Jeans! The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book

collage of jeans

Jeans…….Okay……you all know how I feel about jeans. However……all of you like them, not you Ann,  so why not go with the flow. Heck, I even bought a new pair. But you get to see them in another post!

Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series after we had hosted The Bad Buy Book for a year. Now we are ready for a new challenge! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join!

What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book about?

It is a collage of outfits! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We will keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc. But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!

So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Jeans!

First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edgefashion blogger in jeans

These are one of my favorite pairs of jeans ever. I found them on clearance at Torrid a few years ago and they didn’t have my size. But I ended up buying them anyway, two sizes too big! I just wear them like super baggy boyfriend jeans. They combine my favorite things…distressed denim and fishnet! I couldn’t resist the sassy fishnet inlay on the distressed parts. When I wear these jeans, however, most people think I have layered fishnet stockings underneath. But the fishnet is attached to the denim which is way more comfortable than wearing tights and jeans! Definitely a GOOD BUY!

burgundy jeans

I often forget my Old Navy burgundy jeans and then I wear them and want to wear them again! These are about 5 years old now!

Of course Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style joins usdistressed jeans

I never thought I would EVER wear distressed jeans, yet now I have a couple pairs of them.  This is my most distressed pair (gifted to me by a friend). At first I thought I’d wear them with cute tights underneath like Shelbee does. This time, I paired it with a hand knitted vest to counteract the frump. For some reason, wearing my own knitted pieces can make me feel frumpy, so I figured wearing the “holey” jeans would fix that!! LOL

Fashion post with fashion bloggers

My favourite pair of jeans.  I bought them quite a few years ago so have worn them multiple times.  What I like about them that they are hugely versatile.  Normally I would wear them in a casual manner but on this photo I decided to jazz them up with the help of dress shoes and statement jewellery.

I have such a hard time with jeans fitting the way I like them to!  But these glittery darlings are so fun and fit loose and comfy just the way I like them.  I bought them in Athens a few years back. But the glitter girl I am…for me they’ll always remain on trend and stylish.

Here is lovely Ellie of Simply Ellibelle

jeans

These skinny jeans from Banana Republic I found at a clearance price are one of my favorite jeans. They have the right amount of stretch which makes them a pair I can stay in from morning to night and they don’t bag out either. Also loving the mid rise and I think the darker wash is perfect for colder months. These were definitely a Good Buy!

Here we have Rena of Fine Whatever

flared jeans

These flares are one of two pairs of jeans showcased on my blog in the past week. It’s difficult to deny the unmatched power that flared jeans have to elongate your legs, to create balance in your silhouette, and to effortlessly ground your style.

These jeans are a Good Buy.  I found them randomly at Burlington Coat Factory.  The brand is American Vintage.  They are a great rise, length, fit and price!

And here is one of two jeans of meculotte in denim

I actually love these culotte a lot! Perhaps because it is not such a mainstream jeans. These are about 4 years old and I like them better and better. Wear them also a lot when I go for a bicycle ride!

We hope you liked this months theme jeans and perhaps you got inspired! I did! Need to buy fishnet tights now!

December’s theme will be: Paisley!

And now hop over to Shelbee’s blog to see what the other fashion bloggers are wearing!

Send your photo with a few sentences if it is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlights! Send it please before the 10th of each month to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com

You know me so well, Nancy :-)) Oh, that really made me giggle! Anyway, I stand to be corrected. I do like jeans, just not on me. Perhaps I still have to meet the right pair, eh? I wouldn’t mind trying out some culotte style ones like yours one day! xxx

Haha, I think jeans on you would really look kind a weird. They are way to ordinary for you!

    Nancy,

Your culottes are marvelous and a nice twist of the standard denim fare. This showcase of so many gals wearing their favorite jeans is wonderful.

I still haven’t gotten on board with the distressed jeans – I’ve never found a pair that I really like, plus I almost never wear jeans at all. I love Shelbee’s pre-fishnetted jeans, and Nancy, your culottes are fabulous!

Oh thanks. I did buy a new pair of jeans, don’t worry, they are my only pair. The other ones have to go!

Funny how so many of us of a certain age poo-pooed distressed denim. I know I did. And now I love it. So comfy. And the distressing adds a level of bling or pop or fun. Love love love Shelbee’s jeans with the fishnet underneath. Oh, I miss my days of fishnet and seamed hose. Am I too old for that now?

I have a brown pair of culotte jeans that I can’t decide about. Wearing them for the second time today. My daughter liked them, my husband doesn’t. Yours are very flattering. Maybe I need to try mine with heels?
