’t the middle sweater remind you of your first self made knitwear? It does to me! I like it a lot. Would be great on that faux leather skirt!

I hope you enjoyed the wishlist and check Zaful’s global shopping festival!

CHECKERED PANTS & BURGUNDY BOMBER AND ANKLE BOOTS

My checkered pants, again with a bomber

And when I wrote the title of my checkered pants post, I remembered I had already shown you this one. And then I also remembered I had another Bad Buy Jacket! But the reason that I show these pants again is because of the ankle boots and the bomber jacket. It is very obvious to wear burgundy with grey, I doubted if I would wear it like this on the blog, but I do think it looks great so why not. That half of the world wears grey with burgundy doesn’t matter. I just wear what I like. And you might think: why again with a bomber as it was a Bad Buy? Yeah I know, I felt for the color. And it was only €6. Can you believe that! And it isn’t a thrift shop item, you know I don’t do thrift shopping.

*This is a sponsored post, but all the words are my own and I don’t show what I don’t want to wear myself!

Checkered pants are always trendy in fall season

Just like floral print is in spring and glitters in December. I love checkered clothing. I used to have a checkered trenchcoat but Gerben said it was a mevrouw de Bok coat! ( only Dutch readers understand this!) It wasn’t, I loved that coat. And I also had several checkered pencil skirts. At the moment I don’t, but I have seen some I really like already. So it won’t be long that you see me wearing a checkered skirt. When I choose these ankle boots, I had already purchased the bomber, I wanted to wear it with my tulle black skirt. But there is something about red/black or green/black I don’t like. It’s to Christmas like. Don’t you agree, or is that a funny thing of me? And I already had in mind that I wanted to wear the tulle skirt underneath another skirt(I will show you soon). So I choose the obvious look. That’s okay, I am not a creative fashion designer…..

So burgundy and grey it was. The ruffled blouse is from last year, I’ve always loved these blouses especially when they had dramatic sleeves. A bit Prince like. And check my earrings! For someone who loves everything symmetric, almost obssesive, it’s quite something to wear these asymmetric earrings. But I feel good wearring them! Haha. No, but they are just very very nice. What do you think of my burgundy and checkered outfit?

FITTED BLOUSE WITH SHOULDER PADS & JACQUARD WOVEN TROUSERS & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

A blouse with shoulder pads…how do you feel about that?

I was actually happily surprised when I was wearing this blouse. I did not notice the shoulder pads when I ordered this one. I mean, when I see a trend for the second time mostly it doesn’t make me happy. Click here for some collections with shoulder pads. But it is elegant, stylish and gives the blouse a little more swoomph! But I think that if you’re wider in the shoulders, you don’t want them in your closet. Just like I don’t want straight trousers because I have no buttocks and thin legs. I look like an idiot whenever I try those trousers.

What about green and beige?

Beige is normally a color that I should not wear on the upper half. But this blouse with shoulder pads comes only in this color, I had to make a sacrifice. I loved it to much! The blouse has brackets on the front, just like a corset. And what about the trousers. I said it before, I don’t like trousers that much but with this one I just felt for the color. I’m not quite happy with the design of the trousers because it is a bit wider. And it also has got a high waist with folds, so it looks like you have eaten everything on the menu at the sushi restaurant.(which I could!) But it’s the color… A beautiful shade of green with a woven leaf print. I look like a wood, a wood in fall! Haha, I even matched my earrings!blouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsBlouse: here
