Lock Down Throwback Tuesday #26

lock down

Well, the Netherlands are in a lock down since last Tuesday. It was about time because the infections were much too high. Too bad they didn’t do it earlier than a week before Christmas. Super annoying that I finally had a appointment with my nail stylist last week after having canceled twice. So any idea what my nails look like? And this week I had a appointment with my hairdresser. Also even after having missed an appointment. Well, you will see from the pictures in the coming weeks, gray as a mouse! But January 21, I have an appointment!

Lock down is far more worse then a few missed appointments of course

Gosh, what a terrible year for many of the entrepreneurs. Not to mention the health issues. And it seems to be getting a lot worse with the mutations now being discovered everywhere. I would prefer not to leave my house with Gerben until sometime in March.

Despite the fact that I don’t work and nowhere have to go, so you would think that I am very bored, I am running out of time. Last week we had to arrange a lot for our new car. Insurance and delivery, etc., etc.

On Thursday I had two meetings, one of which failed. I was totally ready and waiting, and then it does not work. First someone would come to my house to attend the meeting together, so I bought cookies, because we don’t normally eat them, but because of the lock down she attended the meeting at her own house. I am now left with two packs of cookies! I have to eat them myself now …. I have a hard life, you understand that ….

New car….what a strange feeling

Saturday the car was delivered and our old one was taken. We loved our Merc, it was a great car, but after almost 12 years we wanted something else. When that was all done Gerben and I looked at each other and said: I don’t feel at all euphoric because there is an almost new car in the driveway. Normally you go to the showroom to pick up your car and drive back home completely exited. Now it was of course different. We felt a bit weird.

We immediately went for a ride of course and then the feeling of exitement came. Sunday we went for a bicycle ride because the weather was nice. Cold, but dry and the sun shone now and then. I came home so cold but it was worth it. Gerben had a breakdown service and was called when he wanted to start cooking. So he got a take away and then he went out and only came home in the middle of the night. He slept a few hours and when on again.

How is your part of the world. Is your country in lock down? I think the most part of Europe is now. Have a good week. Almost Christmas, so lets enjoy that!

Would really appreciate it if you would share my photos on Pinterest.

    Congrats on the new car!

In America, every state is different. Given the economic hardships of lockdown, since Trump administration has offered little in the way of financial support, our businesses here in Nevada are running at 25% capacity. But, we behave as if we are in total lockdown in order to stay safe. Right now 1 out of every five people tested is positive for the virus. (I am encouraged by the vaccine though.) Many states have been so hard hit though that they have run out of hospital beds for new Covid cases. It’s really quite scary.

The new car is exciting!!! Yay!
Too bad about the missed appointments and the cookies you’ll have to take care of on your own – ha!!!
We aren’t in lockdown, our state is open and funny enough, compared to states that have issued lockdowns we’re no worse off. I do see everyone wearing masks. I just don’t see that this will come to an end, especially with all the mutations of the virus. It’s a scary time.

My hubby is still shopping for his new car and is still driving in a rental. Hopefully this weekend! We continue living the way we have: keeping to the same group of people we interact with, shopping with a mask and keeping our hands clean. Not really gathering indoors apart from close family. Covid being a virus, it is going to be like the flu, I am sure. Mutating every year. Not sure we will ever see it disappear but hopefully it will become manageable and less deadly. Ordered some new masks: we will be wearing them a while. Not being pessimistic but trying to be realistic I guess. Hope you all’s lockdown helps with the number of cases and that you and Gerben stay healthy! Merry Christmas!

There is no lockdown in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In Croatia, things are more strict and most places are closed, but here life goes on as usual. I don’t know what is better. I don’t go out much myself. I typically avoid crowds anyway. I love your outfits. It’s cool you have a new phone so you can take more pics. Have a nice day!

Okay, there aren’t many infections over there then? No I don’t like crowds either, I normally don’t, let alone now!

Congratulations on your classy new car, Nancy! About your lockdown, I guess you’re right and it was about time. The non-essential shops have re-opened here on 2 December, but you can only shop solo and for a maximum of 30 minutes. Everything else is closed, including the hairdressers. I was booked in for 3 December, so my hair’s looking a real mess now. It might be a small thing but it’s still doing my head in. xxx

Haha, you should see my hair Ann. I canceled a appointment in October because of the numbers and had to do my roots then. So now I am so grey!!! I hate it.

It’s actually a lot of work to get a new car (exciting too). You have to figure out all of the new things and how to use it!~!!

We went back into lockdown at roughly the same time Nancy in London, fortunately this time I had had my hair appointment! Your car looks great – I showed Mr Mutton that’s the one we want! Hope you have a lovely Christmas in spite of all the restrictions.

Aw, that kitty is the cutest…

We just got a new car too!! Merry Christmas to us! Ours is a Jaguar XK convertible, and as we’ve been carless for over 4 years it’s a pretty big deal. L has been saving for ages to get a really nice car, and we’re able to buy it nearly outright with no debt. He’s out getting it now, so maybe we’ll go for a ride today?? I should shower… lol.

I love your neutral outfit and your leopard dress too! Fab! Happy Christmas, Nancy!

Oh my Sheila show me some photos! I love a Jag! We also bought our car with our own money, safed up for it, I hate debts, we don’t do debts. Have a fabulous ride!!

Congrats on the new car! So sorry that you are in lockdown but I hope that things get safer for you soon and you are able to do more! it’s a big contrast here, with 100 days of no covid cases in our state. There is an outbreak in another state though that makes me sad as they have to have travel restrictions over Christmas. You’re not alone in being in lockdown, and you can celebrate when all this is over!

Hope that you are having a wonderful Christmas week 🙂 I’m so excited for the big day!

Surprised your new car is a ‘him’!! He is most handsome. Hope he will serve you well for many years. You have convinced me that I need a good belt. I have cheap ones but they never seem to look right. Time to spend a little money on a better belt and toss the old ones. Love how you use belts over cardigans. You have such a darling figure and by doing so, you show off that tiny waist!!

Yes it is a him. It’s a very male car, I don’t like feminine cars, lol.
