OUTFIT FOR A WINTER DAY & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Leather skirt outfit for a winter day

Have you already congretulated Ada on her first linkup anniversary? She would love it if you do!

Leather is always nice and warm, so it’s ideal to wear leather pants or skirts as an outfit for a winter day. Especially when it is cold as it was here last week. I hate winter, happily the snow is gone now and it’s getting a bit warmer. I am, like many others, all done with winter. I want sun, outdoor dining, bare legs and especially not wear layers! I mean, blouses under sweaters, cardigans over everything, I’ve had enough of it. I hope you havn’t had enough of it yet because I have for you another outfit for a winter day!

Cable sweaters

I used to love them a lot. As a child my grandmother always knitted them for me. Later, in puberty, I loved them in black and oversized for a ,,I don’t care,, look. I bought this one last year, it was the first cable sweater in a long time. And I found it not as much fun as I used to. A little borring or something like that. So I wore a transparent checkered blouse under it on a wider leather skirt. The strapped belt did something more for the outfit. I finally found some fishnet tights as they were hard to find here. Of course I wear other tights underneath them! And some suède wedges. This is not an outfit that is really my style, but I think it’s a nice outfit for when you want to be warmly dressed and still look a bit stylish. A perfect outfit for a winter day!

The Bad Buy Book

Now, do not forget to send us  your picture of your,,sitting shoes,, for the The Bad Buy Book series! You have the time until the 1st of March! What? You don’t know what I mean? Go shame yourself! Lol. Read all about it here.

Can you knit cables Jodie? They are so ,,winterish,,! Haha

I’ve always loved cable sweaters but haven’t owned one in many years. I bought my son a beautiful red one a few months ago, and I would love to have one just like his…

I really like this outfit. The shirt underneath and the belt add a lot of interest to the sweater, and the fishnets are great too! Well done!

Thanks for the link up & have a great weekend!

First of all, you look adorable in a cute preppy sort of way in this outfit! It is a bit out of your normal style range, but it totally works! Second, why did I not think to add a little reminder about The Bad Buy Book in my posts this week? Grrr…angry with myself for being absent-minded. But I will add it in the next post for sure. Third, I think we can push the date for submissions to March 10 to give more time. I have received a few and have been adding them into a draft as they come in so I don’t get bogged down. I will email you tomorrow about it! Thanks for the link up, my friend, and for being just all around amazing!

I like the look, and I love your sweater! It is perfect with the shirt underneath. I like the skirt (I always like your skirts). Stockings that are poorly suited to the cold, right? But you look so attractive with them!

    • February 24, 2017 / 12:47 pm

Yes, but I am wearing another one underneath Josep! For every problem, there is a sollution!

I love the belt…it really does take it all up a notch, as do the fishnets. There’s just something about fishnets that give off just a hint of a wild girl vibe and I love that!

If that doesn’t brighten up my day, nothing does! Thanks love!

  11. February 24, 2017 / 12:42 pm

Thank you! Have a great weekend Jennie!

  15. February 24, 2017 / 5:21 pm

Love your fabulous layers here! The belt really helps keep the sweater from looking to bulky and defines your tiny waist! You look amazing!

    • February 24, 2017 / 7:24 pm

      It’s not so tiny anymore

    • February 24, 2017 / 7:25 pm

Yes you really need them! I think fishnet tights would look fabulous on you!

  16. February 24, 2017 / 5:37 pm

I love the layering choices you made with this look! I’ve layered collared shirts under pullover sweaters before, but I’ve never belted them on the outside. I typically tuck in my tops and then belt the waistband, so this is a different technique I’m curious to try! Have a wonderful weekend!

I tried it with different belts, but I think it only works with this belt. To add a little,, fun,, on the outfit. Have a great weekend dear!

I love this look Nancy! The shirt under the sweater cinched in with the belt looks fab! I knitted a cable scarf last year – I haven’t worn it yet but the cat has started using it as his pillow!
