Styled by…..tells the story behind someones style. What does a person tell by the way she or he is dressed? What does it say about their personality? When did they began to create their own style? The series is published every first Tuesday of the month.
Do you also have a story to tell, and do you also have beautiful pictures of your style evolution? I, and many of my readers, want to read your story! I would love it if you can join the fun too! You can find all the info in the Styled by…..page or contact me via email:firstname.lastname@example.org
This month Mikara tells about her style!
During my youth years, I didn’t have much style since I was very active in sports and barely had time to dress up. A lot of my wardrobe consist of loose t-shirts, tank tops, leggings, sneakers and my hair braided to protect it from getting frizzy.
I came into my own style about 5 years ago, I’ve been hearing about it before that but I wasn’t paying anyone any mind since I was still finding myself. The thing that made me realize my style was the way I accessorize and how that was always the conversation starter for me. Since something I felt very strongly about was getting a lot of attention I started to then pay attention to the other comments everyone was saying about my style. And from there, I then made fashion/style more apart of my life.
I got my style from different places I traveled to and lived in. I’ve been blessed to travel to many places, domestically and internationally, so I’ve been picking up a lot of elements from everywhere I’ve been to. Where I go, I seem to not fit in, even when I go back to my hometown in NJ/NYC – I still seem like the odd ball out.
I really love my style (confidently and firmly) because I keep everyone (even myself) on my toes. I never know what to expect when I put my wardrobe together since I get influenced by a lot of different small things and you never really know what to expect, I like it that way to maintain my mystique trait.
When looking for something to wear, I try to reflect my mood. I would describe my style as vibrantly moody with a strong personality — like my persona (LOL). One element I can say that does not seem to be moody are my earrings and accessories. With no hair to worry about, I like to put an extensive amount of effort into my bold accessories, particularly earrings, since they are my favorite accessory.
What a beautiful colorful lady! Thank you very much, Mikara, for sharing your style story. If you want to know more about Mikara check her blog and social media.
