Black knitted dress with a pink blazer.
At first I wanted to wear this black knitted dress with a black cardigan( of course, how predictable can you be) but then I thought about red and pink. I love red and pink together and I have this beautiful bright pink blazer that you have seen here before. It has a beautiful orange lining. A black knitted dress is a garment that I always own in winter time. It’s warm, stylish and very easy to wear and to combine. You can wear them with high heels to make the look more stylish, or wear comfortable boots for a sporty look. I am not very fond of a sporty look, I only wear that when the weather is bad and I have to do my groceries. The weather here is fortunately a bit better. It has been really cold here, for Dutch standards. There were days when the temperature didn’t reach above zero. And all that snow, pfff I hate that. Those temperatures are very bad for my lungs. So I hardly get out of my house then. Well let me tell you, that is not something to get cheerful over.
Like I said: red! I actually never wear these sandals in summer but I like them a lot more in winter or fall with tights. I added a red bracelet that I bought when I was for the first time in England, as a adult that is. I have been there many times with my parents in my teens. I bought the bracelet at Claire’s in Canterbury! It was 15 years ago! So this bracelet always reminds me of the UK. You might think, well it’s just a bracelet from Claire’s. Nothing special. But it was the first time that Gerben and I went together England and he didn’t know if he would like it. As you may perhaps no by now, if I were healthy, I would moved years ago to England! And he loved it as much as I do. So that was a fantastic holiday, one of many more! Now we go at least twice a year.
I am also wearing a red belt and pink peacock earrings. Don’t you love the brooche! I think it’s really cute.

The story behind these tall boots.
I am really very happy with these boots. I’ll tell you why. I had last year bought these boots. A nice quality suède and elastic at the top making them sank not a millimeter. But there was a big problem with these boots. I could not walk normally on them! Because of my lung disease I cannot walk on high heels anymore(it’s to exhausting) But these are not that high and the tread was wide. I don’t know what it is but I cannot walk on these. I look like a construction worker when I walk on it. They were good for only one thing: I was featured with these boots at Everything Just So! Well, I still wanted some other over the knee boots in brown suède. I came across these and there was some kind of discount week going on and I paid €30 for these. Is that a bargain or what! They have a block heel and are easy to walk on and they don’t sack either. I am very happy with these!
How I love to style my tall boots.
I never wear boots over pants. It might look good on others, it certainly doesn’t work for me at all. I think denim and brown combine great, it gives denim a more sturdy look I think. Perhaps it reminds me of cowboys……I have nothing to do with cowboys…..don’t even like westerns or country music! I digress. I wanted to wear this long cardigan with the jeans and the boots. This amazing leopard print blouse would look good on it too because of the colors, but the cardigan made the outfit look very pale. So I decided to wear a dark brown shorter cardigan over the pale one. Because the darker brown one is a bit to wide, I closed it on my back with the last button. I added some brown and gold colored bracelets in different materials and leave earrings, I also wore a leave bracelet. And a beautiful leather wrap belt. I really love this outfit and it is perfect for this cold weather because of all the layers. I hope you like my outfit too!
