New Year’s Eve Looks with The Thrifty Six

collage of New Year's Eve looks

Christmas is almost here and a lot of us already know what we will be wearing then. But what about New Year’s Eve looks? I have no idea yet but I want something shiny and happy, that’s for sure.

Welcome to The Thrifty Six. We are a group of international fashion influencers who meet once a month in our little space on the internet to share our thrifty outfits. On the third Monday of every month, we will all share an outfit based on a theme that features pre loved wardrobe pieces. Shopping and reselling pre loved clothing is so much better for the environment and you can find some of the best fashions in thrift or charity shops. The Thrifty Six are here to inspire you to shop second hand.

New Year’s Eve looks inspiration.

glittery gold outfit

I’m so happy with this gorgeous top! It’s my first real vintage item. My eye caught it in a cute little vintage shop packed full with clothes, shoes and bags. It’s so luxureous. Lurex. Love lurex. I think I will wear this on a black skirt with lots of gold at New Year’s Eve.

New Year's Eve look

I found these sequined leggings and velvet tunic at the consignment shop where I used to work. The top I have had for a few years but have never worn it. I bought the leggings in the spring and haven’t had an opportunity yet to wear them. NYE was the perfect reason to style them. I styled this outfit with two different coats…a long plaid duster jacket and a white boucle coat. I would love to hear your thoughts on which is better but you have to hop on over to my page to see them! Happy Holidays!

Desdemona Duchess of Deco…

On New Year’s Eve, I’m going to an Art Deco themed Murder Mystery Evening…

…I’m Desdemona, Duchess of Daggerford (and all things Art Deco).

I have an inkling I might be guilty as sin…

Light was against me when taking these pictures but this 80’s vintage dress is black with sparkling silver sequins…

…and tiger stripes for the dangerous tiger I am!

(Desdemona that is; not me, I’m a pussycat)

New Year's Eve pre loved look

Holiday dressing up is my favourite!  Loving this quilted, hand-made, vintage maxi skirt- especially worn with this sparkly thrifted top and necklace.  I snatched this skirt from Karalyne of Best Dressed Wallflower.  Her vintage selection is superb, don’t you agree? Perfect for kicking off the holidays!

The parties may be cancelled again but that won’t stop me wearing sequins! For a more comfortable New Year’s Eve outfit I’ve layered a multi-coloured sequin jacket that I bought on eBay over a sparkly jumper (also second hand) and velvet trousers. It’s cosy and warm but has plenty of sparkle and shine to see in the New Year!

Grace of Graceful Rags

sequin dress in blue
Even though I’ve already shared this unique blue dress with the Thrifty Six before, I just knew I had to style it again for a New Year’s Eve look. I switched up my hair, added bedazzled fishnet tights, wore black furry accessories, and added some dramatic hoop earrings. My favorite part about this thrifted dress is the long sleeves—finally, a glitzy yet practical outfit for a chilly NYE!

Did we inspire you with our New Year’s Eve looks? Or with pre loved clothing perhaps. We wish you a merry Christmas!

Nancy, I absolutely love this color combination! It is so rich and so good and so perfectly festive! I need some metallic gold boots! Why do I not have any of those??? I did just order 4 new pairs of boots on a Black Friday sale…I should have looked for gold! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, my friend! And a very Happy New Year as well! Love you!

I’m loving all these festive NYE looks, and yours in particular. That gold-tone Lurex top was a fabulous find and works a treat with that divine pleated skirt, the blazer and, of course, the gold-tone ankle boots!
I’m not sure what I’ll be wearing yet, but it’ll be something easy-going (but still me) as we will be staying at home with just the two of us. I’m not in a partying mood this year. Perhaps we’ll celebrate at a later – and hopefully safer – date with our best friends. xxx

So many great looks on beautiful ladies! I never go out for NYE ( afterr years of hubby being in a band and always being out) but if I did, I’d want to add some sparkle!
