Sentence a day: September

Sentence a day: September. Documenting our months with a sentence a day! Because we forget way to soon what we did all month!

Let’s start!

09/01 Gerben and I worked around the house and in the evening we spend a quiet night at home.

09/02 I wanted to shop a bit, you know…spending my birthday money!, then we drank some wine and beer at a terrace and when we wanted to go home, we passed by a new restaurant, and decided to eat there!

09/03 Worked out, blogged and then had a appointment with someone who is going to help us in the household by taking over some of Gerben’s chores, she starts this week which is fantastic as it gives Gerben a bit more time for himself.

09/04 Worked out, blogging and relaxing in the garden.

09/05 I met two girlfriends for lunch, it was so hot in the sun but I love that and I had my nails done, finally acrylic nails again!

09/06 Worked out and had a busy day plan everything for the blog, in the evening we went out for dinner with friends who also are going on vacation this weekend.

09/07 Cleaning and packing, always a busy day, and we went to the pedicure.

09/08 Yes, finally we are on our holiday trip, we got a ferry an hour earlier and arrived in Hastings in the afternoon.

09/09 To Brighton to meet Penny and Anne, it was such a lovely afternoon, like we knew each other for years, read about the afternoon tea here.

09/10 We went to Seven Sisters and Birling Gap, such an amazing place.

09/11 We did some shopping in Lewes, a lovely town with fabulous second hand stores. We strolled for a few hours in a antique shop in an old church. That’s where I saw this fabulous Diane von Furstenberg dress.

09/12 We went to St. Michaels Priory, a fabulous garden, a lovely priory and amazing cakes!(couldn’t resist a jacket potatoe)

09/13 To Brighton! Again! We love that city, did some shopping , went to the pier and sat on the beach for a few hours enjoying city life at his best!

09/14 The last day again, we went to Hastings for a walk on the pier, ate some very fresh crab and shopped a bit in the Old Town.

09/15 The day we are driving back home, a bit sad, we drove to Rye to enjoy the beach for a hour and then drove back home and we stopped in Dymchurch for the last fish&chips and the owner turned out to be Dutch! And she lived for 18 years real close to us and her niece has a hairdresser shop behind our house, so when she is going to visit her niece in December , she comes to our house as well! Funny right!

09/16 The day after we are back home is always a cleaning day, and I mean a whole day of cleaning!

09/17 Last day of our vacation, we cycled for three hours and went out for dinner, sushi!

09/18 Worked out, lots of mailing to do, phone calls to make etc.etc.

09/19 Our cleaning lady came, I am so very happy with her, and my girlfriend treated me on a high tea as we call it over here, I now know it’s a afternoon tea!

09/20 Worked out, had my physical therapist looking at my knee, I have been suffering with it for a few weeks, and in the afternoon I go to the beautician.

09/21 Cleaning and ironing, all the vacation wash!

09/22 We went to the commemoration of Market Garden, 800 parachutists were dropped on the Ginkelse hei, I sat next to a woman who had experienced all that, very impressive.

09/23 After a long and relaxed breakfast we went to visit my dad, and later we ate cheese fondue with friends who also just got back from a holiday.

09/24 I had to go to a foot therapist because I was suffering from my knee, now I get insoles, I do not get better with the years!

09/25 After exercising I had to go to the doctor to have my ears sprayed.

09/26 Cleaning, blogging and enjoying the nice weather in my garden.

09/27 Worked out, blogged and this is the last day with very mild temperatures, so I am hoping I can read for a while, also have some cleaning to do.

09/28 Went to the nail salon and cleaned the house and again ironing, pfff

09/29 Worked out, sat in the garden for a while, in the sun it was nice and warm, later we enjoyed tapas at home and a quite evening.

09/30 My mother in law celebrates her birthday today with the family, she is 80 now, it was very cozy and nice and we had some good laughs!

Wouldn’t you wear that DVF dress beautifully!!?? Love it.
Appreciate your impulsivity when you passed by the new restaurant and decided to stop in to eat. Sometimes those dates are better than ones we plan for!
Hope the new insoles help with the discomfort in your knee. I wore heels yesterday for the first time in a long time. Wish I could find some magical insole to make heels more comfortable for my 60 year-old feet and legs.

The soles are for my sagged feet. I got them today, aren’t that bad at all. I bought two other DVF dresses! Pre loved of course!
