HOW TO WEAR WHITE TON SUR TON

Today I show you how to wear white.

To not make a style blunder, the so called faux pas, you shouldn’t wear white( or a shade of) after it gets below ten degrees or something like that. But these days you can’t make a style blunder anymore because everything goes. It might not be convenient to wear white when it rains and everything is wet and muddy, and you have to bring your kids from and to school by bike, walking the dog and run some errands. But otherwise it is a good color to wear.

How I came to wear white.

I almost never wear white. I own one white summer dress and I only wear it when it’s really hot outside. And I bought this crochet dress a while ago, but it’s not really white, a bit more off-white. This outfit is also a bit off-white. So, how did I came to wear white? It began with the joggers. I do not wear pants that often and when I do it has to fit perfectly and I don’t want to”feel” them. When you wear dresses and skirts all the time you get used to the fact that you hardly ever ”feel” your clothes. Or it has to fit so tight that you can barely breath, but I feel that often enough, I don’t need my clothes doing that for me. Lol. So, when I tried these pants I thought: Oh yes, they are so soft! Almost all the pants I have are a bit boyish, boyfriend jeans, badass pants and joggers. Here is another jogger outfit. But back to my new joggers. This one I actually have to wear a bit mor baggy then I did on the pictures. And next time I wear them, I wont wear a longer blouse on them. I think only the sweater is better but I thought the sweater would be a bit to short, but it wasn’t.Would you wear white ton sur ton? Click To Tweet

I almost never wear more then two colors in one outfit and for this one I thought it would be nice to wear ton sur ton, all in one color. I love cable knit sweaters. In last weeks post I told you I needed some warm sweaters because I didn’t have any. I can hear you all say now: see that you have sweaters! Yeah yeah, just one! I wear a large white bracelet and my dreamcatcher earrings. So, did I wear white the right way?

  1. I have to admit, I shy away from monochromatic looks. It’s probably as a rebellion against my mother who absolutely loves the look (she says it makes her look thinner!).
But this looks so fabulous on you Nancy—that I may need to try it!

  2. I love a monochromatic outfit, when it’s all black GRIN white isn’t something I lean towards, I must say. Especially because last year, thanks to steroids, I gained 65lbs. Wearing all white at that point made me feel like a fluffy polar bear and that wasn’t a very appealing thought. This year, I’ve lost 40lbs so far, and maybe when the last 25lbs are gone, I may try an all white look 🙂

I love yours though, Nancy, the proportions are perfect and the pearl grey of your jogger pants appears almost silvery next to the crisp white of your sweater and top. And, of course, I LOVE THOSE BOOTS. I probably would get them stained within the first five minutes xoxo

    1. Haha, Thank you. I also never wear white but I just loved the joggers and thought this would be a nice look. And if you keep on pushing yourself in the Gym as you do, then the last lbs wont be a problem!

  3. Such a beautiful monochromatic look, Nancy! I really like the longer white shirt underneath your cable knit sweater. Fab booties, as well, 🙂

  4. Such a fabulous look! It feels sporty and relaxed and chic and cool – all at once! I think mixing different fabrics and textures is such a neat trick for wearing a single color head to toe. It also masks the slight shade variations from one piece to the next. Imagine this same look with all the pieces cut from the same fabric. It would look so flat and one-dimensional. It’s amazing how playing with texture, layering, and proportion can lend such depth and interest to a look.

  5. Nancy, this outfit looks really great on you. I rarely wear white unless it’s summer when I have a tan, because it tends to wash out my complexion. But I may have to adjust my thoughts on it. I love all of the texture in this outfit, the sweater adds so much. I really like the combination. And the boots are killer.

  6. Ik vind het heel mooi, wit in de winter. En ook deze combi van jou is geweldig. Maar toch draag ik het zelf niet zo snel, voel ik me toch beetje opgelaten en ongemakkelijk in om één of andere manier.
