PAPERBAGWAIST PANTS….BUT HOW TO WEAR IT?

PAPERBAGWAIST PANTS….BUT HOW TO WEAR IT?

Black paperbagwaist pants

For you who read my blog a bit longer, know that I am not a huge trouser fan. I have a few that I really like, but it is rarely that I find a good one. And I don’t want to because I’d rather wear skirts and dresses. But the paperbag pants kept on calling my name so when I ordered two miniskirts, I also ordered these pants to try. When I received them and tried them on, at first I thought: no, this one is going back. But then I showed the skirts to Gerben and the pants and said, the pants aren’t staying. Gerben said: why not, I think they look very good. Afther long checking in the mirror and lots of, do you really think they look good’s, I decided to keep the paperbagwaist pants. With still a bit of hesitation. And then the day came that I wanted to wear them! Pffff, what a misery.

How do I wear these trousers??

Normally when I order or get something, I know immediatly how I want to style it. It rarely occours that I think, no this doesn’t work. (for me that is, perhaps you think otherwise!) I thought it would be great to wear it elegantly. With pumps and a short jacket and a lace top.paperbagwaist pantspaperbagwaist pantspaperbagwaist pants Yes, I think it’s elegant, but it is so not me. I don’t feel comfortable in this look at all. I feel like a totall different person. Okay, then I changed into a more casual top and my new flat shoes.paperbagwaist pantspaperbagwaist pantspaperbagwaist pants That didn’t do the trick for me either. I do like the Ombre sweater. I think it’s a bit better then the first look, but there is something about the belly area. I feel I have a huge belly and huge hips. But it was time to go and I felt cold. It started to rain during the first look and by that last photo I was already getting pretty wet. The second look I stood at the frontdoor, dry……not Gerben….hahaha, and then we say that life of a blogger is hard! But okay, I put on a warmer sweater and there was no more time anymore. But I put on that sweater and said: Yes! this is the look I want with these trousers. Damn, so I had the pictures taken on another day for the last look.paperbagwaist pantspaperbagwaist pantspaperbagwaist pantspaperbagwaist pants

So now I bought a paperbagwaist pants, and I hide the paperbagwaist! Great job Nancy! Don’t listen to Gerben! He also had the nerve to tell me(afther the two first shoots)to buy a new bra! What the…. Men! But yeah, I had the straps a bit to loose, not a pretty sight….

Well Nancy, I am with Gerben. I like the pants on you, especially the first two looks. I think the paperbagwaist looks good with a slimmer top and YOU can wear it because YOU are so slender. There is nothing huge about your figure! I like the ombre top but I think the knot in it competes with the waist of the pants. The silhouette is stunning on you and you look terrific! I can’t wait to see how you style them next, when the weather gets warmer they’d be great with a tank!

Really? Funny how we see ourselves so different then others. Thank you, I will try it with a plain basic shirt!

Ha ha, when I got to the third outfit I was like SHE’S HIDING THE PAPERBAG WAIST! and then you said the very same thing 🙂 So really they’re just wide-legged trousers now. Hope you didn’t pay extra for the paperbag part! I actually thought the first outfit looked very nice, too, but I understand when something just doesn’t feel right to you.

    And…men! Sheesh.

The flat shoes and casual top look good with the trousers. It’s a trend I’ve avoided because that type of pant doesn’t work on me.

    • November 28, 2017 / 1:07 pm

I think it doesn t work for me either!

Those pants wouldn’t be for me either, with my wide hips, so I guess I’d also hide the paperbag waist thing. I must add that I love your first look though! xxx

I really like all three looks, I think you did a great job styling them. It’s good to experiment and try things we wouldn’t usually wear. I have some paperbag waist trousers which are quite baggy around the bum, maybe not the most flattering style on me but they are comfortable! Thanks for linking up Nancy!
