BUTTON DOWN SKIRT,VELVET & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Me and my button down skirt.

I can remember that as a child I also had a button down skirt. A yellow/brown one! Yes I was a child in the 70’s. I did search for a picture of me in that skirt but I have very few pictures of myself…..that is until I started my blog eh, I’m now catching up! So now a button down skirt always gives me a bit of a boho feel. And what fits then better then something velvet. I bought this skirt last year and I was told by the saleswoman, who was a former colleague of mine, to size down because the skirt would losen up one size. I thought it wouldn’t because I could feel that. But you don’t want to be stubborn……but now it is still to small!

Wearing a cardigan just for the color.

This cardigan I only bought because of the color. I had a lot of outfits wherein I wanted to add something brown. And I have never found a nice brown sweater. This is a very cheap cardigan, it’s not fitted, it’s not exiting, it’s actually three times nothing. But….I wear it purely for the color. I have done it before here. And so I wear the velvet camisole over the cardigan so there is still some brown to see what fits well with the boots. These wooden bracelets perfectly match the outfit. And I added a brooche to complete the whole. Thanks to Jodie and Jess I am now quite addicted to brooches!

Note: I stopped to feature my favorite of the week. I told you I would pick my favorite when I reached 100 linkups per week. Last week I had 74! I don’t mind the extra work, I like it actually but I need a little support from you okay? I also need your support for the Styled by…. series. If nobody mails me their style story then I need to stop with that serie. Wouldn’t that be a pitty? I think so…

SHEER BOW BLOUSE & LEATHER PENCIL SKIRT LINKUP

Fancy Friday linkup is on at the bottom of the post!

I must say I never thought that there would ever join so many amazing women( and a male!) the Fancy Friday linkup. Every week it’s wonderful to see what will be on display for stunning outfits, fun stories and delicious recipes. I find it very nice to see every week who is the most viewed and hope that that person is as happy as I am when I’m being featured by another blogger. Thank you my faithful and new linkuppers!

Sheer bow blouse & leather pencil skirt.

We had a lovely late summer day here on Sunday in the Netherlands. It was around 19 degrees and the sun was shining. It was only one day, by the end of the week it will be 11 degrees. But we enjoyed the sun! I actually thought when I put on the blouse that maybe it was less translucent. But when I saw the pictures I thought, mm should I wear this. But I think a camisole underneath would be less nicer. And the fact that the bow is exactly on the right place saves the day. I love bow blouses, but as I stated here, this one is also not very convenient while cooking or eating for that matter. So this is actually a sit down and do nothing blouse. I also hope that I no longer will be tempted to buy more leather skirts. I can namely not wear them at home! We have a stark white leather couch! Wich is a shame because I love leather skirts and dresses. So this would be then a, straight out the door, skirt. Well I don’t  think this is going to be my favorite outfit. Too much hassle.

Skirt: mine was already sold out, I’m sorry, simular here

LEOPARD PRINT & CHECKERED FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Fancy Friday linkup

I f you do not want to read the whole story or you just can’t handle me wearing two prints, scroll right down and linkup! For the heroes…. hold on tight!

Leopard print & checkered!

Most of you know by now that I am not into prints very often. You should see my kitchen and living room, stark white, no frills, empty, almost sterile. And so it is with my style, no fuss. Well then you will, I think, be surprised that I am wearing two prints today! I actually surprised myself too! But when I saw this cardigan, it looks a bit like a jacket, I knew immediately that it would look great on this blouse. I wear the sleeves up because, yeah, that’s the trend eh! Haha, but I like it.  But why does this combination works for me? I have no idea. I searched on the net about mixing prints to give you some tips, but I have apparently failed to comply with the hints. Does that mean I look like I dressed myself in the dark? Haha, no I don’t think so. I think that if it feels good, it is! And when in doubt….DON’T. Never! Btw, I saw here a beautiful coat and they also have a gorgeous pencilskirt in the same print! H&M has got great new items this week.

STYLE MIX & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Fancy Friday linkup on Pinterest!

I never immersed myself in Pinterest until Sunday after breakfast I didn’t feel like doing something yet, the mails were all answered, so I thought I give it a shot. And it turned out to be quite fun.( you of course do know this already) I now made a board were I feature the Fancy Friday most viewed and when Fancy Friday reach 100 linkups I make a board to feature my favorite! Last week there was one linkup more! Come on girls, you can do better! Spread the word!

Different styles in one outfit.

I’m not the type that wears a lot of prints or is creative with clothes, but I do always like to mix styles. Think pencilskirt/bikerjacket for instance. The off shoulder(that isn’t off shoulder on me, it snapped back the hole time) top is a bit beach look but could also be Boho. This is my first off shoulder top….and the last. I bought it because I love the color and the sleeves but off shoulder does not look good on me, I will wear this one as a mot off shoulder one! Ideal is that it has three-quarter sleeves. I have nothing with long sleeves. The boots are real seventies, block heel suède and beige. I could wear my front button skirt with the top and boots but I like this one better. It’s a denim skirt with a beautiful deepblue color. I have many high/low skirts, blouses and dresses. I love them, I think they are jaunty, cheerful and feminine. This skirt is pretty long in the back and has a nice bow!

MILITARY LOOK WITH JOGGERS

Today I mix the Military look with joggers!

I already said here were the love for ruffles came from, but this item is also a bit from the same period. The eighties! Only back then we bought these Military  jackets in dump stores. These were stores where they sold clothing and items from the army. We all wore these green trenchcoats and short army green jackets. Well apparently I’ve not changed that much because I still like a Military look. Bur now I’ve mixed it with joggers.

Shopping in stores that you normally pass.

Do you recognize this, that you never go to a particular store because you think they have nothing nice there, and then suddenly you walk pass the store and there it is… a perfect jacket. So you take a look at it, in the store, yes very nice but you walk on because you never buy in that store! Then you go on a holiday and when you get back the item is still dangling in the back of your head. Okay, you look at it on the internet and again and again, and then you decide  to subscribe to the newsletter, who knows there are still more nice items and you don’t want to miss that do you? So a few days later, just when you decided to buy the jacket, you get a mail that they have a family night in your village were they give you a 30% discount on everything and you may reserve. Well, you know it by now: I bought the jacket! But sometimes you have that, that you never shop in a particular store and then suddenly you see something that you like very much. So you see again that you should never juge a book by it’s cover!(wink)

Styling joggers.

I’ve shown these joggers before here. As it is obvious to wear this jacket on jeans or a leather leggings, I thought it would be nice to style it in a more unusual way. And then I thought of the joggers. Because the jacket and the joggers are dark, I thought that adding a bit of color would be the right thing to do. But I wanted to show you a bright color and a soft tone. I find the outfit with the brighter red top most succesful. Because the jacket is a bit edgy I added some pearls for the contrast. On the pink top outfit I wear a brooche with blue tones and a necklace that I wear as a bracelet because the colors matched so well. My hairdresses had also been creative! Love it!

Now I am curious, wich outfit do you like better?

blue leather&khaki lace outfit

Fancy Friday linkup and wearing blue and khaki!

Join me in my Fancy Friday linkup and meet lovely other lady’s with wonderful blogs! Read more at the bottom of this post.

Do you remember when I bought this blazer? It was here. See more of it here. Such a fun market to go to. You can walk around there all day, eating, people watching. It’s the largest indoor market in Europe. But there are also lots of stalls outside, so if the weather is nice it is great to be there. We go there once a year to replenish my stock of perfume and just for fun. ( and to buy leather).

What about the outfit?

I love the color of this blazer so much, it’s a little antique blue( does antique blue actually exist as a color?). And it is so soft and supple. I find this color combination very beautiful. I think khaki is always a cool color, for that reason the feminine lace top is a perfect match. I have shown these pants twice before, here and here and you can not see it that well on the picture, but it has a bit of a shine, a tiny touch of gold! I wear blue earrings and a khaki leather bracelet and a suède blue/grey necklace. To be honest I had long wanted to throw the pumps away, but the color is the same as the blazer. So I used them a bit for the picture, but you will not see them anymore!blue leather&khaki lace outfit blue leather&khaki outfit blue leather&khaki lace outfit blue leather&khaki lace outfit blue leather&khaki lace outfit blue leather&khaki lace outfit blue leather&khaki lace outfit blue leather&khaki lace outfit
