FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP LET’S HIT 100!

Fancy Friday linkup!

Wow, last week I was almost reached my goal of 100 linkups. There were 93! Amazing! We’re almost there, give it an extra push all together! Love you all for being so loyal!

Whining about nothing!

I had a real bad day yesterday. You know, an off day without a good reason. When I woke up there was nothing wrong, went sporting, everything was just fine. I had nothing else stand all afternoon and felt like an afternoon working on the blog. So I install myself in front of the laptop with some food and drinks, changed in something comfortable and get going. First answering the mail and then check all the blogs on new posts. And there it started. One after the other blogger was involved in nice collaborations with other bloggers and those who weren’t had great collaborations with interesting brands! Headache started to come and I got more and more frustrated. By the time I had checked all the blogposts and see who actually do not comment on my blog, I felt very said and insignificant, especially insignificant.

Why I let it be so important.

Why I let that affect me by others? Why is it so important to me that others respond to me, that others want to work with me, that I also get offers from businesses? At one point I was so sick of myself that I turned off the laptop and started cleaning up, emptied the dishwasher and played with the cats for a while. I said to myself: what a childish bitch you are! Just be happy for those bloggers! And what was I to complain anyway. I started blogging because I love to write and fashion is my passion. Is it not Nancy! Or do you let yourself influence suddenly by numbers? Oh no girl! Zen!

I never really had much confidence. Although since I found the niche in blogging and I better learn to accept my situation it’s getting better. But very rarely, I was unconsciously tired or something, I get influenced so that the confidence is crumbling a bit. It’s all human. I for one am already so far that I recognize it and end it. I can kick my ass and say: move on! I do things in my own way and that is a way I feel comfortable with. And I am proud of that!

DRESS OR SKIRT? & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Fancy Friday linkup.

And it is time for the Fancy Friday linkup. I must say that I love being busy with  the Fancy Friday linkup. Every week I see new faces and I think that is great! I hope you are also discovering new bloggers(for you) again. I also think it’s great fun to see who the last week most viewed was. I am a person who always set goals for herself and my next goal is to also choose every week my favorite. But… I will do that when Fancy Friday hit 100 linkups! So I’m now halfway! I would appreciate it if you would help me reach my goal and promote the Fancy Friday linkup!

Is it a dress or skirt?

I had not planned on shopping in England because I had a shopping day planned in the Netherlands, but you will agree with me that I could not let this one hang. But first I will show you this brooche and ring. The ring is selfmade from waste of materials the maker uses. So simple but so beautiful. The brooche is a funny story. When we were in Hastings in May, I told gerben I wanted to find in an antique shop an authentic brooche. I then found a very nice one and when we got home I asked Gerben to clean it for me(I’m a bit weird in that area, I assumed it was a second hand one, and then think that the person who wore it before is perhaps deceased and I don’t touch it then until it is cleaned, read decontaminated. So Gerben knows me by now and cleaned it very well and I was happy with it. And then I lost it! Don’t no where, don’t know when(?) I regretted that very much because it was not just a brooche, it was a brooche from my beloved England! I decided to buy a new one the next time. So, we went to the same shop and I was looking for another one when the lady asked me if I was looking for something special. I told her the story of the brooche ( not the decontaninating thing) and she said: Did you buy this one? What????? She had two more of them! I thought it was authentic! But I had my brooche back!( I am sorry, it’s not the best picture but I am running late and have no time taking a new one)brooche and ring in DRESS OR SKIRT? & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

And we still have the question, is it a dress or skirt?

A while ago I showed you my maxi skirt wich I actually prefer to wear as a dress. When I saw this dress I knew immediatly that I would never wear it as a dress, but it would be a great skirt! I find the colors so beautiful and the print of the leaves and flowers makes this skirt a fabulous autumn skirt. I bought it in Rye on the market for five pounds!

BOYFRIENDJEANS, BIRD PRINT TEE & linkup

Simplicity with boyfriendjeans and a bird print tee.

Sometimes, just sometimes I like to wear a pair of jeans. I then prefer a boyfriend jeans with a blouse and heels or a nice tee like today. Bird prints on dresses or shirts I always find nice.  I still remember that when I went to live on my own, yeah yeah long time ago, I had in my bedroom wallpaper with swallows, just like this tee only the wallpaper was white and blue. I think a bird print radiates something comforting, relaxing. Or I just like Alfred Hitchcock!

Why don’t I like jeans?

Well, I’ve always been a dresses and skirts girl, but jeans I always associate as being boring and a ,,just walk with what the rest is wearing” item. It also comes from the time I worked in the east of the country, everyone there wore jeans, really everyone! Women who didn’t even like jeans, did not want to stand out so they wore jeans. The mentality there was not fine, a little underhanded, hidebound(is that a correct word?do you know what I mean?).  So I compare that mentality with jeans or the other way round actually. It of course makes no sense for whole tribes wear jeans and are not underhanded and know how to wear a pair of jeans in a fun, stylish or just relaxed way.

And now do not put all your jeans outfits as a protest in the linkup! Haha!

Enjoy your weekend!

WHITE SUMMERY DRESS & LINKUP

Wearing a white summery dress & linkup time!

I only wear white when there is a heat wave. So like now! I find it very ugly if you have stains on your clothes, and with white I feel that I must look all the time where I can sit down, if it is a bit dirty, or that you don’t touch the skirt or dress. I have therefore little white items, a few basics, a blouse and this dress. I showed it before here on the blog when I just started. Hahaha, I think I’ve grown a little since then! Blogging I mean eh!

[bctt tweet=”Are you wearing white dresses in Summertime? Show me!” username=”Nancys Fashion Style”]

A white dress when there’s a heat wave.

I wore the dress Wednesday night when we were with friends having drinks. So that’s why I wore the cardigan because it cools down quite quickly late in the evening. When it is so hot I prefer to wear something you don’t feel. A dress so, not a bodycon, but a not too tight dress. Little accesories, no scarfs and shoes where your feet can grow in. Mine get thicker in the heat! Of course you can wear bright colors with white, I prefer neutrals. Or, as I saw yesterday by Jodie, orange!

Dress: old, but this is a nice one too.

Sandals: simular here

Anklet: I forgot to wear this one!

BLACK & WHITE DRESS WITH COBALT & LINKUP

Black, white and cobalt is a nice threesome.

I’m wearing today a black and white dress with a touch of cobalt. And it is Fancy Friday and that means linkup time! Last week there were a lot of new bloggers that participated, thanks for that! I love to meet new bloggers and hope you also met bloggers you didn’t know yet! At the bottom of the post is were you can linkup for this week and the most clicked  is being featured.

Why is a dress so often seen as a festive garment?

When I was still working, in a trendy fashion store, many women came to us to buy a dress for a special occasion. Our store was known for the dresses! Usually we sold a jacket, clutch and accesories with the dress too. Often these women said that they probably would never wear the dress after the occasion because it would be to fancy. What a waste! Then you have this gorgious dress wich you never wear anymore! Why? We always showed the customer how they could wear the dress in a more casual way. My colleagues and me always wore clothes from the store and because we had to stand and walk all day, we always wore (in winter) boots without heel. That looks a lot more casual then high heeled shoes. And in summer you can wear flats or sneakers. A long or short cardigan also makes the look more casual. As simple as that. It’s all about how you look at the dress. You should not see it as a special occasion dress, it’s an item for each day!

Dress: sold out but here is where I bought it and worked!

Shoes: sold out, but these are from the same brand

Bolero: here

Most clicked on from last linkup is Bogi from Red Reticule, who showes a business meets feminine style on her blog. In black!!! I love it!

JADE GREEN DRESS & LINKUP

Today is Jade green dress day!

Ton sur ton, as they call it. Probably most of you would think this is boring….. yeah it is! But sometimes I am a plain Jane. So what, you can’t be fibrant all the time! Hahaha, I am laughing my socks of here. Okay, lets cut the crap.

Fancy Friday linkup!

Last week 51 of you took part on the linkup. Great! Fantastic! That was my first goal for the end of this month. In the pocket! I decided, when I started my Fancy Friday linkup, that when I had 50 I would feature the most clicked on. But I want more. I also would like to feature my favorite. But I would like to give the linkup a theme every week. And I really would like to know what you think about that. Do you like linkups with a theme? Please let me know in the comments.

[bctt tweet=”Do you like linkups with a theme? Please let me know!” username=”Nancys Fashion Style”]

What to wear with a jade green dress and jacket.

I told you I am a plaine jane, so there is nothing special about this outfit , exept for the color wich I really love. This is such a lovely dress, and when I have washed it , I just hang it to dry and no ironing needed. Ideal. These earrings are fantastic, the color changes the complexion of my skin, it makes me softer. So beautiful what color can do for you.The sandals have a snake print with green beads in it. The pictures are not the best, it’s taken inside because it is raining here al week long!

Dress: old, but I also love this one here

Sandals: old, but some sturdy ones here

Jacket: old, but nice one here

These are the bloggers I linkup with!
