And finally I have a leopard print skirt again. It was quite a search. I actually always have a leopard print skirt in my closet, and I still have this one. But I wanted a brown one and it had to be the right length, not too thin, etc. etc. I’ve said it before but I like a leopard print a lot. No other animal prints, only leopard. Although I did have this snake print dress. In the past, decades ago, I already wore leopard print. At the time it was seen as rather vulgar, can you imagine that. Now it is in fashion every season. Whether it’s a skirt or dress, earrings or a bag, it’s always trendy. And even if it wasn’t, I still love it.
How the leopard print developed
The leopard print is classy or trashy. It’s just how you wear it. And who of course. In the 1940s Christiaan Dior designed a collection with leopard print about which he said: If you are sweet and fair, don’t wear it. Nuff said….
From then on, the leopard print grew in popularity thanks to Edie Sedgwick (the first influencer in the non-digital world) and Jackie Kennedy and later Debbie Harry. And now we can’t see it out of fashion anymore. This print is also great to mix with. With a stripe or even a floral print. Some bloggers even call the leopard print a neutral. They do have a point there.
How I love to wear my leopard print skirt
Well, of course you now understand that you will not see a very creative, colorful creation. I’m just boring Nancy, always the same Nancy, colorless Nancy, plain Nancy and you name it. So yes, BLACK! I combine my leopard print skirt with that. Did you think otherwise? No of course not.
I am wearing the leopard print skirt with a lovey wool v-neck sweater and my new ankle boots! The perect heel! I wanted boots like these and over sudden, without even searching, I stumpled upon these. Luck has definitely turned my way again….. Golden accessories and a statement ring finishes the look. For me this is a perfect outfit that I will wear a lot this season!

Always love animal print and for me its a neutral in my wardrobe. The outfit looks great , love your boots. Many thanks for hosting Nancy.
Don’t ever say boring Nancy! You are striking in every outfit you put together. Leopard and black what could be better? Edgy and yet classic; dramatic and yet mainstream safe! A win-win!
Leopard print is definitely a classic but you are so right – it can be trashy or classy depending on how you wear it. You wear it so very well Nancy!

Not boring Nancy…classy elegant Nancy. xx
You are definitely NOT colourless and plain Nancy, and I think your leopard + black look is very stylish indeed.
I know what you mean by leopard print being considered vulgar decades ago and – after my punk years, obviously – I hadn’t worn any leopard until a couple of years ago. Now I have several animal print items, mainly leopard, although I do love zebra and snake pattern sometimes as well! xxx
Naaaancyyyy thank you so much! ♥ A huge hug♥

Beautiful outfit, Nancy! Personally black is my favorite with leopard. I appreciate the brief history lesson on leopard too. I like cheetah too, but I don’t have any.

I love leopard print – I linked up a pic of my leopard jacket, which I just wore yesterday (thank you for the link-party, my dear!). This is a fantastic outfit, Nancy – love the new boots, what a great heel. I might do a belt, just to cover up the waistband, but that’s me, always have to add more, ha ha!
I wear my leopard with all kinds of brights: red, yellow, pink, green, blue, orange.

Haha, that’s the beauty of this community! We both love leopard a lot! But you like to wear it totally different then I do. A belt here would feel to much for me, can you imagine!
Your skirt is beautiful, and this outfit is fab.
