MERRY CHRISTMAS & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Merry Christmas and the cards!

For years Gerben and I send Christmas cards with a personal touch. Yes, we know that Christmas cards on paper are so 90 s, but we just keep on doing it because we like it! We also like to receive cards and stick them on the door. So if we make the pictures for the cards it’s always such fun. The cats are namely involved too. And they have to wear a Christmas outfit as well. I had bought such a lovely outfit for Castor, it made me terribly laugh. For Teun I should actually buy a dog thing because he is a big cat.

What we do at Christmas.

In the Netherlands we have two Christmas days and on Christmas Eve, the night before Christmas day, we already start celebrating. On Christmas Eve Gerben and I eat at home, we don’t know yet what but there will be wine involved! On Christmas morning we unpack the gifts that we bought for each other while having breakfast, with of course Christmas bread. In the afternoon my parents in law come over to our house and we cook diner for them. We also don’t know what we will cook but again, there will be wine involved. Boxing day will probably be a quite day, perhaps go out for a walk and at night we are going out to diner with a group of friends. That will be a cozy, very noisy evening with a lot of wine involved! I think I will offer to drive……that’s better….

Gerben,Teun, Castor and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas with lots of fun and cozy days!

LEOPARD PRINT & CHECKERED FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Fancy Friday linkup

I f you do not want to read the whole story or you just can’t handle me wearing two prints, scroll right down and linkup! For the heroes…. hold on tight!

Leopard print & checkered!

Most of you know by now that I am not into prints very often. You should see my kitchen and living room, stark white, no frills, empty, almost sterile. And so it is with my style, no fuss. Well then you will, I think, be surprised that I am wearing two prints today! I actually surprised myself too! But when I saw this cardigan, it looks a bit like a jacket, I knew immediately that it would look great on this blouse. I wear the sleeves up because, yeah, that’s the trend eh! Haha, but I like it.  But why does this combination works for me? I have no idea. I searched on the net about mixing prints to give you some tips, but I have apparently failed to comply with the hints. Does that mean I look like I dressed myself in the dark? Haha, no I don’t think so. I think that if it feels good, it is! And when in doubt….DON’T. Never! Btw, I saw here a beautiful coat and they also have a gorgeous pencilskirt in the same print! H&M has got great new items this week.

I bought the skirt a size bigger because I wanted to be longer.

BELL SLEEVES & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Time for Fancy Friday linkup and wearing bell sleeves!

Because of the tip that Shelbee gave me last week, there were a lot more linkups then normal! We now had 78! Let’s shoot to 100! That’s my goal. Thank you all for linking up, I love it!

Bell sleeves and striped skirt.

This is the first bell sleeve top I bought. I loved them for a longer time but most are long-sleeved and I know that is not ideal. I see myself cooking diner and hanging with my sleeve in the gravy. No thanks. So this is the perfect one for me. I bought this skirt in spring in England and thought it would be more of an autumn skirt. Because of the colors. So now I can finally wear it with boots. I’m still looking for the perfect leopard print ankle boots. Yesterday I was browsing on the net and thought I had found the perfect ones, and then I found out that they didn’t send to the Netherlands! Oh bummer! The search continues. I did stumbled on this skirt. At first I thought, wow I like, but then I saw the stripes on the side. I didn’t like it, on the other hand it is also something more trendy and different. I’m going to think about it. If you find the perfect leopard print ankle boot, please let me know! Haha, and I am looking for guestbloggers who want to talk about their style with a picture that comes closest to their personality. Now it’s time for you to shine!

Skirt: bought it in May at Dorothy Perkins, this is another great striped one here

Bell sleeve top:here

Boots: old, but don’t you just love these here

Let’s start with the Fancy Friday linkup!

DRESS OR SKIRT? & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Fancy Friday linkup.

And it is time for the Fancy Friday linkup. I must say that I love being busy with  the Fancy Friday linkup. Every week I see new faces and I think that is great! I hope you are also discovering new bloggers(for you) again. I also think it’s great fun to see who the last week most viewed was. I am a person who always set goals for herself and my next goal is to also choose every week my favorite. But… I will do that when Fancy Friday hit 100 linkups! So I’m now halfway! I would appreciate it if you would help me reach my goal and promote the Fancy Friday linkup!

Is it a dress or skirt?

I had not planned on shopping in England because I had a shopping day planned in the Netherlands, but you will agree with me that I could not let this one hang. But first I will show you this brooche and ring. The ring is selfmade from waste of materials the maker uses. So simple but so beautiful. The brooche is a funny story. When we were in Hastings in May, I told gerben I wanted to find in an antique shop an authentic brooche. I then found a very nice one and when we got home I asked Gerben to clean it for me(I’m a bit weird in that area, I assumed it was a second hand one, and then think that the person who wore it before is perhaps deceased and I don’t touch it then until it is cleaned, read decontaminated. So Gerben knows me by now and cleaned it very well and I was happy with it. And then I lost it! Don’t no where, don’t know when(?) I regretted that very much because it was not just a brooche, it was a brooche from my beloved England! I decided to buy a new one the next time. So, we went to the same shop and I was looking for another one when the lady asked me if I was looking for something special. I told her the story of the brooche ( not the decontaninating thing) and she said: Did you buy this one? What????? She had two more of them! I thought it was authentic! But I had my brooche back!( I am sorry, it’s not the best picture but I am running late and have no time taking a new one)brooche and ring in DRESS OR SKIRT? & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

And we still have the question, is it a dress or skirt?

A while ago I showed you my maxi skirt wich I actually prefer to wear as a dress. When I saw this dress I knew immediatly that I would never wear it as a dress, but it would be a great skirt! I find the colors so beautiful and the print of the leaves and flowers makes this skirt a fabulous autumn skirt. I bought it in Rye on the market for five pounds!

Boots: old, but from the same brand here

GREEN CREAM SKIRT & LINKUP

Today I’m wearing a green cream skirt and it’s linkup time!

It is Fancy Friday so please join my linkup at the bottom of this post. I have decided to not give a theme to my linkup, but I will put the most viewed in the limelight.

And I wanted this article by Sylvia of 40 Plus Style share with you because I’m proud of it!

I wear lately quite a lot of color and the color that most stands out is green. While green is a cool color, and I can’t wear all green colors because some greens make me look sick, some green tones are warm and I can wear those. If you do not know what colors look good on you, I encourage you to consider doing a color advice. A color analysis can show you which colors look good on you and which don’t. And also what metals and materials look the best on you. Also, often they will take a look at the way you wear your makeup and what colors you use, and give you advice on that. I attended a workshop years ago with girlfriends and found it very instructive and we had a lot of fun!

Zigzag like Missoni.

We all know the colorful knitwear designs and zigzag print by Missoni. This skirt has a bit of a Missoni print. I love the design of the bag although I never use it. When I leave the house, I always have to carry my oxygen concentrator with me, and it came with a terrible sound(?) bag. I had a nice stylish black bag where it fit in, and had the shoemaker optimized the bag for ventilation. But I don’t buy trendy bags anymore because I would walk with two bags and that looks stupid. Sometimes I think that’s a shame….but I’ll have to buy a lot of extra shoes right?

Skirt: could not find the same anymore but nice one here

Sandals: other colors here

Top: totall different but I like this one

The most viewed one from last week is: Shelbee from Shelbee On the Edge who tells about her new venture! Good luck Shelbee!

FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

It’s Friday again and that means time to show yourself!

Read at the bottom of the post how you can join the Fancy Friday linkup.

It is funny to notice how different I think about blogging as time passes. When I first started I was, like every starting blogger I suppose, very focused on figures and wanting for companies to approach me. Now, after more than a year of blogging, my figures are higher than I ever had imagined and stable and I said no to a lot of companies. And that does not really matter at all! I follow a very nice group of bloggers and those who respond to me and join my linkup, are much more important. It’s really nice to chat with each other and get ideas and see how other women style’s are. I am now also more selective with following, and so you create a great group!

The outfit of today!

Again a floral print skirt? Yes, again. It is still to cold to wear my new items! Damn! I love this skirt, I think I’m gonna wear it in the winter with my long black suede boots and a black military look jacket. That means I should be looking for such a jacket, but not this month, I imposed myself a shop ban for the entire month of July! That probably meansI will be eating a lot of chocolate! Wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Skirt: from last season but I love this one here

Jacket: old, but I like this one

Shoes: old but this site has got some great ones
