My checkered pants, again with a bomber

And when I wrote the title of my checkered pants post, I remembered I had already shown you this one. And then I also remembered I had another Bad Buy Jacket! But the reason that I show these pants again is because of the ankle boots and the bomber jacket. It is very obvious to wear burgundy with grey, I doubted if I would wear it like this on the blog, but I do think it looks great so why not. That half of the world wears grey with burgundy doesn’t matter. I just wear what I like. And you might think: why again with a bomber as it was a Bad Buy? Yeah I know, I felt for the color. And it was only €6. Can you believe that! And it isn’t a thrift shop item, you know I don’t do thrift shopping.

*This is a sponsored post, but all the words are my own and I don’t show what I don’t want to wear myself!

Checkered pants are always trendy in fall season

Just like floral print is in spring and glitters in December. I love checkered clothing. I used to have a checkered trenchcoat but Gerben said it was a mevrouw de Bok coat! ( only Dutch readers understand this!) It wasn’t, I loved that coat. And I also had several checkered pencil skirts. At the moment I don’t, but I have seen some I really like already. So it won’t be long that you see me wearing a checkered skirt. When I choose these ankle boots, I had already purchased the bomber, I wanted to wear it with my tulle black skirt. But there is something about red/black or green/black I don’t like. It’s to Christmas like. Don’t you agree, or is that a funny thing of me? And I already had in mind that I wanted to wear the tulle skirt underneath another skirt(I will show you soon). So I choose the obvious look. That’s okay, I am not a creative fashion designer…..

So burgundy and grey it was. The ruffled blouse is from last year, I’ve always loved these blouses especially when they had dramatic sleeves. A bit Prince like. And check my earrings! For someone who loves everything symmetric, almost obssesive, it’s quite something to wear these asymmetric earrings. But I feel good wearring them! Haha. No, but they are just very very nice. What do you think of my burgundy and checkered outfit?

I didn’t have a velvet pleated skirt yet!

This is my fourth pleated skirt! But my first velvet one. As you probably have noticed, velvet is everywhere. I never loved it. I never even liked it. I always saw it as a dusty, old fashioned fabric. But when I was asked to choose something from Dresslily, I knew I wanted a new pleated skirt. And I wanted a metallic pleated skirt since last winter. So when I choose this one I didn’t even read were the skirt was made of and I thought it would be a polyester kind of material, and a bit metallic. When the parcel arrived I then saw that it was a velvet skirt. And even more to my surprise I thought it looked pretty cool!

*This is a sponsored post but I only show items that are ,,me,, and the words are always my own. You would not expect less from me.

Are we all used to the colder weather yet? Wearing socks, thights and leggings again? Sweaters and cardigans out of the closet? I hate the colder weather. I walk with bare legs as long as possible, with socks and boots that is. My bare foot days are over now. I so often think: brrrr, I wished I had put on some thights, but I hate those too! I always pull them as high as possible, which results in a ridiculous big belly. Gerben always says: just wear some stay-ups. Yeah, men! As if they are comfortable. But that’s probably not the intention either….

My outfit of the day

I also choose this cable sweater. I know now, with help from The Bad Buy Book series, that I should not wear off-white near my face. But white is good! And I love white and grey together. I am also looking for more v-neck sweaters. I find that much better than a round neck. And it allows this sweater to wear a blouse underneath. Sometimes I like that too. For today’s outfit I am wearing grey ankle boots with the skirt and for accesories I choose very pale pink earrings and a pearl brooche with a pearl bracelet. I know I will be wearing this velvet pleated skirt a lot this season!velvet pleated skirtvelvet pleated skirtvelvet pleated skirtvelvet pleated skirtvelvet pleated skirtvelvet pleated skirtvelvet pleated skirtvelvet pleated skirt

I love cardigans

I used to love a cardigan because I was always cold……now I have these hot flashes so I need to take something of when one hits me! I also think that a cardigan adds something more. Not only a layer, but color, especiallly with summer dresses like here and here.

Gerben asked me, about a month ago, what I wanted for my birthday.( it was my birthday on August 31th)I said that I wanted a shopping day with him. I hadn’t been shopping for a while. It’s all online shopping. In the past, with girlfriends, we spent a whole day shopping a couple times a year. And I mean a whole day, from opening till closing time! Well, we did have lunch in between. But now with a wheelchair it’s less fun….so to speak… So two weeks ago, Gerben and I went for a day of shopping in Den Bosch. And it was fantastic! To not get tired while shopping is so very nice! We had a nice lunch and had a drink in a cosy place in the afternoon and we went out for diner in the evening too! I bought fabulous things, which you all get to see. I loved this dress straight away, but it wasn’t in my size. This is actually two sizes bigger then I normally have, but it looked pretty small to me. So I tried it on and guess what! It was perfect!

And a sequin bag

What about my sequin cross body bag? Isn’t is just lovely? I never have anything with sequins, but this one was to cute. And I love the bold goldcolored chain. I normally don’t use fashion bags anymore because I always have to carry my oxygen bag, but when I use the wheelchair, I can put the concentrator in the wheelchair bag and then I can wear a small bag on my lap. For my phone, a lipstick……and my creditdard! Lol. And fortunately it is still warm enough to wear peeptoes over here. But I think that will soon be over. Then it is time for tights again.

Always feeling happy in a floral wrap dress

We are back a week from a short vacation to England. I will not bore you with the pictures because they are always the same. We love England and especially Sussex, and we went there for the I don’t know how many time! We had fantastic weather and spend a lot of time at the beach. And we always go to Brighton. Really a great city! So now our 25-year anniversary party is been( I write a post about that) and the holiday is over, it’s back to real life again. Fortunately, we still have great weather here in the Netherlands, so we can eat outside every night and stay outside till bedtime. I think that is so relaxing. When we got home there were a lot of packages that need to be unpacked, tried on and be photographed. Enough to do! I still remeber writing a post a while ago about how fun it seemed to be working with bloggers and companies. I also know I was complaining a little. Because it seemed like everyone had fun collaborations except for me! Now I really have to plan wich package and company comes first etc. How crazy is that! And….more important! I now have such a nice collaboration with Shelbee! Our Bad Buy Book series! I love it dear Shelbee. But one of the packages that was ready for me was this amazing floral wrap dress.

Floral wrap dress

I am already fond of dresses but especially wrap dresses. And after all the happy floral and pink and red outfits of the last weeks, I also like to wear a black dress again. But all black seemed to sober for a dress in this season. I wear very little orange but this dress has it combined with brown and I think that is very nice. Color, but still understated. The fun part of the dress is the high low hem line. I love that. I didn’t see it when I ordered the dress. An extra bonus! Btw, I later remembered I wore this shirtdress last year in orange and pink. Forgot all about it. And wearing the same shoes. I wore it right away yesterday!fashionable floral wrap dressfashion over 50 floral wrap dressdresses in floral wrap dressoutfit floral wrap dressfloral wrap dressfashion over 40 floral wrap dressbrown shoes and floral wrap dressfashion floral wrap dress

Where do you get your inspiration?

First I want to ask you, if you want to be kept informered of the latest post and you did not get an notification last Tuesday, to subscribe again in the sidebar with your email. I cancelled my old site and thus the Jetpack plugin that registered the email subscribers. The reminder email for the linkup is something different. I would appreciate it!

Since Victoria Beckham has left the Spice Girls, she is to me one of the greatest style icons. But not only that! I think she’s an inspiration because she did not walk an easy path, also not in her marriage, but she has become, in my view, a great designer. I really love her style. Take a look here at her new collection for Target. This outfit is also inspired on her looks. She has got gorgeous photo’s on her Instagram account.

Wearing it like Beckham…

I wanted to purchase a pink pleated skirt for this season. You guys know that I already have two. And on Pinterest I have a Victoria Beckham board and when I was searching for new pictures I came across this one and I was inspired to wear a pink skirt like that. Yes hello, I know I don’t look as good as she does, am not as talented as she is etc., but I liked the look! So who is your style icon and do you sometimes wear the same look as your style icon?

Speaking of style, I really need your Style stories if I want to continue with the Styled by…. series. So please read this page to see if it is something you like to write about. Shoe Trends: Upcoming Spring Essentials

Today I have Claire again as guest writer!

Remember that “Sex and the City” episode when Carrie was mugged? That was the episode where the probably the most iconic sentence was shouted: “Please sir, you can take my Fendi baguette, you can take my ring and watch, but you can’t take my Manolo Blahniks!” There is something about shoes that make us women feel super powerful, especially if our feet are “dressed” in the trendiest pair. To help you and your feet feel happy, here is a list of shoe trends for spring 2017.

Sock boots

Balenciaga went crazy with these on latest fashion shows. We have seen Rihanna rock their leather-velvet navy blues, and we admired those lime green ones as well as those square antelope leather ones. Besides Balenciaga, brands like Valentino and Celine also embraced this vibe. Not only do these cool boots look incredibly futuristic, they are also made of top-quality materials, since they have to be skintight. Not to mention that they are also comfortable as hell! You can find them in a wide range of styles and, while wearing them, you will feel like you have 2 layers of skin on your legs – which believe it or not, feels great!shoe trends

Wear them with:

You can copy Rihanna’s style and rock them with a striped button-down shirt and a mini denim skirt. They also go great with baggy jeans and oversized tops or crop tops – basically, they go with almost anything.

The trend that we thought will never see the sunlight again managed to come back once more. Platform sneakers or flatforms are among us, probably to remind us of the fashion of the ‘80s. People either hate them or adore them. Brands like Balmain, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci etc. really embraced these, and you can now find them in literally any color and pattern. Silver or black ones with white stars are probably the most popular choice.SHOE TRENDS

Wear them with:

If you decide to buy these, go all the way and combine them with eighties-like garments such as leggings and one-shoulder T-shirts. You go girl!

Glittery slip-on shoes

It is simple – many of us just don’t enjoy heels. That’s why slip-on shoes or ballet pumps will always be here for us. They are a great option when you want to be trendy, but want to avoid heels. Not to mention that they also got a glittery update now, so you will definitely stand out.shoe trends

Wear them with:

Since they are so girly-like, they will go great with those cute day dresses every woman must have. Also, you are free to wear them with your blouse, jacket and skinny jeans if you love that cute, college-girl vibe.

Kitten heels

Kitten heels were never this popular and cool. Kitten heels are basically shoes with super short and slender heels (from 1.5 inches to 1.75 inches), which became popular thanks to Audrey Hepburn. Even though many girls think of them as “granny heels”, check out what famous designers had done to them, like Celine – with their straps and ties, Dior – with their logoed version, and Miu Miu with their transparent flower details.shoe trends

Wear them with:

Since they are super elegant, they go great with business attire, but since it is the year 2017, who can forbid you to rock them with your boyfriend jeans and a bold tank top?

Athletic inspired boots

From all of those athleisure combinations, this is something that just had to happen, even though we didn’t expect it. Dior and Versace decided to launch boxer-like boots that, surprisingly, look incredibly cool and versatile. Versace and Maison Martin Margiela also followed this vibe, and as far as we can see, they are going to stay among us for a while.shoe trends

Wear them with:

Again, since it is the year 2017, your options are limitless, but try sticking to minimalistic and monochrome outfits since these boots are already over the top.

That would be it. What do you think about these trends? Let us know in the comments.
