FITTED BLOUSE WITH SHOULDER PADS & JACQUARD WOVEN TROUSERS & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

FITTED BLOUSE WITH SHOULDER PADS & JACQUARD WOVEN TROUSERS & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

A blouse with shoulder pads…how do you feel about that?

I was actually happily surprised when I was wearing this blouse. I did not notice the shoulder pads when I ordered this one. I mean, when I see a trend for the second time mostly it doesn’t make me happy. Click here for some collections with shoulder pads. But it is elegant, stylish and gives the blouse a little more swoomph! But I think that if you’re wider in the shoulders, you don’t want them in your closet. Just like I don’t want straight trousers because I have no buttocks and thin legs. I look like an idiot whenever I try those trousers.

What about green and beige?

Beige is normally a color that I should not wear on the upper half. But this blouse with shoulder pads comes only in this color, I had to make a sacrifice. I loved it to much! The blouse has brackets on the front, just like a corset. And what about the trousers. I said it before, I don’t like trousers that much but with this one I just felt for the color. I’m not quite happy with the design of the trousers because it is a bit wider. And it also has got a high waist with folds, so it looks like you have eaten everything on the menu at the sushi restaurant.(which I could!) But it’s the color… A beautiful shade of green with a woven leaf print. I look like a wood, a wood in fall! Haha, I even matched my earrings!blouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsblouse with shoulder padsBlouse: here

I adore this outfit and would wear it exactly the way you have it. That top is so fun and I don’t mind the return of the shoulder pads because I have very narrow shoulders. I don’t really want to see the humongous ones that were popular in the 80s though! Ha Ha. The pants are crazy cute!!! And your booties pull it all together! Perfection all around!
    Happy Weekend!

I think that the colors are fine and I like the retro look of the outfit. Your full and wild hair adds a fun detail to the look that I like as well. Thank you for sharing this great styling idea and for the link up.

A really original look. The blouse is beautiful and the trousers are very special, for the design and for the stamping. A nice mix of classicism and informality. And that hairstyle? Absolutely wonderfull!

Certainly not boring beige more of a light camel just like your boots and it echoes the red tones in your hair. Always surprising to see the different combinations you can make with khaki – a great pairing! x

    • October 13, 2017 / 12:52 pm

Thank you! I think that any colour looks good with khaki!

  10. October 13, 2017 / 10:08 am

I was thinking it’s more a tan or gold colour than beige? Definitely suits you, and looks great with the earrings and boots.

    • October 13, 2017 / 12:55 pm

Yes, I think it’s a bit more tan. Thank you Gail!

Shoulder pads are returning? This is the first I’ve heard. I’m sure I’ll be seeing them everywhere now. I really liked them back in the 80’s and 90s and would love to wear them again. I actually think they are flattering on everyone because they give the illusion of better posture and make our waistlines look smaller.

    • October 13, 2017 / 5:19 pm

      You are so right! Thanks!

Oh my goodness, Nancy…I love, love, LOVE this look on you!! Might be my favourite yet!! Of course the colour palette of beige and olive is right up my alley…but these tones suit YOU to a “T”, too!! The blouse with the corset fasteners and statement sleeves is right on trend right now (I didn’t even notice the shoulder pads!) and those trousers are AWESOME…especially with the sleek sock booties!! You go, girl!! XOXO

I avoid wearing beige near my face too but I think you can wear it – it looks fabulous one. Perhaps it’s because you have your hair down? The top itself looks amazing on you too – I’m one of those people that avoids shoulder pads, I’d look like an American football player lol.
    LOVE the trousers!!

Haha, a lot of women don’t like them. I think it depends on the garment. Sometimes it can look good!

  30. October 15, 2017 / 11:37 am

Love those pants. Beige and green are staple combo. Sometimes I’ll add a splash of red but you’ve added a splash of style detail.

Hi Nancy. I am so pleased to meet you! Now I love this outfit on YOU. It would look awful on ME…lol. I’m too ‘round’! As for shoulder pads…as one who has sloping shoulders, I love shoulder pads to add a bit of shape and structure. Not those 80s things that make you look like a wrestler. Just little subtle ones. I think the shoulder pads lend this top a great shape. You look fab. Thanks for the linkup too. Mimi
