Because March is the International Women’s Day month, we thought powersuits and boss lady outfits would be a great theme! It didn’t have to be a suit!! Just some outfit you feel like a boss lady in! Lets see what makes you feel powerful!
Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series after we had hosted The Bad Buy Book for a year. Now we are ready for a new challenge! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book about?
It is a collage of outfits! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We will keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc. But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!
So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Boss lady outfits!
First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge
There is something super special about a body contouring pencil skirt that makes me feel like I can conquer the world! When I amp up the sass factor by baring a bit of mid section, it empowers me even more. It must be something about owning my sexuality and my body autonomy that makes me feel like I have all the superpowers! Happy International Women’s Day to all of you fabulous females making a difference in the world!
Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style
I think my footwear is such an important factor when it comes to feeling powerful. These snakeskin boots give me that feeling (along with the ones in Shelbee’s post)
Sheila of Ephemera
One of my clothing mottos is, “Always be upgrading,” so looking for the apex of a particular item, like the Best Black Pencil Skirt. When I found this leopard blouse in September 2010, I knew I’d found the Best Leopard Top.
Valerie of Maple Leopard
I love wearing red because it raises the pulse rate and helps us feel more energetic, powerful and attractive.
Joanne of Slices of Life
I feel powerful when I feel pulled together and slightly on-trend. I don’t often wear trendy pieces but every now and then I find an outfit that makes me feel both powerful and “hip” (is that even a saying anymore?!). I have been loving my new Stitch fix sweater and just fell in love with how comfy and stylish it was paired with my leggings, knee high boots, and scarf.
And what makes me feel like a boss lady?
Yes of course it is black! And a good contrast in a outfit! Like these cool looking trousers with a feminine lace top and heels! Nothing feels as good to me as a black outfit!
I would love it if you would share your outfits with #nancysfashionstyle and tag @nancysstyle! Thanks!
April’s theme will be: Florals!
And now hop over to Shelbee’s blog to see what the other fashion bloggers are wearing!
Send your photo with a few sentences if it is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlights! Send it please before the 10th of each month to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to batennancy@gmail.com
By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for next month!

Thanks Ellie! And thanks for joining us!
What a fun theme, and the entries surprised me with their variety! Obviously, the definition of a boss lady outfit is interpreted differently depending on each participant’s taste and experience. I’m particularly loving Jodie’s boots, Sheila’s leopard blouse and bronze pleated skirt outfit, and your all-black one! xxx
