Wearing a leather pencil skirt
I love leather pencil skirts. Or faux leather pencil skirts actually. I don’t think I can count them on two hands, the ones I own. I have always loved pencil skirts, I can remember I wore nothing else when I was about 18,19. And later in my early mid 30s I also wore them a lot. They make me feel super feminine. And what has Gaultier got to do with it you might think. Well, let me explain. When I bought the skirt and the sweater( in two different stores) I knew I would want to wear them together. It made me think of the very early collections of Jean Paul Gaultier, known for his use of stripes. And that reminded me of a denim biker jacket I bought when I was 21. I bought a Jean Paul Gaultier jacket back then! In Arnhem! It was to small because it was the only one, can’t remember what I paid for it. But I wanted it. Nobody(in Arnhem that is) knew then who Jean Paul Gaultier was, no one but me! And what was I happy with my jacket! At that time I had a rather turbulent life and I lost the jacket somehow. But I had to think about this when I pictured this combination.
Leather pencil skirt and stripes
I used to wear this look al the time. Not especially with a striped sweater, but a black pencil skirt and a sweater and boots.(prefeably all in black) That was what I wore for years. And don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t out of lack of imagination, I just loved to look like that. So wearing the look I show you today feels fabulous. I still love this look and it feels close to myself. I love all my other outfits too, I mean, if I don’t feel good in an outfit I will not wear it. I don’t put on clothes only because walking outside naked is strange, it has to be a reflection of who I am! And this is so me!
