Celebrating our 25th anniversary
Gerben and I celebrated our 25th anniversary on June 10th with family and friends. We are not married by the way. Late last year we started to make plans for a party. We did not want it too big, just family and friends and we wanted a nice location and to celebrate it outside. In February we sent the invitations so then all you can do about the weather is to wait and to hope for a sunny day. And we had the most perfect sunny day! We really wanted to spoil our guests and I think we’ve done that well. And we were also very spoiled. From my in-laws, we got very beautiful corsages. We got many restaurant vouchers(are we known for loving food?). And everyone wrote something on paper harts that were hanged in a small ,,tree,,( that original was brown, but my father in law had painted it three times because we have everything white!) Today I want to share this day with you.
How and where did we celebrate our 25th anniversary?
The location we had chosen was the Halsaf estate in Babberich. An old estate, formerly a castle, in a forest with a beautiful history. The manager new very quickly how we wanted the party and came up with great ideas.
So the guests arrived at 4pm and where welcomed with a prosecco. After a few drinks we went to another part of the estate where a funny presentation was held about the name of the estate. The translation of the name ,,Halsaf” is ,,neck off”. So you can imagine the different stories about how the castle came to it’s name. Then it was time for a amuse and more drinks and chatting. After that it was time to eat. We had a buffet and delicious ice cream afterwards.
Gerben’s family had written a song for us and they all performed that for us! Hilarious to see! We loved it!We als had hired Lucky Photobooth. That’s a really nice addition to your party. Everyone can make photos with funny attributes. You will then get two strips with each three photos at a time and the people of the photobooth make sure the guests paste one strip into your guestbook and write something in it. It’s awesome!
After dinner there was coffee with liqueur and crafty baked cookies. All the guests also got a bag of cookies with them home. The party lasted until 9pm and after everyone left, Gerben and I drank another drink together outside and enjoyed. We also booked a room at the estate and after having another drink in our room, we fel asleep real quick! The next day we had a nice breakfast waiting outside.
Thank you all for being part of it!
