HOW TO WEAR LEATHER LEGGINGS IN FALL & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Leather leggings weather!

Yes, at last I can wear my leather legging again! Faux leather legging is what I actually mean. In the summer it is way to hot to wear these, but now that it is colder I can finally take them out of the closet. This legging is so very nice to wear, the waist is pretty high so you don’t have to pull it up all the time. And it is a very stretchy one, and very stylish….at least I think so. Leather leggings are so versatile. You can wear them with a long cool sweater, with a tunic and you can even wear a dress on it. It has something ,,edgyness,, yet it is also a very feminine item. That is to say, when you wear it with heels. I never actually wear the leather leggings with flat boots. I’m not a biker. Gerben is! ( he does wear his leather,,legging”(read pants of course)with flat boots). But that’s a totally different look!

You have seen this before!

The very very observant reader might think: where did I see that striped thing before? Right! Here! But the tee was a bit to short, and as a 50+ woman walking around with a naked belly is to much Little Britain for me. So I cut the sleeves et voila! I wear blue earrings and my blue sandals, which really were my favorite last season. My dragonfly broche has a little bit blue in it and I showed my blue leather blazer before here.leather leggingsleather leggingsleather leggingsleather leggingsleather leggingsleather leggingsleather leggings

POLKA DOT DRESS IN RED WHITE AND BLUE

My old polka dot dress

But first I want to thank Catherine of Not Dressed As Lamb for her fantastic post about nofollow links. It took me half a day to figure it out( and a hole lot more things to sort out) but it made me finally change some important matters on my blog. Thank you so much catherine!

This is an old polka dot dress. I think I own this one for about six or seven years now. Bought in the shop were I used to work. I bought a lot of clothes back then because I got a 50% discount. And if you get new clothes in every day, you get greedy. I can remember buying this dress and thinking: let’s get that one because I havn’t got anything with polka dots. Actually, I can’t remeber wearing a polka dot dress or anything else with polka dots. I wear stripes, not a lot but I do wear them. I wear checkered garments regularly, but not dots. At least as a child I did, because I found this very old photo of me in a polka dot blouse! It’s a very poor quality, I know, but I thought it would be fun to show you. Also funny is that the blouse is blue and white with a little bit red! Just as this outfit!

Polka dot dress with a touch of red

I have never found a good cardigan with this dress. Till now that is. I had bought red flats, when I bought the dress, and wanted a red short cardigan with it. Never found one. Or the color wasn’t right, or the fabric wasn’t. There seemed to be always something wrong. I then bought a white one but was never really happy with the combination. I’ve been wearing a denim jacket on this dress a lot. But finally in April I found a simple red cardigan that I also wore here. I’d rather had it a bit shorter but I settle for this one. The stupid thing is that I finally have the cardigan, that I had wanted six or seven years ago, but now the dress is actually a bot too tight because I gain weight in the last years. Is that fate? Lol.

But finally the dress with a red cardigan

I just think this is the most beautiful combination of the dress, with red. It looks a bit Spanish. Also because of the ruffles of course. I do not show the dress without the cardigan. It has the same sleeves as at my childhood picture, but I can’t wear it with the buttons closed, I actually can’t for a long time! Lol.me as a little girl in polka dot dress

LEOPARD PRINT & CHECKERED FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Fancy Friday linkup

I f you do not want to read the whole story or you just can’t handle me wearing two prints, scroll right down and linkup! For the heroes…. hold on tight!

Leopard print & checkered!

Most of you know by now that I am not into prints very often. You should see my kitchen and living room, stark white, no frills, empty, almost sterile. And so it is with my style, no fuss. Well then you will, I think, be surprised that I am wearing two prints today! I actually surprised myself too! But when I saw this cardigan, it looks a bit like a jacket, I knew immediately that it would look great on this blouse. I wear the sleeves up because, yeah, that’s the trend eh! Haha, but I like it.  But why does this combination works for me? I have no idea. I searched on the net about mixing prints to give you some tips, but I have apparently failed to comply with the hints. Does that mean I look like I dressed myself in the dark? Haha, no I don’t think so. I think that if it feels good, it is! And when in doubt….DON’T. Never! Btw, I saw here a beautiful coat and they also have a gorgeous pencilskirt in the same print! H&M has got great new items this week.

DRESS OR SKIRT? & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Fancy Friday linkup.

And it is time for the Fancy Friday linkup. I must say that I love being busy with  the Fancy Friday linkup. Every week I see new faces and I think that is great! I hope you are also discovering new bloggers(for you) again. I also think it’s great fun to see who the last week most viewed was. I am a person who always set goals for herself and my next goal is to also choose every week my favorite. But… I will do that when Fancy Friday hit 100 linkups! So I’m now halfway! I would appreciate it if you would help me reach my goal and promote the Fancy Friday linkup!

Is it a dress or skirt?

I had not planned on shopping in England because I had a shopping day planned in the Netherlands, but you will agree with me that I could not let this one hang. But first I will show you this brooche and ring. The ring is selfmade from waste of materials the maker uses. So simple but so beautiful. The brooche is a funny story. When we were in Hastings in May, I told gerben I wanted to find in an antique shop an authentic brooche. I then found a very nice one and when we got home I asked Gerben to clean it for me(I’m a bit weird in that area, I assumed it was a second hand one, and then think that the person who wore it before is perhaps deceased and I don’t touch it then until it is cleaned, read decontaminated. So Gerben knows me by now and cleaned it very well and I was happy with it. And then I lost it! Don’t no where, don’t know when(?) I regretted that very much because it was not just a brooche, it was a brooche from my beloved England! I decided to buy a new one the next time. So, we went to the same shop and I was looking for another one when the lady asked me if I was looking for something special. I told her the story of the brooche ( not the decontaninating thing) and she said: Did you buy this one? What????? She had two more of them! I thought it was authentic! But I had my brooche back!( I am sorry, it’s not the best picture but I am running late and have no time taking a new one)brooche and ring in DRESS OR SKIRT? & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

And we still have the question, is it a dress or skirt?

A while ago I showed you my maxi skirt wich I actually prefer to wear as a dress. When I saw this dress I knew immediatly that I would never wear it as a dress, but it would be a great skirt! I find the colors so beautiful and the print of the leaves and flowers makes this skirt a fabulous autumn skirt. I bought it in Rye on the market for five pounds!

CAMOUFLAGE LEGGINGS & DENIM DRESS

The outfit of the day is a camouflage leggings & denim dress.

What! I hear you say. Leggings! Yes! And I’ll make it worse….on Friday you get to see another…. one with a leopard print. Be prepared!

Well, okay then, but how to wear camouflage leggings stylish?

First I have to say that you really have to watch out that it’s not going to be a cheap look. If you are sitting at home, watching TV on the couch, there is nothing wrong with leggings and a baggy sweater. You should see how I look like on a Friday night. But please, don’t leave your house on plastic slippers and leggings. Well, I don’t anyway. But I do like them, they come in the most beautiful prints and colors, so why not? If you styled leggings with fabrics like chiffon or, for example as I do, with a denim dress then it gives the outfit a stylish touch and not the cheap look. And not to many accesories and very high heels. That is my opinion, I am not saying that this is the only way to wear leggings stylish! Don’t get me wrong( I hear Chrissy Hynde!).

[bctt tweet=”How to wear leggings in a stylish way?” username=”Nancys Fashion Style”]

The denim dress you have already seen here and here, but I did like the sturdy touch with the camouflage print. At some photos I even look a little tough! Lol. And I like it that the green in the print is a bit of a mint green.  I am very curious how you feel about wearing leggings and what youre thoughts are about mine!

I have already shown previously where the dress and the shoes come from and the leggings you can buy in markets.

Have a great day everybody!

BACK TO BLACK!

Today I’m going back to black!

After wearing a lot of colorful outfits this summer, I now want to go back to black today! Sometimes it’s just so nice to wear all black. And to think that I wore before black almost every day! Ah, what a person can change! I bought this dress a long time ago and never worn. When I wore it for the first time I thought, mm, it’s actually a bit short and it’s not really me either. After a long time I did fit it again with in my mind that I did not like the dress. And I liked it! I thought that it looked good suddenly. But I didn’t wore it, I just fitted it. So yesterday I wanted to wear the dress and  when I had it on……what do you think? I didn’t like it again! What the …is it with this dress?

[bctt tweet=”Back to black, but not in my favorite dress!” username=”Nancys Fashion Style”]

Back to black in a dress that doesn’t make me happy!

Crazy huh! So this one goes with the clothes to sell! Defenitely! I’m not going to try again. And the design of the dress is really nice, it’s a beautiful chiffon, it has lots of details and it’s a good quality. But I do not like the pleats and ruffles in one item and it is too short. I have a pretty long upper body and a short skirt or dress brings my figure out of proportion. So I’m done with it. I finally wear black again, and I don’t like it. Well great! And now I’m taking it of, because it is bikini weather here! Yeah, finally!

I hope you all can enjoy some summer days too. We have a heat wave here in the Netherlands! That means lots of reading in the sun and take a splash in the water! Oh yeah! (btw, yes I saw it when I previewd this post! I have to clean the garage door!)
